I'm Gonna Break Down These Walls
Alex's Prologue
"Alex, we're almost at your new school!" My mom said in her sugar sweet tone of voice.
"Huh?" I asked, pulling my earbud out.
"We're about half a mile from Green Hills," she replied, obviously exasperated.
"Whoopie" I exclaimed in my most sarcastic possible tone. You see, I don't want to go to a boarding school. My mom insists that due to bad grades in the past, I need to "surround myself with a learning environment" and crap like that. I'm fine with going to a normal school with normal people where I can have my normal friends and attend my normal classes and try not to fall asleep. That's my vision, but unfortunately it is not my mom's vision and she decided where I go to school.
"Oh don't sound so unenthusiastic about it, it'll be fun! You'll meet loads of new people." She stated.
"I'm fine with my old friends and old school! I don't get why I have to go here!" I said, growing angrier.
"You're going to have a great time, mister," She said through her teeth. I decided to shut up. When she called me "mister" I knew she meant business.
"Oh look, we're here!" She exclaimed jubilantly. I have to admit, the campus is nice. The school is right on the ocean and everything looks really nice. She pulled up to the curb and dropped me off.
"Text ya later!" She said and drove off, leaving me alone. I was a bit steamed at her and was trying to hold in my anger when I was greeted by the most beautiful girl I'd ever seen.
"I like your shirt," she said awkwardly gesturing to my Blink-182 tee.
"Thanks," I replied with a smile.
