I've got a bone to pick with you

So I skipped the rest of that week after my birthday. I went home and didn't leave, I let Alana drive my car and I just walked around the house in my underwear and a bra. I ate and watched movies all week and by the time I was just starting to like this whole no school thing Alana walks in my room and bursts my bubble. "Paige, you will be attending school today. You can't continue on like this." I sat up in my bed. "And why not?!" I asked completely serious. I have plenty of money, I don't have to finish school. Maybe I'll just leave for New York and try for a career in music like I've always planned.

"Cause you've missed and entire week already and today is tuesday. Plus I will not walk alone at graduation." She said sternly taking a step toward the bed. I hoped up out of my covers, shoving my hands up defensively. "Alright, Alright. Jeez!" I said heading to my dresser. "I'm leaving in 20 minutes if you're not ready I'm leaving with out you but I'll come back but I'll bring Avery." She warned leaving my room. I tossed off my underwear and bra throwing them across the room.

"Bitch!" I yelled. "It's for your own good." She said back. I rolled my eyes slipping on new undergarments. I pulled a blue knit sweater over my bra and some blue jeans. Along with socks I pulled on my shoes. I stood up walking into the bathroom. I sighed and put tooth paste on my brush and shoved it in my mouth. I then pulled a brush through my hair. I kind of went crazy over this last week. I went out and got my lip pierced along with a tattoo on my left wrist over my scars.

I finish and pull my hair into a bun at the base of my neck. I pull on mascara and eyeliner when Alana walks back in. "Ready?" She asks. I turn with my tooth brush hanging out of my mouth. She raised her hands in defeat this time. "Ok, a few more minutes it is." I continued to brush my teeth and do make up. Walking out a pick up my bag as Alana follows me down stairs. I grab the keys and go to my car. Sliding in I feel at home even though I just left, I love this car. It was my brothers favorite as well as mine.

I pull out my drive way heading to the school. "Put a smile on your face right now." She said. I looked at her. "Why? The bitches are gonna beat me." "Yeah, well I'm gonna try to not let that happen, but really just Jack asked about you..." She trailed off. "Oh really? Probably needed someone to get him off." I said under my breath. "But you know what's more interesting?" She said as I raised an eyebrow at her. "Mr.Gaskarth Keeps asking about you. I was really confused now.

"That's weird..." I said getting out of my car once parked. "I know but none the less, you're gonna have a good day and get good grades and graduate with me." She said in a begging demanding tone. I walked around the car and took her arm as we walked into the building. We made it towards my locker before I was attacked onto the ground. "Holy Fuck, where the hell have you been?!" Avery yelled at me, whilst sitting atop my body. "Ave, get off me." I whined.

"Do you promise never to leave like that like ever again?" He said. I rolled my eyes. "Yes, now get ya fat ass off me!" He stood up and offered me a hand. I got up but was pushed back to the ground. "Just stay there." Bree said smirking with her arms crossed. "Leave her alone." Alana said to them. "Since when do you try to tell us what to do?" Lisa asked Alana. "It doesn't matter, Leave her alone." She spoke again. Ashley got close and personal with Alana. I shot up.

"Hey," Their attention turned to me. "Yeah, still here and I'm ready to get this day going so if you wanna push my buttons I'll beat the shit out of you." I warned. Bree took a step forward, now getting close to me. Normally I would back down but I just don't give a damn anymore. She was shocked I didn't back away but held it together. "Finally attempting to fight back I see." Bree said. "Yep, now leave." I said smiling. She picked her hands up and pushed my shoulders. "No." "I'm warning you." I said as she chuckled.

"Warning me," She pushed again. "About what?" "I'll kick your ass." I said as she pushed me up against the lockers. She got close to my face. "I'd like to see you try." She challenged me. I took initiative and grabbed her arm twisting it around and shoving her fast up against the lockers. I leaned into her ear. "What was that? Oh right, challenge accepted." I said and let go. Ashley grab my shoulders and I whipped around and let my fist collide with her jaw. "Don't touch me bitch." I said. Lisa just stood there astounded that I actually stood up.

I stepped back and she helped the two of them leave the hall way. "That was so cool." Avery said throwing his arm over my shoulders. "Yeah it was, and it felt good." Alana smiled as we headed to class. I sat down as he began teaching, I finished but didn't do anything but sit there and think about how that just happened and maybe I'm finally free. The bell rang for this class and my next class and I thought of the same thing and now I headed towards third.

Only one problem though, Jack. I stopped in and took my seat dropping my bag per usual. I pulled out my composition notebook and jotted down various lyrics I thought were cool. Then the bell rang signaling class to begin. Jack walked in a few minutes late and his hair tucked into a beanie and scruff on his jaw, more than usual, and his shirt sleeves poorly rolled up. “Alright guys, same thing as yesterday. Hope to it.” He said sitting at his desk. I leaned over to Austin. “What are we doing?” I asked.

“We’re creating another song and composing it but it has to be based on an emotion and then the class will guess your emotion. It’s due Friday.” I nodded and leaned back to my seat. I looked down and continued on the lyrics I was working on. Eventually the bell rang and I threw my journal in my bag. I tossed the bag in my chair and headed over to Jack’s desk. “Stand up.” I said almost startling him, like he didn’t even notice I was in class.

He did as I asked and I sat him on the edge of the desk. I pulled down his sleeves and started to reroll them. “Where were you, I was worried?” He said trying to get me to look at his face. “Home,” I looked up at his face. “If you were so worried you know where I live.” I said to him. “I know…” He looked down. I blew out some air. “Then what stopped ya?” I asked a little frustrated. ”I… just, I mean I really don’t know…” He said letting those brown eyes pull at my heart strings.

I rolled my eyes. “Sir, you really drive me crazy sometimes! Alright, we can still talk and see each other but we won’t be seeing each other. Maybe you can win me back, maybe, but ever since I got this,” I showed my tattoo. “Beat up my bullies and called my dad, I have this new sense of self worth like no matter what anyone says my life is worth the space I take up and the air I waste.” He smiled. “Really, even after what happened you’ll just take me back like that?”

I nodded. “Well, yeah. That’s what we do for the people in our lives that we love and are important to us.” He smiled and pulled me into a hug. “You’re perfect you know that.” “Yeah, Yeah. Save it for another time.” I said as the bell rang. “Gotta go.” I said and kissed his cheek. “Bye, Babe.” He said. I turned around and he sat on the edge of his desk with his bottom lip in his teeth. I shook my head and with my bag on my shoulders I left that room.

So what I thought was the hard part is done now only one period away from the really confusing part of this once thought to be a 2 piece puzzle, now turned 3 pieces. Alex. He confusing and strange and different and I love it. It’s fun and he seems genuine and actually cares and besides Alana the only person to know about the truth with Bradley. I stepped into my second to last class and next to Avery like I always do. It’s gonna be interesting…
