I zipped up my suitcase and set it by the front door, "You all packed up yet?" I asked, leaning against the door frame.

"Not quite." Jack said as he rushed across the room and pulled open one of our dressers.

"Lookin' for something?" I asked, eyebrows bunching together as I walked across the room to where he is.

"Yeah, I can't find the blanket Larissa and Heaven made for our daughter. Remember the purple one with polka dots and some zebra print?" He rushed.

I laughed and pulled his hands from the dresser and closed it, "It's already in your carry on, Jack. Calm down."

He sighed and laid his head down on my shoulder, "Sorry, I'm just so stressed out and nervous for the baby." He said frowning before continuing, "I mean... What if she doesn't like us? What if she thinks having two daddies is weird? What if, what if..." I pushed my lips to his to quiet him; it worked.

"For the last time, calm down." I said softly, "and she's not even born yet so she probably won't know the difference. And if she thinks having two dads is weird, well... Tough nuts to her. She's stuck with us."

Jack laughed against my shoulder and kissed it, "You're right."

"Aren't I always? C'mon, we need to make our flight." I kissed him quickly to hint that we hand to hurry as I grabbed our bags and headed out the door.

I smiled down at the sleeping figure on my shoulder. We were both cuddled up under the baby blanket trying to get our scent on it. Jack passed out not even three hours into the flight, as for I have been awake the whole time watching him.

Jack started to squirm awake, his glasses falling off in the process. I giggled and pushed them up for him as he sat up and stretched.

"Hi." He mumbled, throwing his head back on my shoulder.

"Hey babe." I smiled down at him.

"How long have I been asleep?"

I laughed, "A while. We still have a couple more hours to go."

"We still haven't thought of names for her." I said softly into his hair.

"I maybe have a middle name picked out." He responded.

"Oh really? What might that be?" I mused, throwing my arm around his bony shoulders.

"I like 'May'. You'know, for my sister."

I smiled and nodded, "Yeah, perfect. But we need a first name." I pushed.

Jack buried his head in my chest and mumbled something I didn't catch.

"What what was?"

"Can we name her Lexi?" He whispered.

I scrunched up my nose in concentration before laughing, "You'd have to stop calling me that during sex them."

Jack snorted, "Obviously."

"Well then Lexi May Gaskarth, it is." I said smiling down at Jack.

He returned the same genuine smile before leaning up to kiss me and then the blanket.

It's almost time. It's almost time for me to meet our daughter. Our Lexi May. Jack got to go into the delivery room and he's getting to cut her umbilical cord. I of course wanted to do it also but when only one of us were allowed back there, I let Jack go.

I leaned my head against the door and sighed.

My breath caught in my throat and my hand flew up to cover my moth when I heard tiny whimpers and then a loud cry as tears started to pour down my cheeks.

"Are you okay?" A man asked with his thick British accent as he crossed my path.

I nodded furiously, "More than okay. I'm a dad!"

My volume made the man jump a little but he smiled and patted my back, "Make that two of us." He said smiling.

"I'm so scared." I admitted softly, lip quivering.

"I have three of my own. This is my fourth. You can do it. It's the hardest yet best job in the world." He said with a smile.

"Yay, two full time difficult jobs." I laughed.

"Excuse me?" He asked.

"Firemen." I replied and he nodded.

"Well best of luck to you." Was all he said before walking away to go in the room down the hall.

"Hey, Lex?" Jack whispered through the opened door. He was dressed in baby blue scrubs and the mask pulled down his face to hang off his neck.

"Yeah?" I replied quietly.

"Ready to meet your daughter?" He asked with a smile.

I nodded and stood up as we walked in the room.

The birth mother was sleeping as she was being cleaned up and in the corner of the room was a small table with a purple bundle on top.

"Is that her?" I gasped.

Jack smiled and nodded as he pushed me towards the table.

Other than the purple blanket, the bow atop her head, the sheets of the table, and her diaper were pink.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I looked down at the small baby bundled up neatly in the blanket. She already had a thin mop of blonde hair but we couldn't see her eyes cause she was sleeping.

"Are babies supposed to be that small?" I questioned and Jack snorted.

"The doctor said she's a naturally small baby but she's a healthy weight and everything."

I sighed with relief as Jack lent over and kissed my temple, "Wanna hold her?"

