Hangover
My little Candy is getting married
It was just last night when my boy friend Kyle got on one knee and popped the question. We've been dating a little over a year now and I had already decided that I was full-on in love with him. So of course I said yes, but it was the way he said it and the pit of my stomche that just screamed as he said those words 'Will you marry me?'.
We were at his home town, in front of all of his family, his big greak family and they were just wonderful. Well except his mother, but we'll talk about that later. He was rich, but that wasn't why I married him it was because he was nice and handsome, his six pack was just out of this world. And of course the sex was great, we had been together in High School, took a break for a few years and then I met up with him again at my best friends shows.
Actually that's where I was heading, my home town of Baltimore because I had to tell my best friends that I Sophie Castronovo was getting married. I was the youngest out of the group, next to Katie and I think it will be a surprise to everyone. I was kind of nervous though, because the one I've known for longest never really liked Kyle. He would get along with him for my sake but he absolutely wanted to rip out Kyle's insides.
Alex and I have known each other since we were seven, when he moved here from the UK and he moved right next to me. My parents had invited his over to my house for dinner, soon they were best friends and so were we. We played peter pan all the time, I was always Wendy and of course he was always Peter. But as we grew older, we grew a part because I had grown more into the 'it' crowd and Alex just wasn't that kind of person. And then in grade 8 he transfered out of private school and into public. We saw each other once in a while but never stopped to ask how any of us were doing.
In grade nine we were in the same Homeroom. I was sitting with one girl names Ellie, who sooned to turn out to be a back stabbing bitch and Alex was the only one who had an open seat so I sat beside him. We ended up exchanging numbers again. He introduced me to his new friends Jack and Rian who were also in grade nine. I just occasionally waved to them in the hall.
But one night, my Mom wanted me to give Alex's Mom Isobel a gift for her birthday so when I knocked on the door, Alex, Jack, Rian and very attractive boy (I was 14!) answered and I smiled. Alex invited me in, Jack then dragged me to the basement where I have been times before but it was a bit different. I was introduced to Zack, and I had made a mental note to tell Katie about him. But Jack told me to stay where I was, sitting on a bean bag chair and they all picked up an instrument. (Well except Rian, but you know). And they started to play 'Dammit' by Blink 182 and I was impressed, they could play.
So long story short, I came over after school every day after that and I grew up with the band. But when Kyle and I started dating, Alex became very angry and sometimes ignored me. I didn't understand why, Kyle was nothing but nice to Alex and the other boys would just shrug and shake their head when I asked them about it.
I pulled up to Alex's appartment, where Isobel had told me they would all be and I knocked on the door. Cassadee Pope, one of my all time favourite singers answered, she was dating Rian and I was very happy for them only because Alex and I could both see it from a mile away. Rian was so shy around her it wasn't even funny. She pulled me into a hug and yelled to the boys.
"I have a surprise!" Cassadee yelled, I gave her the 'one sec' finger and told her to be quiet. "Wait up there, give me a minute"
I then held up my left hand, she held in her squeal as she jumped up and down and hugged me even more. I laughed a bit, and she smiled. Took my hands and dragged me up stairs, she stopped me by the wall and smiled at my four idiots, that I call friends.
"What was it that you said, babe?" Rian asked, and Cassadee Smiled so big that I thought I was going to faint.
"A surprise"
"I'm not really up this right now" Grumpy old Alex Gaskarth moaned and I laughed.
"Fine I can just go home then" I said, I heard the room go silent and then people running and tripping over to the wall. Soon Jack's head popped around the corner and I was enveloped into his arms. More people joined the hug and I sneakily shoved a mitten on my left hand.
Alex them pulled me into a separate hug and kissed my head.
"I missed you so much" He whispered and rocked me back and forth.
We all settled down in the living room of Alex's appartment and I sat beside him, my hand on the inside of his arm as it wrapped around me.
"So, uh What made you come to Baltimore?" Zack asked and I smiled. I got up from the couch once again and stood in front of all of them.
"What happened to your hand?" Rian asked, gesturing to my mitten and I turned red a bit. I caught a glint of Cassadee's eyes as she snugged into Rian a bit more.
"Cass isn't the only one who has a surprise" I muttered audiably and all four of them sat up a bit. I started carefully taking off the mitten on my hand and soon as it finally was off, they all gasped.
"No" Alex whined a bit, I knit my eye brows together but then Jack came barrelling at me.
"Fucking way!" He continued and squeezed me even more.
Zack stood up and gave me another tight hug and his muscles relaxed around me and soon Rian joined them. I was glad I had their approval but I looked straight at Alex as he sat there in shock. I giggled a bit more and Zack nudged him out of shock.
"Woah, uh just wow" Alex sputtered out, before standing up and wrapping his arms around me. "My little candy is getting married'
I cringed at the childhood nick name he had given me when I was eleven and at so much candy I threw up. But I knew this was my Lex and he approved of Kyle.
"I say this deserves a bit of celebrating!" Jack rang out as a pop came from behind me and champange was flowing onto the floor. I laughed a bit, when Alex wouldn't let go. I knew he saw me as a little sister because I was there with him through everything. But I had to ask him one more thing before he got drunk.
I grabbed Alex's hand for a moment, excused us from the room and we stood in the kitchen,
"Listen-" Alex stared off but I interrupted him.
"I know you this is all so fast, and I also know you don't like Kyle as much as I do but I need to ask you a favor"
"It is, but you love him Candy and I want you to be happy, even when it's with someone I don't like and sure anything for you"
"WIll you walk me down the isle?"
