You Have My Heart, At Least For The Most Part

Twenty-five

*Brief summary*: Alex is a student. Jack is his teacher. They start dating. Jack used to play with people because something happened to him. Alex's ex-best friend, Zack, is being a bitch to him. Lisa dates Zack, and she's Tay's best friend, who's Alex best friend. Jack's best friend is Rian. Rian's girlfriend, Cass (<33) is in a comma because she had a car accident. She's also Jack's bff4ever. That's all, I guess.

Life is a bitch. Why would someone deserve this? Why didn't they do this things to an asshole, a terrorist, a murderer? A rapist? A bully? No, she had to do this to someone who, apparently, was a complete sweetheart and had a lot to live for. This someone, obviously, had people around her. Her boyfriend was a wonderful human being, always helping and putting a smile on everyone's face. Her parents, who Alex had never met until that day, seemed to be very good people. And her best friend? He was a wreck. Since they arrived to the hospital, he hadn't talked to anyone. He was sitting beside Alex, his head on his hands. And, once in a while, he let out a sob. Nothing more.

Why amazing people had to go through this? Why didtheyhave to suffer instead of people who really deserved it? Wait. Did people deserve to go through this? I mean, a rapist could be in a comma, but maybe his parents were the most kind and wonderful people that ever stepped on Earth. Like I said before, life's a bitch.

Alex decided to go and prepare himself some coffee. He had been sitting on the same uncomfortable blue chair for three hours. His legs hated him.

The hospital was one of the places he hated the most. It brought him so many memories that he tried to keep at the back of his mind, but it was so so hard. Even if Alex tried, they were always there, hunting me.

Alex blocked his mind just as he was reaching the caffeteria. He stared at the coffe-machine for a few seconds, deciding on what to drink.

"Need some help?" A voice he had never heard before asked. Alex turned around to found himself face-to-face to a boy around the eighteen's, with blond strikes of hair falling on his forehead. His blue eyes were staring at me intently, and his pink lips were in a smirk-form. He shook my head, quite unsure of what to say. "I recommend you to buy the hot chocolate. It's amaaaazing!" The stranger closed his eyes as he opened his mouth, as if he could be tasting an imaginary chocolate. Alex turned around and payed for it, thanking him with a smile. "Hey, I never got your name? How old are you? No? Anything? Dude, I just told you what to buy!” They both chuckled.

"Uh, um, I'm Alex, I'm seventeen. How about you?"

As he opened his mouth to reply, a blue haired girl jumped into his arms, laughing like a maniac. Then, she kissed his cheek as he sighed, but smiled at her anyways. "Ally, I told you to wait for me at the table."

"I know! But you were taking too long, Nate! And I'm bored!" She pouted and looked at him with puppy eyes. They were both wearing a pair of black skinny jeans, with a hoodie. Then, the girl turned around and looked at Alex with big eyes. "Who are you?"

The boy, who he just learned his name was Nate, interrupted Alex before he could say anything. "He's Alex, and he's seventeen." Then, he turned to face him. "I'm Nate, I'm nineteen. This is my girlfriend, Ally, who's eighteen." Nate grabbed Ally's hand, she blushed and smiled at him.

"So..." Alex said."You two are daiting?"

"Yup! That's what we just told you, genius." Ally giggled, excited, and kissed Nate's cheek.

"Eew, gross." Alex said, faking to puke.

"Shut up, Alex. I saw you kissing someone in the hall." Nate said, wriggling his eyebrows. Alex froze. Would he say something? What if he knew Jack was older? Even worse... That he was his teacher? A lot of horrible scenarios crossed Alex's mind, and he couldn't help but freak out. This was not good. Not at all.

"Hey? Alex? Dude, are you okay?" He opened his eyes to find the couple's pair of eyes staring at him, concern all over their faces.

"I... Yeah. I'm okay. But I... I think I should leave."

"We were just fooling around. We never saw you with anyone, I swear." Ally hugged Alex. "Have you just broken up with your girlfriend? I'm sorry. I never meant for you to remember something you don't want to."

"No. It's okay. It's not that." Alex's voice shaked. "It's uh... It's complicated." Nate was about to say something, but seemed to think about it and shut his mouth. "I really think I should leave."

"Wait! Here's our number," the girl handed Alex a crumpled piece of paper she had in her pocket. "Well, mine. But, you seem cool. Text us sometime."

Alex smiled at her and started walking away.

He kept walking down the hall until he found Jack. His boyfriend was sitting on a plastic chair, his head in his hands. Alex hesitated. Should he approach him? Go and ask him if he was okay? Well, sure a hell he wasn't. Would he want to be alone? Maybe Alex was a burden to him right n-

"Alex?" Jack was staring at him with bloodshot eyes. His hair was messy and he had dark circles under his eyes. "How long have you been standing there?"

"Five seconds." The boy was still hesitating. He had never been in Jack's situation, and he hoped he would never be. What was he supposed to do?

"You can sit down if you want. I don't bite."

Alex made himself comfortable beside the black haired man and rested his head on his shoulder.

"Do you want me to do something for you?" The boy asked, making Jack smirk and say: "I can think of many things I want you to do for me..."

"Jack!" Alex shrieked, blushing and hitting Jack's arm. "I-I wasn't... I just..."

"You are the best, you know that, right?" The caramel haired boy shrugged. Don't get him wrong, he didn't have any problem of who or how he was. It's just that... He had the constant thought that Jack deserved someone better than him. He was just a little boy who hadn't finished high school yet, a little boy who couldn't take Jack to awesome and memorable dates because someone could see them and they would be in trouble. Alex couldn't be the boyfriend Jack needed, and that was something that hurt more than anything. He could have anyone he wanted. He was handsome, funny, a great kisser, talented at what he did... Why would he waste his time with someone like him?

He turned around and found Jack staring at him with eyes full of an emotion he couldn't quite describe. And Alex couldn't help but blush. He had said that out loud. "Because of all those reasons. You are everything I want and everything I need, Alexander. Right now I wouldn't change you for anything."

Notes

HELLO! How are you, my beautiful readers? As I said in my previous author's note (which I deleted) I am back. Yup, at least for the next two months and a half, in which I plan to finish this story.

I HOPE YOU ARE PROUD OF ME BECAUSE THIS CHAPTER IS MORE THAN A THOUSAND WORDS LONG AND I NEVER WROTE A FANFIC CHAPTER WHICH HAD MORE THAN 600 WORDS SO YEAH I'M THE BEST

It may be kind of confusing the narrator thing, because I started writing this a while ago in my old computer so I continued it in the narrator's p.o.v but I had originally written the first part in Alex's p.o.v soooo yeah.

I'm going to edit the prior chapters because I re-read them and they totally suck <33 but the story will remain as it is :DD

I love youuu, thanks for reading and being patient with me. <3
