Sixteen

The reception was a blast. Everyone had a blast. Mir refrained from drinking, but she let me do it. I got wasted on champagne, wine, Jack Daniels, tequilla, vodka, absinth, and limoncello. She laughed at my drunk self and I knew she was wishing she could have had some with me. We danced to best of our efforts, even though I was a drunken mess. Luckily, at the end of the night Uncle Cosmin helped her get me to our bathroom so I could throw up if I needed too before he had to leave to take Mir's mom home.
"How are you feeling, sweetheart," Mir asked after she changed out of her dress and into her wedding jammies and her makeup washed off with her hair pulled up into a messy bun.
"Wasted," I answered before I started puking. She rubbed my back as I emptied my stomach of it's contents. It was back at the start of Warped Tour when the roles were reversed and I was helping her cope with being wasted.
"That's it baby. You're okay," she cooed as I finally stopped.
"I'm sleepy," I slurred, exhuasted.
"Come on I have the drunk bucket by your side of the bed," Mir helped me up and guided me to the bed, where I collapsed onto my pillows. She tucked me in under the covers and kissed my forhead.
"Goodnight Mrs. Barakat," I sighed and smiled.
"Good night my darling husband," she smiled and kissed my forehead again before she went to climb into bed on her side.

The week after, I took Mir in for her first doctor's visit and to get our first ultrsound. I was pretty excited to hear what the doctor had to say and to see the first images of my little baby growing in my wife's (I almost said girlfriend) womb. I wanted to also ask the doctor if she could travel during the pregnancy since I didn't want to tour without her.
"From what you have told me Mirela and based on the heathy signs I'm getting from you I see no problem in allowing travel during your pregnancy. You just need to maybe travel with a midwife to keep track of your prgress and health of both you and the baby," I was relieved that she was able to tour while pregnant.
The ultrsound tech came in after the doctor left and she prepped the equipment and Mir so she could get a look see at the baby.
"Ah there we are. It's not much for being only five weeks but we have a healthy baby," the tech pointed out the little fetus out on the monitor. Mir and I had huge smiles on our faces seeing our little tyke.
"It's too early to determine gender I take it," Mir asked.
"Correct. Give it a couple months when you start to show and then we can find out the gender," the tech explained.
"I want to be surprised. Who about you Mir," I asked my lovely wife.
"We want to be surprised. I just wanted an idea when gender would be determined," she clarified her curiosity.
"Well then when your midwife does an ultrsound while you two are traveling, she'll have to keep the secret," the tech said as she wrote down her finding into Mir's medical file. She then handed me the ultrasound pictures before she allowed us to leave.

I took Mir with me when I had to meet up with Alex for a Halloween themed Buzznet interview. Mir got me a makeshift batman costume since she loved Batman a lot. I got her a legit hot eskimo costume that she got moccasin boots to match with it. Alex painted his face like a skull. Mir wasn't quite showing yet but she was starting to raid my shirts since hers were getting tight on her. I was willing to share everything with her even before I was married to her.
"Tomorrow's a full moon," she said as I was driving us back to the bus to get to the next venue on the Rock Show at the End of the World tour.
"Yeah. You willing to sleep in the bunk alone tonight? The midwife knows nothing of werewolves and hunters so I can't risk exposing her," I asked her.
"Of course I'm willing. I won't like sleeping in bed without my husband, but it's only one night so it isn't too bad," I could tell she was finally starting to feel capable of being alone on full moons now. I think having the ring on her finger and being pregnant helped her find her strength again.
"I need you keep my wedding band safe for me tomorrow night okay," I grabbed her left hand with my right as I stayed focused on driving.
"You got it dude," she replied like Michele from Full House. We both laughed.

