Your Lost Boy

Twenty-Seven

Cass and I have been talking the phone all the time, planning when to have her baby shower and how she wants me to run it. I decided that we'd go with the same games she had at my shower but without the baby pool. Instead we were going to play baby bingo while Cass and Rian open their gifts.
"I think I got everything for the shower. Do you ahve everything for the twins and our gifts in the car," I asked Alex.
"I have the diaper bag and I loaded the car with the gifts yesterday," Alex replied as he scooped up Tom to take him out to the car.
"Oh wait I'm going to forget card box for everyone to put their envelopes for thank you cards," I went to my office where I had everything but Alex stopped me.
"I loaded it in the car last night. Now grab Stella so we can get there to decorate the hall with Jack and Jasmin before Cass and Rian get there," he shook his head at how frantic I was trying to make this shower perfect for Cass and Rian since she did such an amazing job for mine.
I picked up Stella and moved her crazy curls that she got from her father out of her face. She smiled wide with her signature Gaskarth smile. Both she and Tom have it and their smiles make my heart melt like their father.
We got to the hall and we were greeted by Jasmin and baby Jack. Alex parked the car and got out to uload the gifts and supplies we were bringing for the shower while I got Tom and Stella out. I set the down since they walk very well on their own now and have learned to obey me for the most part. Stella likes to run off for kicks sometimes. Baby Jack's eye lit up when he saw his best friends and ran up to Stell and Tom. He was so big now and he knows how to give hugs. I watch in awe as he hugs Tom first and then Stella second. Both of my twins tilt their heads to the side like curious puppies at the display.
"Hug," Jack explained in one word.
"He's very outgoing, Jas," I commented on her couragous son.
"He gets it for his papa," she commented.
"When will you two get married. You two were engaged before Jack came into the picture," Alex commented as he got out the stroller and set Tom into his seat in the back before putting Stella in the front.
"We're hoping after Cass recovers from having her baby," Jas said, "We've been taking it slow but we'll be getting it done soon. We even plan on having Jack be our ring bearer for us."
"That's just adorable. I hope he'll look dashing in a tux like his dad," I gushed over the idea.
"I was hoping to ask you if we could try to get Stella ready to be the flower girl. Jacky can help her while they do their job," Jas asked.
"I'll ahve to think about it. Plus I'd need to make sure Stella can handle walking while holding a basket. She won't be able throw her flowers since she's too little," I told her.
"Which is fine. We plan on having flower petals already thrown down on the aisle before I'd walk so Stella would have an easy job," Jas explained.
"Well for today, let's focus on Cass and Rian and baby Dawson," I told her.
"Of course. Jack is inside decorating the hall and Zack came by with Matt and Grieco to get the food and drinks out," Jas held out her hand and her son grabbed it eagerly and followed his mom inside.
"Congrats on the baby--"
"Jack, you are so busted, hand it over," Jasmin shouted at big Jack when he slipped up. He handed it over, defeat on his face as she rubbed it in like he had at our shower.
"Karma's a bitch," Alex told him, laughing at his friend's arogance that he showed at our shower taht felt like ages ago when I was a blimp.
"Alex, watch your language. Jacky is learning to talk now and he can absorb it like a sponge," I told him.
"Jack does it too. We have a cuss jar at home for Jack and I to put money in to train ourselves to watch what we say. Plus we tell him not to use bad words when he says them," Jas explained.
"I'm starting one," I told Alex and his jaw dropped.
"Not fair," Alex replied.
"We might as well start it to save up money for buying more clothes for the twins since they're growing so fast," I told him.
"Good point," he added.
"Alright, everyone now that we've finished eating, I'm going to set up our next game. I'm passing out bingo sheets. You guys fill in the boxes with all sorts of gifts that they could be getting. When you get a bingo, you win a prize," I explained as Alex and I handed out the sheets.
"You said the b-word! You said the b-word! Give me that pin," Jack shouted at me.
"What b-word, Jack," I was going to take his other pin.
"Baby," he said.
"Ha, thank you Jack," I took his last pin with my clever trick.
"Not cool, Julibean," he whined.
"You fell for it. It's your own fault, Jack," Alex agreed with me.
"You are whipped to your wife. Not cool man. I thought we had something special," he pouted, making baby Jack want to mimic it.
"That's not fair, mini Jack is making it heart breakingly cute," I replied.
When the shower ended, Alex, myself, Matt, Zack, Grieco, Jack, Jasmin, and Rian started to clean up the hall. Cass was hellping out by keeping an eye on Stella, Tom and Jacky while we worked. Stella was sitting down next to Jacky, her head resting on his baby shoulder and Tom was leaning on his sister. Cass was singing to them quietly a little lullaby. I could see Stella was trying to stay awake while Tom was surrendering and falling asleep. Jacky was wide awake and we playing with Stella's curly hair. My heart melted at how cute those two were.
"I can hear the wedding bells," Jack teased when he saw me watching the kids.
"So help me if your son is anything like you, I will ban Stella from being alone with him," I joked.
"Jas won't let it happen. I think he's watched and learned what Jas and I do when we're cuddling on the couch while he's playing with his toys and is copying it with Stella. I do see our three racals being best friends," Jack commented seriously.
"Maybe with Cass and Rian's baby, Tom can have a little friend too," I added, "Then we can keep our families close through the band."
"That's possible, But for now, we can enjoy the little things our kids do Julibean," he replied as he hugged me in his goofy big brotherly manner.
'Let's collect our children before Cass puts them into a comatose nap," I smiled.
Our family is getting bigger. My "brother" Rian is getting ready to join the fatherhood club liek Jack and Alex have. Micah joined the guys as a member of their band of brothers. Before long, Stella, Tom, and Jack will be teens and I think Stella might end up falling in love with Jack. But the future is far away. I'm too busy enjoying these little moments, watching my toddler twins learn about and explore their ever expanding precious little world.

Notes

A little length, but I wanted to get Jack and Jules as brother/sister moment while hinting at the sequel which is coming up after one more chapter by the ever amazing and talented Jess.
