Your Lost Boy

Twenty-One

The nursery was finally finished being painted while Alex was out on the World Triptacular. I had Jasmin staying with me while it was getting done so she could help me out around the house. Plus with her being here with little Jack, I got to go through a baby crash course with her. she taught me how to change a diaper the right way for a boy and she told me that for a girl it'll be different in some aspects. She also taught me how to prepare a bottle and how to feed and burp a baby.
"Jas, thanks for staying with me while our husbands out being rockstars. I would be so screwed if I didn't have you here. Since Alex is constantly calling me when he can to enforce my bed rest," I told her as we were putting away the baby clothes into the chest of drawers I ordered online for the babies' room. Thanks are given a thousand times over to the person that came up with idea of home delivery.
"It's no problem. I knew that with Jack and Alex gone on their crazy trip, we could have some girl time and help get you prepared to be a mommy for when Alex isn't here to help. But it will be twice as much work since you have two babies incoming. Maybe you'll be lucky to have one easy baby and one fussy baby," Jas replied.
"Maybe, but I doubt we'll be that lucky," I told her as I heard the doorbell ring.
"We have company," Jas snickered.
"It's most likely Micah coming over to help with getting the crib boxes upstairs. Alex and I are putting together the cribs when he gets home," I told her.
Jasmin helped me down the stairs and set me down by the couch so I could get off my feet. I swear my belly looked fit to burst, but it was only October and I'm due in December.
"Hey Jas, I take it you dumped Juli on the couch," it was Micah.
"Yep," she replied, popping the "p".
"Come on in Micah," I called to him. He soon came in and saw me and my enormous belly on the couch and his jaw dropped.
"Damn, those babies are growing fast," he commented before he came over and kissed my cheek and hugged me from behind.
"Yeah and they're not done yet," I told him.
"Have you been following the doctor's and Alex's orders of staying off your feet as much as possible," Micah asked. I swear he was just like Alex with worrying about me. I could never escape the overprotective atmosphere.
"Yes I have. Jasmin has been enforcing it too and Alex calls every chance he can to make sure I'm doing as I'm told," I rolled my eyes at him and his worrying.
"Well let's get the cirbs and the mattresses upstairs. Jasmin, can you help hold open the doors as I bring them in," Micah said.
"Sure. Stay on the couch, Juli. I'll help you upstairs to lounge in bed when we're done," Jasmin patted my shoulder before she went with Micah to help guide him through mine and Alex's house to get the cribs upstairs.
I was trying to sleep in a little more when my phone started ringing. I tried to ignore it, think it was someone calling to try and sell me something. Once my phone stopped ringing, it would ring again. I groaned loudly and grabbed my phone and answered it.
"Holy shit, Julia! You scared me with not answering," it was Alex. I feel really bad now, and my hormones make it 10 times worse and I start to cry at ignoring my husband's calls.
"I'm sorry. I was trying to sleep a little more. I didn't know it was you, Alex," I sobbed softly.
"Ssh, it's okay. I'm just calling to let you know I just landed. Jasmin's on her way to the airport right now to pick me and Jack up. I'll be home soon and we can get the cribs together today and I actually have a special gift with me from Matt. You know he had his engagement dinner with his fiancée's family during our baby shower and he couldn't move it around. I think you'll love it," he gushed with massive energy.
"How are you awake when you've been to Tokyo, London, and New York in the span of three days," I asked him as I sat myself up in our bed.
"Jet lag," he replied simply.
"Well I need to get up to shower and get dressed. I'll be super carefull and sit in the shower chair," I told him, whining a little since he got us a shower stool for me to use when I shower so I won't run the risk of slipping. I swear he was too much.
"Take your time in their. I'll be home soon," Alex and I said our partings and hung up so I could get showered and dressed to welcome my husband home.
As if on que, I got out of the bathroom fully dressed as Alex brought in his bags and collapsed onto our bed. He had a huge smile on his face, which meant he was thinking about the twins again like he usually does.
"Hey stranger," I greeted him as I leaned against the door frame of our bathroom.
"Hey babe," he replied as he got off the bed and closed the gap between us, pulling me into the most loving kiss I've gotten from him so far.
"We have to assemble the cribs before you leave for tour in a week and a half," I told him when we parted from our kiss.
"I know. But first come downsatirs to see Flyzik's gift for us," Alex took hold of my hand and guided me as I waddled downstairs.
Once we got off the last step, I saw the plastic gift bag that hid the big present that Matt got us. Alex moved me to sit on the couch and he tore open the gift bag. Once the bag was completely removed, I gasped in amazment at what Matt got us.
"He got us a double stroller," I gushed, joyful tears in my eyes.
"He found it on our registery and got it for us. He wanted to send his gift along with Danny or Evan, but I told him that I'll take him form him after the Triptacular," Alex explained.
"I see he couldn't resist giving us baby Mickie and Minne for Tom and Stella either," I said as I noticed the two plushies buckled in the stroller seats.
"No he couldn't," Alex agreed.
That night, I sat in the armchair Alex and I bought for the nursery while he assembled the cribs. I read him the instructions while he tried to put all the parts into place. Every time he messed up on something and made his angry face, I laughed and made the babies kick, which made me laugh more. I knew everything was going to be perfect once December comes and Tom and Stella are finally born.
It's bee a long wait, and it's one I want to be over soon. My back is killing me and my belly is gigantic. But I love the feeling of being pregnant.
