I Knew You Were Trouble
Chapter 14
It was a glorious new day. The sun was shining, the grass was green.
Wait.
The sun was shining? The grass was green?
What the actual fuck?
I was in a field next to the school sleeping next to Jack. Holy fuck.
“Jack” I whispered shoving at his shoulder.”Jack”
He stirred a little then sat up resting on his elbows.”The sun says hello” he said groggily.
“Jack we need to go. We spent the night at school.” After saying that he was suddenly more awake, and now on his feet. “We should probably go home and get changed then.” I stood up and started walking with him to his car. We didn’t particularly say anything, but it wasn’t exactly quiet. The birds were chirping and my mind was spazzing like crazy. All I could think about was that I spent the night in a field with Jack. I suddenly decide to look at my phone that was blowing up like crazy. Text messages from my friends wondering where the hell I am. I send a text to Kaitlin telling her to tell my dad I spent the night at Cassadee’s. As for everyone else I sent a brief message of what happened. By then we had reached the car and had gotten in.
The same went silence carried into the car ride except for when I realized I needed different clothes. “Do you think I could borrow some sweats” I asked. “No problem. We can finish our game of Mario Kart while we’re at it” he suggested. “Deal” I said right as he turned into his driveway. We got out and went inside immediately fighting over who gets to be player one. Turns out Jack can control the world by tickling it therefore ending in me being player two, and I had to be Luigi.
Almost a whole day had gone by and I ended up winning at Mario Kart. We were just getting back to my house and I was just getting out of the car when he stopped me.” Elaina” he said, “I was being serious. When we were on the roof. I really do like you, and I wanted to know if you’d go on a date with me?” Is he serious? Like dead serious? “Yes” I blurted before I could even say I was thinking straight. “Great. See you at school” Then he was pulling away, and down the road. Holy freaking crap. I ran into the house, and into Kaitlin’s room.”Jack just asked me out” I half yelled half spoke. It was just then that I realized Zack was still here. “Oh. Hi Zack”
“Hey”
“Did you know anything about it?”
“A little”
“I figured”
“Well that’s great” Kaitlin said,” He broke up with Holly right? And are you wearing his clothes”
“Yes, and maaaaybe” I said. She gave me a look saying she knew the correct answer already. “I’m going to bed now” I announced before walking into my room and plopping onto the bed.
