Jack
It was nearly a week into break now, just a few days till Christmas, and I had no idea what I was going to get Alex. I didn't even know when I was going to see him yet. His birthday wasn't too long ago, but I still felt obligated to get him something else for the holidays. So, I was in the mall, looking through things with Rian. Who was also here to help me get his and his parent's presents. They always insisted that I don't have to, but they refuse to let me pay rent. I might as well give them what I can.

“Dude, look at this.” Rian called, looking into a store. “I found what I want.”
“Coffee?”
“It's a new coffee shop.”
“Rian, I have given you so many gift cards for coffee over the years, do you even pay for coffee anymore?”
“Sure I do, but a giftcard would mean I don't have to as much.” He smiled, and I shook my head at him.
“Alright, another coffee giftcard, I'll get it when we leave.” I shrugged. “Let's go to Maurices for your mother.”
“What about you? I'm suppose to be finding your gifts as well.”
“We're going to stop by some stores I like too, since I need to find something for Lex.”
“Any idea on what you're going to get him?”
“Not really.” I sighed. “I already gave him a shirt-”
“With your name on it.” Rian added.
“Shut up.” I punched him lightly. “I was thinking of giving him some cds, he really doesn't have any of the bands I've showed him and he likes.”
“What if you just made him some mixes? You're good at putting songs together.”
“Not a bad idea.” I mused, and soon we found the store I was hoping would have something nice for Ri's mom. “Does your mom need a dress or jewelry this year?”
“Dress. Definitely.” Rian smiled, and we walked in.

Later we were finally leaving the mall, and I was looking forward to calling Alex. We've been using our phones more and more to communicate. I guess tonight his parents have some church thing to do, adults only, which meant Alex was home alone. I offered to come over, but he was sure his parent's had some kind of plan to make sure he has no one over. Especially me.

So, as Rian drove, I thought about everything I got today. Along with his giftcard, I got a coffee mug that said Don't talk to me till this is empty but he doesn't know that. We both got dresses for his mom. I bought his dad a new briefcase, and Rian got him a set of ties. I bought a bunch of blank cds, thinking that along with making a couple mixes with certain themes, I could record a few songs Alex didn't hear yet that I wrote. A couple may or may not be about him. It funny to think about what a sap I have turned into since I developed feelings for him, but I don't care. I'm the happiest I've ever been.
My thoughts were cut off from my phone buzzing in my pocket, so I dug it out, checking the idea. Smiling, I answered.

“Hey, Princess.”
“Hey,” He sighed into the phone. “How was your day at the mall?”
“Great, I founded everything I needed.” I answered. “Ri and I are on our way back now.”
“Whatcha get me?”
“Coal, since you can't wait to know.” I snorted.
“Jaaaack.” Alex complained, I could practically hear the pout in his voice. “Seriously.”
“You can wait.”
“Fine.” he huffed. “That reminds me, what do you want?”
“Um, I don't really need anything... just get me a shirt or something.”
“I want it to be special though!”
“Then think of something.”
“You are the worst boyfriend ever.”
“Nu-uh.” I chuckled, and looked to see that we were parking. “Oh look, I'm home.”
“How interesting.”
“Oh so much, what are you doing?”
“I'm stuck home alone, my parents are at some thing for the church. Adults only.” He said. “I've just been studying.”
“Did you say home alone?”
“Jack, why are you mentioning that fucking movie...” Alex sighed, and I snorted.
“Not that you idiot, you're home alone?”
“Uh, yeah.”
“... Can I come over?”
“You're not allowed here.”
“Alex, I meant can I sneak over. How long will your parents be gone?”
“Till, like...nine.” He said. “I guess I didn't think about sneaking you over.”
“Goody-two-shoes.” I teased. “Gimme twenty.”
“Alright, um, what are we going to do?”
“We can hang, do homework, do each other.” I mused, and Alex immediately squeaked.
“Jack!”
“I'm teasing. Jeez,” I laughed. “We can watch movies, order pizza, and make out. Maybe I'll finger you again.”
“You're embarrassing me.” Alex muttered.

“Non one's listening, I swear.” I chuckled, heading back out the door and shouting where I was going to Rian's. “See you soon, Princess.”
