"Hey, Princess!"

I was now a few fair paces in front of Jack, and once I knew Rian and Zack couldn't hear us, I turned on my heel to face him.

"What?" I sighed, a little bit overly dramatic, but I think I have the right to be.

"Why are you walking away?" He asked. "I was just-"

I was now flailing my arms around, and probably looking ridiculous. "Just what? I know you're just making fun of me!" I whisper yelled, throwing the flannel that Jack had let me borrow to wear over my tee, on to the ground at his feet.

"I'm not-"

"I'm not dumb, Jack," I said, rolling my eyes, "and a real friend wouldn't pressure mebme in to anything, and definately not drugs. Sure, it was one thing dressing differeny, but I'm not going to put my health at risk for...for the sake of... well... you!"

Jack flinched at that, and if I wasn't so mad, or humiliated, I would have felt bad.

He stared at the ground, kicking the dirt below him and picking up the shirt, scrunching it into a tight ball. "Bro, I just wanted you to have some fun..."

I scoffed at the word 'bro' and turned back around, walking further away from everyone else. I was muttering under my breath, stomping like a little child.

"Lex, I'm sorry, okay, just come back!" He called after me. I wasn't sure if he was following me or not, and I didn't really care. Then it hit me, just then it that moment, my whole body was overtaken by anger.

"Shut the fuck up!" I yelled over my shoulder. Then I immediately stopped in my tracks. Realisation swarming me. He just made me cuss. I had to play it cool though, act as if he hadn't got to me. "How do I get out of this place?!"

I heard the crunch of a twig close behind me, meaning Jack was coming closer. He stopped right beside me, still looking at the ground. "I'll walk you back, c'mon."

"Kay."

We walked back in an uncomfortable silence, I was dragging my feet to emphasize how mad I was and Jack just lit up another death stick and played around on his phone, probably texting Zack and Rian about how much of a 'square' I was.
I didn't really know how to feel right now, I wanted him as far away from me as possible and not talk to me for a lifetime, but then another part of me wanted him to pay attention to me and for us to be okay again.

As we kept on walking, I started to recognise where we were, Thames street, almost home. Away from Jack.

I stuffed my hands in my back pockets and shuffled to a stop, deciding this was close enough, and I just wanted to go to my room and fall asleep for a billion years. Jack stopped next to me, looking around us awkwardly.

"I can walk from here." I stated.

"Okay," he sighed, "I'll see you at school," he stepped closer, stooped down a little and pressed his lips to my forehead softly before mumbling against them, "don't be mad at me forever."
