Alex's POV

I heard the front door burst opened and rushed into the hall to see Nebraska storm in, turning her face away from me.
"Neb?!" I tried to catch her.
"I can't fucking do it!" She screamed, running straight past me and into my bedroom, locking the door behind her.
"Nebraska? Please come out. What happened?" I said gently through the door. She didn't respond. "I'm going to wait here until you do come out, okay?" I sat on the floor outside the room. The front door opened again and Jack wandered in.
"What are you doing on the floor?"
"Waiting for Nebraska to come out."
"Why? What did you do? Did you have sex with her? Does she regret it? Because I know I would if I were her." Jack said jokingly.
"Jack..." I shook my head and his smile faded.
"Oh," he mumbled quietly, realising that this was serious. He gave me a tight smile and proceeded to the kitchen to raid the fridge.

I sat there for a good half hour with no response from Nebraska, until I heard the door lock click back. I stood up and waited for her to come out.
"Alex?" Her voice sounded so small from inside the room.
"Yeah I'm still here..." I opened the door slowly and peeked inside to find Nebraska sitting crosslegged on the bed, the bottom half of her face hiding behind the pillow she was clutching against her chest. "Hey..." I said softly, closing the door behind me and sitting next to her on the bed. She lowered the pillow to show a purple and swollen left cheekbone. "Oh love." A tear rolled down her cheek and she sighed.
"I'm sorry for dragging you into this," she sobbed.
"Don't say that. I'll always be here for you. I love you..." I said. She frowned and my eyes went wide as I realised what I had said. "Err... A-as much as a bestfriend should... Y'know?" I tried to cover it up, dropping the friendship bomb.
"Yeah. Love you too Alex," she sighed. I put my arm around her and pulled he into a hug. We sat there for a while in silence...

"Come on tour with me," I blurted out.
"What?"
"Come on tour," I repeated.
"But... I can't. I can't leave. What about Cody?"
"I think he will be fine. Judging by the mark left on your pretty little face, you said something to upset your father, but I reckon it put him into place."
"Really?"
"Truely."
"Well... Where are you touring? What am I supposed to do on tour?"
"Canada and Europe. We could use a merch girl? We seem to sell a lot more women's shirts than men's, so if there was a chick selling them maybe more guys would buy them... Sex sells." I winked at her. "And after all, what are you going to do while we are away anyway?"
She bit her lip as she thought about it. "Fine. I'll come. Only because you need me."
"Jesus, you make it sound like it's a bad thing! But thank you. It's going to be great!" I said before kissing her good cheek.

Nebraska's POV

"But you'll be all the way in Europe?!" Cody said to me as we walked back to my car. I had decided to take him out for dinner to tell him the news Alex had presented to me a week ago.
"I know, but for my brother I would fly home in a heartbeat if anything happened. You know that!" I pulled him into a hug.
"Seriously?"
"Yeah dude... How's Dad?"
"He's actually been pretty cool. He must have listened when you screamed at him last week."
"You heard all that?"
"...Yeah."
"I'm sorry."
"It's fine. Anyway, you're getting out of here tomorrow!!! Get keen!" Cody hugged me again.
