Thirteen

Two weeks flew by quickly and the day finally came. Jack and Alex decorated the house last night since I got the call after dinner that Alina was ready to come home. I found Jack sitting in one of the rocking chairs in the nursey that we had set up for Alex and Alina with Mina sound asleep in his lap. I tapped Mina's knee to wake her up quietly. She then smacked Jack's arm as hard she could to wake Jack up and he shot up instantly.
"Rough night," I asked him. I had gone to sleep early and he stayed up with Mina since she was so excited to meet her sister and Alex was a restless baby and had to have kept him up all night.
"I've had worse," he replied, laying it out how wasted we got before Mina and the twins came into our lives.
"We're all going as a family to get Alina. So go get showered, shaved, and dressed mister," I playfully scolded him before I turned to Mina, "Go find a pretty dress to wear and I'll come help you get on. Then we're going through your old baby clothes to pick out something for Alina."
"Okay Mommy," Mina ran off to her room while I stayed with Jack for a moment. I got up on my tip toes and kissed him softly. I reveled in how simple it was. I felt like a seventeen year old again, not a twenty-seven year old mother to three. I felt so lucky and blessed for the family I had now. With tonight being a full moon, I was kind of worried about Alina and Alex. they weren't like Mina because I'm not a hunter anymore and they won't turn unless they chose to become wolves like Jack and I.
"Mommy I got my dress out," Mina called from her room.
"You're being paged love," Jack whispered, I hadn't realized that was were still holding each other.
"I know. Get busy," I replied as I went off to help Mina change.

I helped Mina out of her car seat and she tried to grab the diaper bag, but I got it first. I held out my hand and she took it gladly. Jack held Alex in his arms as we walked into the hospital.
"Can I help you," the orderly asked.
"I'm here to pick up my daughter, Alina Barakat," I told her.
"Your relation," she asked.
"I'm her mother. She's in the infant ICU," I informed the somewhat rude orderly.
"I'll take you to get her ma'am," one of the other orderlies that was most likely no older than twenty-two aid.
"Ma'am? What am I, my mother," I asked quietly to Jack, cracking a joke that made him smile big. When we finally got to where the orderly was guiding us, I found we were in the nursery now of the maternity ward.
"Alina was moved here last night since she didn't need to stay in ICU anymore. You can go and see her Mrs. Barakat," the nurse said before she went back to her post at the front desk. I handed the diaper bag to Jack and kneeled down to look at Mina.
"Can I come in too," she asked. I could this was going to break her little heart.
"No, I'm sorry Mina. You're not old enough to go in. If you stand up on those chairs by the window, I'll show you your sister," I kissed her forehead as I wiped her tears from her eyes.
"Okay Mommy," Mina jumped onto the chairs as I walked in to hold Alina for the first time.
Once the nurse working in the nursery saw me, she knew I was here to see Alina. She led me to the crib with the Barakat label on it and handed me the tiny bundle that was my little baby girl. I cried at the beauty of my little daughter. She had my hair and her father's eyes. She was so precious. I leaned my arms so Jack and Mina could see Alina in my arms. Everything in this moment felt right.

When the five of us got home, Alex had the food for dinner served and his twins were in their high chairs at the dining table. Then I saw the small brunette standing next to him and recognized the face. It was our long time friend, Tay Jardine.
"Tay how are you, we haven't seen much of each other since Warped Tour all those years ago. How are you," I greeted the girl.
"I've been great. I see you and Jack have been busy with being parents," she replied.
"Tay and I are dating. We ran into each other last week and we've been keeping it steady. I wanted to wait a little longer before tell you guys. I didn't want to take away from Alina's homecoming," Alex explained.
"Alex, you are like a brother to me. I would be offended if I didn't get to meet your new girlfriend," I told him.
"Well there is one other thing that I should tell you," Alex started.
"I'm a werewolf too. Me and the rest of We Are The In Crowd are wolves. I've been a wolf since I was twelve. My family is a hardcore pack," Tay added.
"And Tay has offered a merging of our pack with hers. I think that the arson that happened at the old house was done by hunters that were friends of your father's. More wolves means more protection for the children, both mine and yours," Alex added.
"Then welcome to the pack Tay. Maybe you and I can go on a girl night run with Mina," I said as I hugged Tay.

Notes

So that was lengthy, but worth it. So yeah I added Taylex into this. I will not kill anymore of my good characters. But I am revisiting the arson from the first chapter back into play. I will be working to get this story to be as long as We Lie Awake. But the last story in the triology I'm doing with this is the lives of the kids told from Alina's, Alex's, Mina's, Tom's, and Jasey's POV. I'm still trying to figure out the title for it but I know I plan on Tom and Jasey being 15 and Daciana and Alex being almost 15 with Mina at 17 close to 18.
