Head On Collision

Alex’s POV

I didn’t know I was going to be one of those people. One of those people who’s so dumb and ignorant to fall for someone. A someone who was going to hurt me if I did anything wrong or out of place. Someone who if I didn’t do what they wanted me to, I’d be in tears and blood curdling pain for the night to the point where I see stars and butterflies in the sky.

But I did.

And I fell hard.

To the point where if I tried to get out of it, I wouldn’t make it out alive and come crawling back to him like a small and innocent child back to its mother.

It hadn’t always been like this, no, it had started off like any other relationship you may hear about and I can remember it just as if it was yesterday…

It was a Tuesday evening, maybe a bit later. My friends and I easily snuck into the bar at only being nineteen but Dawson’s older brother being the bouncer at the door he let us in.

While my friends tried to hook up with girls in hot pink skin tight dresses, I was sitting at the bar alone. Having my eye on one certain man with the black licorice colored hair, having a streak of pale yellow going through it and gelled up almost like a mohawk.

He was dancing around people, having an eye on someone. Little did I know, that someone would be me that night and everyone I knew that day, would soon become apart of the once playful past I once knew.

“Would you like a drink?” He yelled to me over the song Don’t Trust Me by 3OH!3.

I told him yes and he ordered the bartender to come over to where we are, just in the snap of his fingers.

“Yes sir?” The ash grey haired bartender asks.

“Give my good buddy here a strawberry tequila.” He demands from the man across from us and then he starts up a conversation with me.

“So what’s your name?” The man besides me asks from me.

“Alex. Yours?” I approach, not anything hidden in my voice but I look down, shying away from the blush on my cheek.

“Jack, now why are you here alone? I saw those friends of yours around here somewhere.”

“I’m not into girls, but I did have an eye out for a certain someone.” I hint, winking at the man I know as Jack.

“Well I hope that someone is lucky.”

“Maybe himself can tell me if he’d like to go on a date with me? Maybe take me home?”

He didn’t say a single word after that, just kiss me on the lips sweetly, passionately as it told me I got my point across.

A single moments later he cuts the kiss off, then taking my hand and leading me out the door to the outside world.

Not knowing where we’d go, I just let him take me with him to wherever he’d take me.
Leading me down all the streets we could take, he lead me to Rocks Creek, the only park near Woodlawn, Maryland.

“I barely know you Alex, but I believe there are angels everywhere. One of those angels, I think is you. You just have that vibe and I want to be around you despite only being near you for not even an hour.” Jack tells me, looking up at the starry night sky.

“I do too Jack, I do too.” I whisper, looking towards him.

“Then come with me.” He looks back at me, having a grin I little did know I’d begin to dread.

And so I followed him into my new life that I love and hate at the same time…

And here I am now, cowering in fear as that same man corners me by the body length mirror in our walk in closet, clutching my wedding band hand as close as I can to my heart knowing that he’s only doing this because he loves me.
