Six

After dinner, Uncle Cosmin asked Jack to join him in one of the studies. I decided to take Mina up to out room to figure out whay she won't talk to Jack. I was very confused. She was always all smiled when a full moon was coming up to be able to say everything that was on her mind.
"Mina come tell Mommy why you don't talk to Daddy," I picked her up and placed her onmy lap as I let down her hair and started brushing it gently.
"I'm scawed of Daddy," she said quietly.
"Why are you scared of Daddy? He would never hurt you," I told her.
"His wolffy voice isn't like his Daddy voice Mommy," she explained.
"Daddy's hurt that you won't talk to him. He loves you very much and wants to make you happy. Can you make Mommy happy and try talking to Daddy," I kissed her hair as I held her to me. I could only imagine how hurt Jack must be feeling since his own baby girl won't talk to him.
"I'll try Mommy. But I want you to hold me," she sighed sweetly.
"Okay sweetie. I'll hold you when you talk to Daddy," I told her.

Jack came in an hour later to find Mina gripping my hoodie for dear life when he came in. I looked at her, silently telling her to talk to him.
"D-daddy," she stuttered. He instantly perked up.
"Yeah baby girl," he asked, wanting to know what she wanted of him.
"Daddy, can you hold me," she asked hesitently. He patted his lap and she climbed up and pressed herself against his chest, that's when she started to cry.
"It's alright Mina. Shh..I got you. You're safe with me baby girl," he stroked her hair as he rubbed her back in little circles.
"I sowwy for being scawed of you Daddy. Your wolfy voice is not so scawy to me," she sobbed.
"I would never mean to scare you sweetheart. I love you very much. I couldn't imagine my life without you and Mommy. I promise to protect you Mina, my sweet little angel," he kissed her forehead while he continued to rub her back and hair, holding her close.

I woke up the next morning with a severe migrane. I found Mina holding a wet wash towel in her tiny hands.
"Mommy can I help," she asked. I nodded and she placed the wash towel on my forehead. The cool water helped my migrane stop hurting so much.
"Jack," I called. He leaned over so I could see him.
"Yes love," he asked kindly.
"Tell Grandmother I need to know what's wrong with me today. I am unable to leave bed now due to the pain I am in," I explained to him.
"You can count on me. I'll also take Mina out of the room for the day to play with her toys while your being taken care of," Jack kissed my cheek before he scooped up Mina, leaving me in peace to try resting more.
