Everybody Hurts.

Chapter7

Zack was always one to notice everything. He knew how to read people-you could say that- and he knew how their heads worked just by their actions, small or big. It was one of the benefits of being the quiet one.

One thing he did notice was Gray's left wrist when they sat around the bon fire a couple days before.
He also had his theory on how she hid it so well, and on why she thought no one would notice, she was right though, no one noticed. Except him.
But, he wasn't going to confirm his theory just yet. He needed more proof, unless he wanted to ruin his friendship with the girl.

He sighed as he plopped down on the couch. The guys were helping Dylan, and Josh with the songs. And since he was already finished with helping out Ty, he decided to just stay home. Gray was nowhere to be found. She ran out earlier that day saying that she had "important shit" to do.

"Honey im home!" Gray yelled slamming the front door behind her.
"Here!" Zack yelled back, not bothering to get up.
"I got a make over!" a grinning Gray walked into the room. Her once pink and purple hair now a velvet cake color.
"Why'd you dye your hair the same shade as a cake?" he raised an eye brow. Even though they were pretty close and he'd viewed her as a baby sister figure ever since they first hung out, he still couldn't get her logic. It was like she had none. Or she just wouldn't work upon it.
"Because i felt like it" she grinned childishly, he chuckled.
"Well, it suits you" he complemented.

"Do you think we can go skate boarding?" she asked jumping on the couch, and landing right next to him, he nodded.
A squeal escaped her lips, making him chuckle. "I need to change!" she snickered looking down at her clothes. She was still in her pajamas, since she woke up late, and had to get to the salon on time.

---------------------------------------------------------

"I told you not to do it" Zack shot the girl in his arms a disapproving look.
"Zack, you've known me for a little over two months. Have i ever listened to you or any of the guys?" she asked, burying her face in his shoulder.
"Guess not" he mumbled opening the front door with difficulty.

He carried her over to the kitchen, and sat her down on the counter.
"Don't move, i need to clean up your cuts" he ordered.
"I'm not a dog" she rolled her eyes.
"You're right, dogs actually listen" she huffed in response making him chuckle.

After getting the first aid kit from the closet down the hall, he opened the bottle of "This might sting" he warned before gently cleaning off the wound by using a non-alcoholic wipe, and making sure to wipe in only one direction, then he carefully applied an antibiotic cream, and covered the wound area with a clean sterile gauze dressing.

Gray kept hissing in pain as he worked on the wounds on her knees and elbows.
"That's what you get from trying to do a gazelle flip when you don't know the basics" he snickered earning a light punch in the arm from Gray.

They spent the rest of the day in a living room fort that Zack could barely fit in, but was forced to stay in.
"I feel like i'm your baby sitter" he groaned.
"I didn't even use crayons to color your face" Gray replied, giving him an innocent look.

"We're home!" Jack's loud voice filled the whole place, and while Gray was collecting her crayons, which she made Zack use to color with her, he took it as a chance to escape.
"Is that a fort!" exclaimed Jack in excitement when he walked into the living room.
"Yes" replied Zack "i had to baby sit that 22 year old" he added.
Jack chuckled at his friend, "i'm sure it wasn't that bad"
"She made me color" and that made Jack laugh as he imagined Zack, hiis buff friend, in a fort and coloring in a children's coloring book.
Zack rolled his eyes and headed to the kitchen, where Rian and Alex were"

The three men chuckled and watched in amusement as Jack slid into the fort and the voices of the two adults rose as they talked in excitement and were probably coloring.
"If he doesn't ask her out i'll hang him up side down to the ceiling fan" said Rian, in all but a joking tone, but his two friends knew that he was joking about hanging him upside down.
"He will" smiled Alex. "He will"

And yet the two friends sitting in the fort didn't even realize that this very fort would be the start of their new found love.
