Bite the Bullet

-Jack's Point of View-

I walked into Brenna's house and the sound of two girls screaming filled my ears. Walking through the living room to a cozy looking den, I saw the sources of the high pitched noises were before me. Two girls were on the floor; one on her back while the other one straddled her pinning her arms down screaming, "ADMIT I’M THE BETTER SIBLING.”
The one on the floor yelled that she wasn't going to lie. I stared in awe that nobody was stopping them from killing each other. The one on top looked over as she heard us enter. She had long black curly hair and brown eyes shining in a victorious kind of light. The one on the floor was a slightly smaller build with light brown hair and strikingly similar eyes to the black haired girl. They looked like they might be related. As the light haired girl admitted her defeat, the other stood above her in victory yelling how she knew she would win.
"Who's this Brenna?" The dark haired one asked as she walked over towards us.
"Oh yeah sorry, Jack this is Amanda my best friend in the world. And the one pouting over there is her older sister, Ashley"
The blond, Ashley, shot us a dirty look before huffing into the kitchen.
"Don't mind her, she is just bitchy cause her little sister can beat her ass." Amanda chuckled stepping forward to give me a friendly hug.
"Oh, It's okay." I reply looking at the floor, blushing for reasons I'm still not sure why.
"Well Manda, remember Gaskarth from school?" Her face twisted into a look of distaste at the mention of his name.
"Oh God, I hated that asshole. Always walking around like he was the boss of everyone. Like get off your high horse, dickface, before I knock you off it." she sneered in return.
I couldn't hold in a giggle at that. She was funny, I see why Brenna was best friends with her.
"Yeah well he's fucking around with Jack now. Slammed him into a locker tried to hit him in the parking lot. I ended up having to punch him just to get us away."
Amanda started laughing at the fact Brenna hit him before turning serious and looking at me square into the eye, "Do you want me to kill him? I ain't scared to go to prison". I looked at her in bewilderment.
"That’s um... that's nice of you but it’s alright."
She smiled slightly, “Are you sure? I don't like when people fuck with my friends. I will kill a bitch over it"
I looked at Brenna as she smiled between us. I got a warm feeling in my stomach when she had said we were friends. I've never had many friends and the fact that these girls wanted to be my friends without even caring about what I've done or what kind of person I could be was the best feeling ever. They were welcoming me with open arms and real, genuine smiles. I don't think I've been this happy in awhile.
For awhile we sat around and talked. About 10 minutes later Ashley came in and started to talk to me. She seems nice too. Eventually we started a movie after getting popcorn and drinks. Amanda and Brenna had 2 monsters, tasty cakes, Doritos, 2 cans of cola and ice cream.
Ashley leaned over as I stared at the duo in confusion, "They’re fat asses don't worry, you'll get used to it."
I nodded to show I’d heard her before looking back to the screen. Time seemed to fly by and before I knew it, the time had come for me to leave. With lots of hugs, swapped phone numbers, and promises to hangout soon, I was in my car and on my way home. I crawled into bed as soon as I got home, the only thought on my mind is how I hoped my day was as good tomorrow as it was today.
