A few days later, the school had declared it a half day, and Victoria was completely thrilled. The band had finally found a base player and they were going to play all together today. And she was the first to hear.

The new guy, Zack, was chosen for his ability to play base without an actual pick. Not to mention her could also do a triple kick-flip with his skateboard. He was also really quiet, which made him Victoria’s favorite out of the whole group.

They had started to play “Head On Collision” by New Found Glory and Victoria instantly fell in love with their whole sound. They all sounded perfect together and it was then that she knew they were going to be huge. All Time Low was going to be a sucker punch to the nation.

Later that afternoon, Alex and Victoria left to hang by the woods. Victoria remembered Jack giving her a stupid kissy face as she walked away, only leaving her to suspect that he knew how she felt about Alex. Now that she thought about it, was it really that easy to tell?

Victoria stared up at the emerald green trees as she sat on the ground. Alex swung on the rickety swing as he played music from his phone. “Rian was recording us today,” he finally spoke up. “He wants us to get a list together of songs to put on a demo.”

“You guys are already thinking about demos?” Victoria lofted a brow.

“This is my dream, Hamilton. You can understand that more than anyone.” He said, making her look down and play with the dirt on the ground. He cleared his throat, continuing. “I―uh―really liked that song you played in your room yesterday.”

“‘Night Drive?’”

“Yeah,” he smiled, “it really got me thinking.”

“Didn’t you tell me it was bad to think?” She asked as he sat down next to her on the ground.

“Don’t twist my words, Hamilton.” He smirked, plopping on the ground.

She chuckled. “Okay, tell me what you were thinking about.”

“Can I ask you a question first?”

“Sure.” She shrugged.

“Do you like me more than a friend?” He asked while looking down.

Victoria stared at him with wide eyes. She had no words. “I …”

“Push me away if you don’t like what I’m going to do.” He said, reaching for her face to pull her closer.

In a matter of seconds, his lips connected to hers. Warmth filled all of Victoria’s body―from her fingers to her toes. She then tangled her fingers in his hair as he pulled her closer from the small of her back. Their lips moved in perfect sync, almost as if they were made for each other since birth.

Victoria had wanted this since the first time she saw him, but in some ways, it felt odd. It wasn’t like she anything really special. She wasn’t as pretty as most girls at school. She wasn’t ridiculously thin, but a little curvy around the hips. She didn’t have the beautiful heart shaped face, but one that looked square-ish. She didn’t have long, straight hair, only choppy cut, dark blonde hair to the middle of her shoulders. She wasn’t really the girl guys went for at all.

So why was he kissing her right now?

He finally broke the kiss and leaned away, leaving his eyes closed and his forehead on hers. “I really like you, Victoria.”

And that was her selling point: he called her by her first name.

All she did was smile before she noticed the sick look on his face. “Please say something before I throw up.”

“Oh,” she laughed softly. “I like you too, Gaskarth.”

He opened his eyes, staring at her with his beautiful dark brown orbs. “I’m such a fag. I did everything wrong from this point, didn’t I?”

She giggled and pecked his lips. “You did everything right, little faggot.”
