Who Said It Was Gonna Be Easy?

"I-I-what?" I stuttered in shock.

"you and jack"

"I don't know what you're on about" I muttered coldly, turning away from her again.

"Alex, give it up. I saw you guys this morning. I think it's really cute"

"Cassadee, you can't tell anybody! Promise me you won't!"

"I won't, don't worry, you can trust me"

"seriously if anybody finds out...jack could lose his job and we could get forced to break up"

"it's ok, I'll keep it a secret. How did you guys get together anyway?"

"I dunno..we were just kind of.. suddenly together..it just happened I guess"

"that's so cute!" she squealed and grabbed my arm.

"how did you guys start speaking anyway? Was it when he held you behind after class?"

"yeah..I um..told him some stuff and then when I was walking home in the rain, he offered me a lift but then something happened and I was really cold so he took me back to his so I could warm up and so he wasn't taking me home dripping wet and freezing and we kinda just fell asleep cuddling"

"that. Is. Adorable! So why weren't you in the next day? Were you too nervous to see him again or something?"

"you noticed I wasn't in?"

"yeah, like I said I've wanted to be your friend for ages. I noticed when you were off for like nearly 3 weeks as well"

"oh.. Well..anyway, no, I was ill. Jack let me stay at his apartment all day and then I stayed over again"

"so where were you those 3 weeks?"

"um...I..uhh..um..-"­ the bell rang suddenly and I shut up, praying she wouldn't press me for an answer. Chairs scraped back around the room and Cassadee pulled me up from my chair, dragging me towards the door, barely giving me time to pick up my bag.

"cmon, we have this class together!" she grinned as she linked her arm with mine.

"oh and stop calling me Cassadee. It's too formal. Call me Cass!" she added.

"um ok"

"by the way, you know that time you got beat up?"

"yeah?"

"I told jack about it, is that ok? I know you told me to leave you alone but I'd figured jack cared about you so I went to him so he could help you"

"I guessed it was you, it's ok I'm not bothered"

"so have you guys done anything yet?"

"what do you mean?"

"have you done anything yet?"

"like what?" I stared at her blankly.

"anything-anything. Yknow.." she nudged me and winked.

"...um.."

"y'know..have you guys like DONE ANYTHING?"

"oh!" I felt my face heat up as I finally realised what she was on about.

"I..uhh..we..I..no"

"liar" she laughed.

"is he a good fuck? He looks like he would be. He's hot" she said casually.

"Cass! Do you mind?! That's my boyfriend you're talking about!"

"aww! You just called him your boyfriend!" she practically fangirled.

"well..yeah.. And we haven't had sex yet so" we took our seats at the back and the talk continued for the whole lesson. The next lesson, we were apart. Cass invited me to sit with her and her friends at lunch but I declined, telling her I'd be with jack. when my second lesson finished, I was on my way to jacks classroom when suddenly I came across rian and his gang.

"well what do we have here? Little Alex decided to come back to school and get an education!" he said mockingly.

"leave me alone..please" I asked quietly, looking down like I was trying to be submissive to an angry, vicious dog.

"don't tell me what to do, you fucking dick!" the hallway had cleared now: everyone had gone for break. I knew I was in trouble.
