Bite the Bullet

-Jack's Point of View-

I slowly started to shuffle back towards my car as Alex moved closer to me with angry fire burning in his eyes.
"Got anything to say for yourself Barakat?" he sneers at me. I cower, slightly afraid to reply. He gets closer and closer as my breathing becomes more complicated.
"I..um...I'm sorry. I wasn't paying attention" is the only reply that comes to my mind.
"Ha, You're sorry?! The best you fucking got is you’re sorry?! That's a fucking classic '68 Charger, you fucktard! Do you know how much that is going to cost fix?!" By this point he was in my face, yelling.
I feel my eyes start to sting and throat close up. I didn't know how I was supposed to reply. Slightly shaking and pretty sure I was about to pass out from the impending panic attack I felt rising, I started to reply. Before I could though, I saw a hand come between us and push Alex back and a flash of long brown hair block my sight of Alex's infuriated features.
Brenna.
"I'm sorry, is there a problem here, Alexander?" her sickly false ‘nice voice’, almost makes me chuckle. I look slightly around her to see an astonished look on his face.
"Yeah, actually there is! Your little fag here just hit my god damn car!"
She looks back at me with amusement and anger shining in her brown eyes before swiftly turning back to stare Alex down.
"First off Gaskarth, you're gone bring your down your tone with me. Secondly, I don't think you have any damn room to call anyone a fag considering…” she leaned in closer so only he could hear her "... if I remember correctly, I walked in on you with a guys dick down your throat last year at my party."
My mouth dropped open in shock as I saw his face turn to a ghostly shade of white.
"So if you could so kindly back the fuck off of my darling Jack here, that would be greatly appreciated. Go on scuttle away to your dick knee crew and go home."
I stared between them wondering if that had actually just happened. Brenna stepped aside with her arms crossed and eyebrow raised, challenging him to say something in reply to her mini-rant. He turned on his heel and began to sulk back towards his car. Brenna turned to return to her car as well, when Alex swiftly turned around and speed-walked towards me.
His face was close to my own and he hissed in the most deathly voice I've heard, "Just remember your little girlfriend won’t always be here to save your dipshitted ass."
Before he could say or do anything more he was being spun around and punched dead in the face and falling to the ground as blood started to run from his nose. I look up from his crumpled form to see Brenna leaning down closer to him.
" I told you I thought you should leave him alone. I tried to give you an honest warning but like I always assumed you aren't the brightest bolt in the box I guess."
Standing back up and reaching in her pocket she pulled out a cigarette and light it up.
"Come on Jack, we have much better shit to do than sit here playing with children" she winked then was off towards her car once again.
Alex was up and in his car pulling off fast and angry. Getting in my own car, I backed out (without hitting someone else, Thank God) and followed Brenna back to what I assumed was her house. As I saw her getting out and wiping her knuckles off, I confirmed my earlier thought that, yeah, I was definitely gonna like this girl.
