Joyce's p.o.v.

I smiled over to Alex, noticing the cup in his hand. I must say, he is quite a handsome man.

"Hey...?" He confusedly said. Oh right, my name!

"It's Joyce." I grinned. He smiled back at me, walking fully into the room.

"Hello, Joyce." He said before turning his head and eyes to Jack, a bigger grin placed on his face. When he told me he loved Jack yesterday, I couldn't help but think it was true. Just the way he said it, despite his worry and fear of Jack in his arms. I'm such a horrible mother for saying that to Jack. No mum should ever tell their son, who's struggling with self-harm, to fuck up their arms. It's not right. I was just scared and worried for him. I didn't know Alex, so I didn't know what he was capable of. He may look like a sweet, charming man, but you never know what he can do. I guess that's what frightened me. But as I get to see him in person, I can tell through his sweetness that theirs nothing there that could hurt my son, just more sweetness.

"Hey, I got you some hot chocolate." I snapped out my thoughts by Alex. I thought he was talking to me, but when I saw him walking to my son, I couldn't help but 'Aw' out loud. This caused both Jack and Alex to look at me. Jack's facial expressions held confusion. Alex just had a blush. Alex turned his head around to my son. Jack chuckled shortly, a smile at his lips. Wait, a smile? I think that's the first time in forever that I've ever seen him smile like that. He generally looked happy, all because of Alex. Alex now is in my good books. He made Jack happy. He made him smile. I've never been able to do that, and I'm his mum. I think I'll just have to get used to the fact Alex will be in Jack's life.

"Thanks Alex." Jack looked up to Alex, who was hovering over him a bit, through his eyelashes. The shine in Jack's eyes, they looks so bright. I wasn't sure if Alex could see it, but I now could see them clearly. I guess my little boy is in love.

"I'm gonna let you guys be." I announced, standing up from my chair. Alex looked like he really wanted to talk, so I let them.

"You don't have to, mum." Jack said nicely. Yeah, I really liked that Jack. I didn't know if he was doing it because Alex was there, or he's being generally nice.

"It's okay, don't worry. Hey, I'll see you tomorrow, Jack. I'll ring the school to let them know you be in the rest of next week." I said, walking over to Jack and did something I thought I'd never do.

I hugged him.

"I'm so sorry, Jack. I hope you get better." I smiled, pulling away. Jack looked kinda shocked, and he seemed to of frozen. I took that as a chance to warn Alex.

"You better be good for my son." I said in a warning tone, but I smiled.

"Don't worry, I won't let you or him down." Like I said, a nice, caring guy. Jack's picked a great one.

"Alright, so see you too, Alex." I finally said,waving and walking away after Alex said goodbye back.

I hope he means what he said, or there will defiantly be consequences.
