Jack and Alex sat quietly on the couch, a movie playing on the television, despite the fact neither one of them were paying attention to it. Alex was sprawled across the couch, his head in Jacks lap, sighing contently as Jack ran his fingers lazily through his disheveled hair.


“Hey, Lex?” Jack asked, filling the almost quiet room. Alex hummed in response, his eyes flickering up to the younger boys face. All he did was smile, leaning down, pressing his lips gently to Alex’s. He smiled, sitting up.


“You still got that guitar from middle school?” Alex asked, getting up off the couch and turning the television off. Jack nodded.


“Yeah, haven’t played it in years though. It’s probably out of tune.” Jack stated. Alex smiled, grabbing Jacks hand, tugging him up from the couch. He lead him down the hallway to his bedroom, remembering the route perfectly. When they got into the room, Alex sat on the bed, Jack eyeing him.


“Get the guitar.” Alex said, a smile forming on his lips. He obliged, pulling the unused instrument from his closet handing it to him. He thanked him, and began to tune it.


“What are you doing, Alex?” Jack asked, dropping down on the bed beside him. Alex ignored him, continuing to tune the guitar. When he finally got it, he smiled up at Jack.


“I haven’t played a guitar in ages.” Alex said, chortling to himself.


“Play it now, then.” Jack said, scooting closer to the older boy. A flush crept it’s way onto his face, and he looked down at the guitar. He shuffled through all the songs he knew in his head, and smiled when one came to mind. He began to strum, the melody filling the room. Then, he began to sing.


“Blackbird singing in the dead of night
Take these broken wings and learn to fly

Jack listened intently as Alex sang, a smile creeping onto his face.

Alex stopped, and turned to Jack, who frowned slightly.


“Why’d you stop?” Jack asked. Alex shrugged, looking down.


“I kind of forgot the words.” He said shyly, making Jack laugh.


“You’re amazing, Lex. There are no words to describe how amazing you are.” Alex smiled, grabbing Jacks hand.


“Thanks.” He said bashfully, setting the guitar on the ground. He leaned back, Jack following suite. “M’tired.” Alex mumbled, turning to look at Jack, who nodded in agreement. He scooted closer to the older boy, encircling his arms around his middle, snuggling into his chest. “I should be getting home, my mom’s probably worried.” Alex suddenly said.


“No, stay here.” Jack said sleepily, holding onto Alex tighter. He sighed, kissing the top of the younger boys head.


“Alright, I guess one night couldn’t hurt.” Alex said, draping his arm over Jack protectively. He could feel his eyelids begin to get heavy, before finally he let his tiredness win, and sleep overtake his body.

sorry it's so short.. it's just kind of a filler, and a small apology for not posting in a long time.... the next chapter is going to be a time bump. like, one month after... bare with me...