The sun was about to set and the full moon was close to rising. Mir was sitting with me outside, she was dress in a black tank top, her batman hoodie, black skinny jeans, and a pair of Batgirl sneakers that I got her as an anniversery gift. I got up and she followed suit. I got her into the bus and stripped quickly. The midwife was on the crew bus for the night so I wasn't worried about her seeing me at the moment. I handed my wedding band to Mir last. I heard the first groan of pain from Rian, meaning I was about to turn next.
"I love you Mir. See you in the morning," I kissed her quickly before I ran off the bus.
That's when I got hit with a wolf's bane dart. Right after it went in I started to turn. But I was starting to scream. It was tearing my muscles apart and breaking my bones slowly. I promised six years ago to not have a wolf's bane transformation again after what had happened my first full moon. I heard Mir's steps she wasn't off bus when I turned to her. My eyes weren't my normal ones, they were my wolf eyes. She looked scared, just like six years ago.
"Mir stay on that bus. I'll be fine," I yelled at her.
"You should be a wolf by now what's wrong," she wasn't going back inside.
"Mirela just go," I screamed as more pain shot through me. I fucking hate wolf's bane. It makes my turning a bitch to go through.
"Jack was it wolf's bane," she found the emptied dart. She was going to be scared and I was close to being my wolf now.
"Stay," I couldn't finish my statement as my wolf came out.
I started to snarl at her. The fear was in her eyes and the smell of being afraid hung on her. I was about to jump and bite her but Alex got inbetween us.
"She's your wife Jack. Go to the woods now," he snarled at me, protecting her.
"She is a hunter. She must learn to not fear me," I snarled at him. I wanted to teach her a lesson.
"She's human Jack. She's been human for four years. She's also pregnant. She's having your baby. She has to be protected," Alex wasn't going to stand down.
"Come on Jack we need to go for a run," Rian came over and stood next to Alex.
"Jack just go," Zack ran over to Alex's other side.
"Go for your run guys," Mir added as if she knew what was going on when she really didn't.
I took off running. I needed to feel the wind through my black fur. I finally realized that I nearly attacked my human wife. I was such an idiot and uncontrolled when I was under the effects of wolf's bane. Hunters shouldn't even be on our trail. How could a wolf's bane dart be shot at me?
"You satisfied with what you did to my daughter you damn animal," I got tripped by a whip. They same one that I remembered strangling me a year ago and cutting into my skin six years ago. I turned and growled at Dorin Lupei. The monster that attacking his own daughter and kept her prisoner before he later tried to kidnap her.
"Dorin you are not allowed in the States," I heard a familiar voice, one I knew I could trust.
"Stay out of this little brother," he addressed Mirela's unlce, Cosmin.
"You were to remain in Romania. You are here illegally. I will detain you if you do not stand down," Cosmin was surprisingly calm during this. I added to Cosmin's threats with a deep, low, menacing growl. I had to protect myself, my wife, and my unborn child. I had to protect my pack and my family.
"Cosmin he is loose and this is an unexcusable offense," Dorin tried to justify his reason to attack me.
"You have left me no choice," Cosmin flung a whip at Dorin and it caught him around his wrists, Jack, I need you to tackle him down. Don't bite him."
I did as Cosmin asked and jumped on Dorin's chest to knock him over. Cosmin came and injected a sedetive into Dorin's neck, knocking him unconscious.
"Be careful in the woods tonight Jack. Return to you bus by morning. Mir wants to see you as a wolf before you become human again," I should have known that Cosmin knew where I was based on what direction Mirela had watched me run off to. I nodded and took off to see my loving wife again.

"Jack," she called when I trotted to the bus. She was sitting on the bottom step of the bus. I jumped up and put my front paws on her lap before I gave her a big lick on the cheek, which earned me a giggle out of her. I looked over and I saw the sun rising. I felt my body extend and grow without pain as I became human again. Mir took the blanket from around her shoulders off and wrapped it around me. I kissed her softly after she had the blanket on me.
"Good morning," I greeted her.
"Good morning. Here's you ring back," I took my wedding band back from her and slid it back on my finger before I kissed her again.

Notes

This chapter was major long. I had to include a full night of wolfness though as I had promised. I like that Dorin is dead set on killing Jack. I promise that Cosmin is going to try keeping Dorin in Romania. I'm excited about the next few chapters of a pregnant Mirela seen through Jack's eyes.
