Alex POV

Later on, we were allowed to leave the hospital. I wheeled Jack just to the exit and then took him by his hand to lead him to the taxi thing. He looked embarrassed about being babied by me but it was just too cute not to do it.

On our ride home, we didn’t talk much. The taxi smelled weirdly of some minty thing and smoke. We arrived and I handed the driver his money. When Jack wasn’t looking, he leaned over to me and whispered in my ear that Jack and I were cute. I had so smile and thanked him before Jack started whining about it being cold and wanting to go inside. I obliged and led him inside.
I prepared the bed for him and fluffed up the blanket and pillow. He lay down and made grabby hands at me when I was about to walk away.

I laughed and who was I to not fulfil his wishes, especially with those puppy eyes looking at me. I lay down after putting off my clothes except for my boxers and he quickly draped himself across me. We lay there in silence for a few minutes but then Jack started shifting around.

“Jay, what is it? Do you need anything?”

“No?”

“Then what is it? Why are you not relaxed?”

“Nothing.”

“Jack.”

“Well if you insist… I just thought about how it will be Valentine’s Day soon?”

“Aaand?” I said, dragging the ‘A’ out. I couldn’t help but smirk at Jack’s cute shyness.

“I was thinking about my plans?”

“Plans?” I asked, a little bit worried all of a sudden. He expected something.

“If I tell you, it won’t be a surprise anymore, will it?” Jack said, pouting.

“Okay then…” I sighed. I guess I was going to have to start looking into presents for Valentine’s Day then.

We cuddled for ages, until we both were too tired to stay up after this hard and exhausting nigh. We fell asleep, covered in cosy covers, Jack snuggled up against me and my dreams evolving around “V-Day”.
