Deer In The Headlights

Chapter Twenty-Nine

Jack's p.o.v.

After twenty minutes of sweet kissing, I pulled my lips away from Alex. He smiled up to me, licking his lips a little. I chuckled, feeling my cheeks warm up slightly. I turned my head away from Alex, wanting the burning marks on my cheeks to go away. I felt Alex's body straighten out, I then realised he was returning back to his seat. I brought my face back down to my legs, my eyes focused on them. Alex's earlier words wondered through my head. He called me his boyfriend in his head and found it amazing? I think I would've too.

I was brought out my thoughts by the doors knock. Alex sighed, shouting a 'come in' like he usually does. I glanced up to see him looking down at his watch. He looked up to me for a split second, flashing an reassuring smile before guiding his eyes to the person who had stepped in. I turned my head, getting a look at the person. She was the same person who seems to be always knocking on Alex's door. She flashed a smile to Alex.

"Nice to see you moved alright, Alex." She said, looking around the room a little, seeming surprised. She then turned to me, flashing a different smile to me. It seemed like a smile that was fake. Or maybe that's what I think?

"Jack, your mum rang up saying that she isn't going to pick you up today because she's staying out with her friends." She noted, reading the little yellow sticky note on her finger. I groaned naturally because I knew I had to walk.

"Alright, thank you." I breathed out in annoyance. I wished my mum told me before I even got here this morning; that way I could of grabbed Taxi money. I shouldn't complain really, I said I was going to walk to therapy but my mum protested.

"Thanks, Anna." Alex smiled at the women, Anna. She smiled back, blushing before quickly leaving the room.

"I don't think I like her." I said out of no where. I wasn't really meant to say it out loud.

"Whhhy?" Alex asked, dragging the 'h' out for five seconds. I knew exactly why.

"She likes you." I mumbled, looking down. No, I can't be jealous. Alex wouldn't want an jealous boyfriend. Control yourself, Jack. I took a deep breath, trying to control my upcoming anger.

"Is somebody jealous?" Alex sang in a weird voice. I ducked my head, looking down at my knees again.

"I'm sorry." I mumbled, bringing my hands down to rest on top of my legs. She probably blushed because Alex thanked her, not because she likes him.

" I find it cute." Alex said. I blushed, but the anger still inside me somewhere.

"So, your mum's not picking you up? She's out until tomorrow?" Alex asked, sounding a little mysterious. Oh god, what is he planning? I nodded, mumbling a short 'yeah' while still trying to control myself.

"Do you wanna watch movies at mine then?" Alex asked, hope filled his sweet voice. I was a little shocked at what Alex said, never really thinking Alex would once ever invite me around.

"Y-Yeah, that would be nice." I lifted my head up, smiling at Alex. He smiled back at me instantly.

~~

"So, you go out first. Walk to the shop around the corner from here and I'll pick you up." Alex informed me, getting up from his chair. I nodded understandably. I knew that he didn't want us to get caught and fuck everything up. I didn't want to get caught either, despite the fact I would love to show him off to the world.

I got up from my own chair, walking over to Alex. I pecked Alex on the lips.

"I'll see you in a minute, babe." I winked at Alex.

"Hey! What happened to whale-pup?" Alex pouted, acting like an five year old. I rolled my eyes dramatically.

"He turned into a lion." I said matter-of-factly before rolling my eyes again and heading out Alex's room.

If I could block my ears, that would be great. I'm now stood outside a little corner shop which seems to be perched right outside a busy road with a hell lot of vehicles. I kept my eyes averted away from the transports, not wanting to get triggered and have an panic attack. Dammit, why do I have to be this way? Why didn't I just turn my music down the slightest, look where I was going, and didn't storm out my house? I would've never got hit. But yet again, I would've of met Alex. I most probably wouldn't be at Therapy either. I sighed, deciding to shut myself up and be happy I'm still alive-even though I always thought death would've been better for me.

An car horn made me jump, looking straight up. I saw Alex in his Audi black car. I smiled, happy that I could get away from here. I looked around a bit before walking up to Alex's car and opening the door. I ducked my head and got in. Damn, this car smelt nice. It smelt somewhere between strawberries and chocolate, but also that original car smell you get.

"Hey, you." Alex perked up. I buckled my seatbelt, sitting back on the comfortable car seat.

"Hey." I smiled towards Alex. Then, I randomly remembered I couldn't be awake through car journeys. I gulped, ready for pressure to be put on me. Alex started driving and for some reason, the way he drives so calming was making me want to sleep. I turned my head to the window, not looking out of it as I closed my eyes. I don't care how embarrassing this is, I'm not staying awake through this.

When I woke up, it was caused by pottery hitting the floor. I groaned to myself, lifting my head up. I looked around my surroundings and had a thing that felt like an mini-heart attack. The room was huge, a flat screen TV in front of me. This isn't home. I sat up, now realising I'm on a black leather couch. I had an Peter Pan blanket around me. I frowned with confusion. Suddenly, another pot fell and then I heard an 'God dammit' But it was quiet. Then, I remembered. I fell asleep in Alex's car, so this must be Alex's house right? Unless someone stole the car with me still in it and I'm now at a criminal's house.

I got up lazily, my ears paying good attention to the quiet noise. I assumed it was from the kitchen seen as I just past the dining room. I saw an arch and popped my head around. I bit my lip as I saw Alex with egg sells all over the kitchen floor, pans everywhere, packets of food all over the sides and water also on the sides. He was trying to break an egg but couldn't. I told myself not to laugh and break the sight of the most cutest thing I've ever seen. He slammed the egg on the side mumbling an 'I give up'.

"You can't crack an egg?" I asked and Alex jumped a little. He turned to me with an angry, sad impression. I rolled my eyes, walking over to him and looking at the mess. It seems worser once you get to actually see all the mess he's created.

"I just, I can't do it. I thought I would try again because I thought I could do it, but it ended up getting everywhere." Alex whined. I chuckled at his adoreableness.

"I can teach you if ya like?" I offered, grabbing an egg out the egg box that was covered in yoke. Alex nodded and so I stood behind Alex, my hands moving under his arms, around his waist and to the bowl. I buried my chin on his shoulder and placed the egg on the bowl side.

"You was hitting it too hard against the side, you have to be gentle" I said softly over Alex's shoulder. I tapped the egg gently on bowl.

"Now you try." I smiled, carefully handing the egg over to Alex. I couldn't help but get a tingle-y feeling in my gut when his hand touched mine. He grabbed the egg carefully, guiding it over the the side of the bowl. Even if he could crack the egg now, we couldn't do anything with it because of all the shells in the bowl already. I watched carefully as Alex hit the egg so lightly on the bowl, I was unsure if it actually hit the bowl. I broke into a smile and kissed his cheek, placing my hand on his. I gently brought his hand back and made it hit the bowl a bit less gently. Finally, it decided to crack.

"Yay!" I yelled, bringing my hands from Alex to up in the air.

"Jack, that was in my ear!" Alex pouted, rubbing his ear. I pulled my arms down from their dancing in the air.

"Oh...sorry." I mumbled, looking down. I forgot my head was right next room his ear.

"It's okay." He chuckled, walking over to me after placing the cracked egg in the bowl.

"I think I'm going to clean this up and order Pizza, is that okay?" Alex asked. I nodded lifting my head up at the now smiling Alex.

"I'll help." I insisted, walking over to the bowl that was splattered with egg.

"It's okay, Jack, you don't have to. I created the mess."