My head whipped around so fast it popped, "Doesn't Taylor wanna hold her first?"

"No, She's requested not to see her." He said softly.

"Then yeah, I wanna hold her." I smiled as I carefully placed my hand under her tiny head and the other on her back and pulled her gently into my chest. I 'awwwed' when she made a tiny squeak noise in the process.

"I haven't held a newborn since Heaven was born." I said as I softly rocked back and forth.

"She's so beautiful." Jack said from behind be, placing his hands on my waist and swayed with us.

"Why doesn't Taylor want to see her?" I asked when I noticed her bed was gone.

"Cause she feels like she'd get attached and not want to give her up." Jack relied.

"Well good, cause I'm already attached." I smiled as I leaned forward and kissed Lexi Mays soft fore head.

"We're daddies, Alex. Just like you've always wanted." Jack mumbled into my neck as we both dazed down at the sleeping figure in my arms.

"What if I'm not good enough of a father for her cause i'll always be working?" I said frowning.

"Baby don't worry about that. I'll bring her to the station so you can see her when you do long shifts, and she has so many great uncles and your sister and Larissa. She'll be surrounded by people who lover her and she'll know you love her. We'll be fine, Lex." Jack comforted. I couldn't help the small tear that ran down my cheek.

"Hey now, no crying. We'll be hearing a lot of that for a long time." he laughed quietly, averting a playful glare to Lexi.

"You're right."

We were so caught up talking sweet nothings to Lexi trying to keep her asleep that we didn't hear the door open.

"Mr and Mr Gaskarth?" The doctor called, "Yes?" Jack said with a weird frown. This was supposed to be our bonding time before our plane ride back.

"We need to take the baby back for some tests." He said walking up to us. I nodded and kissed her fore head before setting her back down on the small table, Jack leaning down and doing the same.

The doctor smiled and wheeled our baby out of the room.

"I hope she's okay." I said with a frown.

"I bet she's fine. Just normal check up tests, you know?" Jack reassured, leaning down to peck my lips.

"Wanna try and see when we can take her home?" Jack asked with a smile.

I nodded as we walked out of the room to try and fine a nurse.

We walked up to the reception desk and the lady smiled sweetly, "May I help you two?"

Jack squeezed my hand before answering, "Hi, our baby that we adopted was just born and we were just wondering when we could take her back home to America."

The receptionist smiled before typing away at her computer, "What's the babies name?"

"Lexi May Gaskarth." I responded proudly.

"Well the tests they're taking on her might take a while and she needs to stay over night for observation. Do you guys have a hotel?"

"We do." Jack said nodding.

"We have your contact numbers so if something goes wrong or changes we shall call you and let you know."

"Okay thank you." I said as we turned on our heels.

"Wanna just go back to the hotel and get some sleep?" Jack asked as he rubbed my back softly.

"Yeah, that'd be nice.

Jack smiled and walked us out to our rental car. I already banned Jack from driving cause he doesn't know how the roads work as we drove off.

It was when we were at a stop light did we both turn around to look at each other and let out the most girly screams and flails of our arms.

"We have a daughter!" I shrieked and Jack nodded furiously. He grabbed my face and smashed our lips together. A loud honk broke us apart when the light was apparently green.

I have no idea how parenting works but I'm glad I have a family, great friends, and a gorgeous and wonderful husband.

Jack and I woke up tangled together in the sheets. I checked my phone to see over twenty text messages from people like my parents, Heaven, Larissa, Zack, Rian, and even Flyzik.

I replied by sending each one of them a picture of Lexi, her weight and height, and a picture of her footprints.

I jumped when my phone started to ring and saw it was a number I didn't recognize. I almost hung up but I answered it instead.

"Hello?"

"Hi, is this Alexander Gaskarth?" A lady replied.

"Speaking.."

"Hi, Mr. Gaskarth, we need you and your husband at the hospital." She said and my mouth ran dry.

"O-okay, we'll be there soon." I said fast and hung up.

Jack fell back asleep but I shook him awake, "Jack they need us at the hospital." I said shakily.

"Is it about Lexi?" He said sitting up quickly.

"Yes, who else would it be about?!" I shouted as I hopped off the bed and threw out whatever article of clothing was closest to me.

"Let's go!" I shouted again as Jack pulled on his shoes and ran out the door with me.
