Homecoming

My wish is coming true

Kennadee continued to work and film throughout our whole concert. She looked so happy to be here watching us work. I’m not going to lie, I was just as happy to have her here with me. I don’t ever want her out of my life ever again. Now I just need to convince Daniella that she is not going anywhere. Something Kenna told me earlier hit me hard, that she dropped out of school to come here. I have got to convince her that she needs to at least finish high school; it’s an important thing to accomplish here in the U.S. in my opinion. It will give her more opportunities in life than to be a high school dropout.
When I get off stage I run straight for the media room to talk to her about everything including the life I have now with Dani and the boys. She has got to understand that I have another family and she has got to get along with them.
“Hey sweetheart, can we talk some more?”
“Yeah, sure. Let me put this away and I will be right back," I waited a few moments before she came huffing back in, "What's up...Alex?" It was as if she didn't know what to call me when she said it.
"Um... so I just want to know more about you. Why are you not in school? You know I have a family to take care of right? Where are you living?"
"Well I dropped out because I was getting scolded at for getting good grade and bad grades so I said fuck it. Um yes I know you have a family, BUT I am your daughter remember?! Plus I didn't come here to ruin your little family, I came here to get away from the bad things in Nashville. Lastly, I am living in the Townson Inn downtown, but why do you care? Now if you don't mind I am going to finish up my job and leave for the night. Thanks for nothing I guess," she finished as she walked out of the room.
Wow, I just have to ruin everything right when I get back to when everything is going my way again. I guess I need to figure out how to talk to the teenage me again. She is definitely as feisty as me and he mom together at 16. Only she is smarter since you know she didn't have a kid at 15 like we did. I need to get her back in my family's life; my parents have not been the same since she stopped coming around 13 years ago.
I decide to go straight back home to talk it out with Daniella. As I make my way home I notice that I am beginning to go in the direction of downtown. It is like my body knows what I need to do before my heart/mind knows what is going on. When I get there I take a moment to compose myself before I get out of the car.
“Hi miss,” I begin to say to the receptionist, “I am looking for a Kennadee Fields, can you tell me what room she is in?”
“Room 234B around the corner, would you like me to call her for you?”
“No, thank you!” I say as I rush to her room. It’s now or never to save this relationship for good. Once I get to her room I knock on the door and wait it out.
“One moment!” I hear her say from the room.”What can I do –“ she begins as she opens the door to reveal me. She then begins to slam the door in my face. I was able to stop her though by putting my foot in the doorway.
“Please Kenna; I just want to talk.”
“Fine,” she says as she opens the door wider, “come in I guess.”
I walk in and sit on the bed to take in the tiny room. “How are you able to stay at this dump?” I blurt out.
“It’s not as bad as it looks,” she shrugs, “it’s better than sleeping on the streets, which is what I was doing before this place.”
“What? Kennadee Jade! You know you could have stayed with me.”
“And ruin your perfect little life that you have got now? Yeah I think not, DAD!”
“It’s not like that Kenna; I never stopped thinking about you.”
“I can tell by the way your new wife looked at me when she found out you had a daughter for the first time. Just tell me why and I will leave you alone.”
“Amber wouldn’t let me see you Kenna;I tried to call you many time but she never put you on the phone. Let me prove it to you please.”
“How?” she sounded defeated.
“By moving in with me,” I blurt out. “We would love to have you live with us.”
“Are you joking me?” she replies with a smirk, “what’s the catch?”
“You enroll in high school again is the only condition.”
“I’ve dreamed about you asking me to live with you for a very long time. The conversation never was like this. But I guess I can live with that condition; do you want to ask your family first?”
“Nope, she will be delighted to have you. Now pack up, we’ve got to go get your room put together.”

I'm so glad Alex dumped his wife but if theres going to be a fight between him and Kennadee then I'll be excited!
@mkelly
I've always enjoyed fanfictions that have a dad in a band so I'm hooked no matter where you bring this story, bipolar or not bipolar.
