Chapter Fifty Nine

*Jack pov*

Seven months later and the school year was quickly approaching it's end, the last days the boys would spend at school were rapidly ticking by. The delight, mixed with the inevitable nerves, danced through the air and filled each and every person - each sad yet excited to finally leave the school they'd grew up at. Jack was one of the few that was more excited than he should be. Other than the past year, his school life hadn't been great, and he couldn't wait to wave the school goodbye and never ever set foot through the gates again. Obviously he would miss a few teachers that he actually liked, and would miss some of the people in his classes, but he'd get over all of that. He knew he would, and he couldn't really wait.
Although what Jack was mostly excited about, was the record deal that was currently dangling in front of his bands' noses, literally all they had to do was survive these last few days before they would be an official band, with a record label. They had their first mini tour planned for a few weeks time, and that was what had left the taller boy sitting in their final assembly at Dulaney with his leg bouncing up and down and a grin on his lips because he was going to be in a band.
"Jack sit still before I rip your leg off." Rian growled from next to him, causing the younger to bolt away from his daydreaming and send the drummer an apologetic look, before they both listened to the head teacher once more. However, it didn't take long for Jack to zone out again, his thoughts wandering the second he realised there was a new assistant teacher standing by one of the doors. She was listening intently, although can't have been doing the same when the head told her the uniform rules, because she had a lot on show. Her white blouse was close to transparent, clearly showing off her black bra underneath, with a long cardigan over that, which didn't do much to cover her up. Below was a short skirt, that ended a good few inches above her knees, clinging to her hips as her strawberry blonde hair draped over her shoulders. Jack wasn't complaining, in fact she was quite hot, but he felt it was nor appropriate nor necessary to be wearing such provocative clothes in front of teenagers. But, no, he really wasn't complaining.
"Hey, you're meant to be gay." A poke in the stomach tore his gaze away from the new women and to Alex, guilty of the poke, who was pouting and frowning at him.
"Maybe I'm bi, my body hasn't decided." He retorted, keeping his voice as a whisper and chuckling quietly when the brunette boy let out a huff and crossed his arms.
"Whatever, asshole." Alex muttered, shifting slightly and glaring at the younger boy, who took one last look at the teacher, which actually caused his face to contort into a grimace, making a smirk creep onto Alex's face.
Once the teacher had stopped droning on about how much of an asset the year group has been to the school and how much success they all deserved, they returned to their classes, for the very last hours they would spend as a year group. Thankfully, at least in Jack's eyes, they had music, so at least he spent this day with people he actually liked. Alex and Jack walked into the classroom together, the elder talking about the way he had always thought the head teacher could be a vampire, or a mythological creature of some sort. Where Alex had got this from, Jack didn't know, but it was fairly amusing to listen to him just talk and talk about something completely ridiculous. It was a nice quirk to Alex's personality - how he could just go off on one, even about something totally stupid that nobody would really care about. It was cute, or at least he thought so. Their class was mostly all in the room by the time the pair got there, them choosing to dawdle rather than rush around like every lost moment would affect their entire lives forever. Miss Jackson was situated at the front, conversing with a few students, laughing and reminiscing in the past years with the class. Being such a laid back and genuinely nice teacher, the young women had a lot to share with the teenagers, and Jack knew she would miss the year group she knew so much about. Everyone else was taking pictures and signing year books, or exchanging details about their prom that was to follow that evening.

That was another thing altogether - prom. Jack, Alex and Rian had managed to sneak Zack in, and the four had their own plans, concerning transport and outfits. And the younger was certainly not wearing white and teal. Not only did he really not want to, he knew Alex would never have let him. The brunette was taking this all quite seriously, his excitement evident whenever the event was spoken about. It was adorable, watching his brown eyes and crimson cheeks light up when the group discussed their plans, or when he demanded that him and Jack wore matching outfits in some way, or when he just had to go dress shopping with the girls because it was prom, and when the boys went to get their suits fitted. Jack probably wouldn't have given the even much thoughts or consideration if it hadn't been for Alex, which made the whole thing that much more special to him. It was a huge goodbye for the dark haired boy, leaving the place he had basically grown up in, yet he was leaving with his three best friends, his boyfriend, a close record deal and a whole lot of dreams that he was going to make come true. And he couldn't wait.

Jack was being dragged around the room for pictures, his cheeks hurting from all the smiling and his lips being pouted way to much for one day. Alex was happily skipping round, taking pictures of and with everything and everyone - including multiple with Jack himself, all of which would make a weird and wonderful montage one day. Rian and Cass were also joined at the hip, doing cute couple photos, which Jack photo bombed at least ten of, both laughing together about the memories they had shared.
"It's gonna be weird leaving." Jenna said from where she sat next to Jack, the pair watching the class continue to bustle around. The boy agreed, smiling down at the blonde, who smiled back.
"You better stay in touch, asshole. And let me come on tour with you." She told him in a stern voice, pointing a finger at him threateningly. Jack raised his hands in a sign of defeat, laughing at his friend.
"Wouldn't even dream of not." He admitted, wrapping his long arms around her shoulders and smiling again.

They were interrupted by Alex, who came galloping over with a massive grin on his face, eyes bright and teeth gleaming. He was so beautiful when he was this happy, or at least he was to Jack. The emotion complemented his features, making his glow, and that made other people happy. It was contagious the happiness he carried - especially when he had so much of it. Just as the taller boy was going to ask what was happening, the bell went, signalling home time.
'That was why.' He figured, letting the brunette grab his hand and squeeze because prom.
"Later Jen." Jack said to the blonde, who swiftly kissed his cheek and ran out the door with Tay and Cass, all three squealing about how they were going to get their hair done. Rian joined Jack and Alex, his own Colgate grin in full effect on his face, although a hint of nervousness glinted in his eyes.
"Let's get this shown on the road." He said, monitoring to the door and leading them out.
"Cass is so excited, it's insane. She wants us to do a slow dance. I can't even dance!"
"Shut up Ri, it'll be fine. The lights won't be on, nobody will see." Jack reassured with a wink and a cheeky grin, only receiving a glare in return. "You still coming to mine after?"
"Of course!" Jack and Alex replied in unison, high fiving whilst Rian rolled his eyes.
"Okay good." He said as they reached the gates where everyone was saying their brief goodbyes.
"I'll see you at five at yours then." He said, sending them one last smile and walking off down the road. Alex and Jack walked the rest of the distance to Alex's car, with him almost shaking with excitement, which was almost making Jack nervous. But he liked seeing his boyfriend happy, so whatever made him tick was fine with him. Even if it was the cliche night at the end of the school year. They stopped at the car, Jack pulling the elder close with his hands on his hips, grinning as Alex's arms snakes over his shoulders, their bodies pressed together.
"Let's get to prom, my darling."
