Nothing Personal

Jack--

I couldn't wait for school today. I heard there was a new kid, and I wanted to befriend him. I still hadn't come out yet, but I would when I got a boyfriend, if that makes any sense.

I got out of bed early and took a shower, got dressed, did my hair, brushed my teeth, and took off. I got in my car and quickly drove to school.

Once I got there, I met Rian and Zack where we usually meet up, in the parking lot in front of my car.

"Sup guys?" I asked as I got out of my car.

"Hey Jack. How are you?" Zack asked.

"I'm good. Waiting for that new kid to arrive, actually. I want to meet him." I said.

"Of course you do. What if he's ugly?" Rian asked.

"Then I'll never talk to him." I said, causing Rian to chuckle. A car horn made us look up. Someone wanted the space we were standing in. We all sat on the hood of my car and watched the person get out. I didn't recognize him, but he was super cute.

"Hey. You new here?" I asked.

"Uh yeah. I am." He said with a lopsided smile. His hair was straightened, and he was wearing a long sleeved checkered flannel with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He was also wearing black skinny jeans and a pair of converse. This kid had everything I wanted. Looks, and a great personality.

"Yeah? What's your name?" I asked.

"It's Alex. Yours?"

"I'm Jack. This is Rian, and Zack." I said.

"Nice to meet you guys." Alex said.

"Do you want to hang out with us today? At lunch?" I asked.

"Sure. That would be great thanks guys." He said, flashing us a smile.

"It's not a problem." I said.

"Well, I'll see you at lunch. I've gotta go get my schedule. See ya." He said.

"Wait Alex.. meet us in the courtyard at lunch." I said.

"Can do. Bye." He said with a wave. I waved back and he left.

"Damn, son. You're good." Rian said. I smiled.

"I've had practice before, Ri." I said with a smirk. He shrugged and we continued to talk until the bell rang.
