Bulletproof Love
Just 6 Days
The next morning, Victoria was officially grounded until the start of school. Six days. She had to spend the rest of her summer cooped up in her house. At the start of the summer, she wouldn’t have really cared if this happened. (It wouldn’t have even happened at all if things were like the start of the summer.) But since Alex, she couldn’t stay at her house for an hour without wanting to see him. She shouldn’t have felt this way, since he probably felt the exact opposite.
After being stuck inside for two days, she heard a knock at her window, becoming startled. These two days without contact with anyone started to feel like the two months at the start of the summer. She walked over to the window and saw Alex sitting on the ledge, waving to her.
“No talking for two days, Hamilton? Are you starting to get sick of me?” Seeing the worried look on her face, he smiled to show her he was kidding. Little did he know she was this way because of the news she had to break to him. “By the way, thanks for bringing me back home. Parents didn’t suspect anything.”
“It was no problem.” She shrugged.
“Anyways, I’m headed over to that guy Jack’s house to hang and talk about starting a band. He wanted to know if you wanted to come.”
She sighed. “Alex, I’m grounded until school starts.”
“What? Why?”
She narrowed her eyes at him. “Oh, I don’t know. Maybe it could have something to do with sneaking out to a party I wasn’t supposed to go to.”
“Sarcasm was not needed for that statement.” He sneered.
“Sorry,” she muttered. “But I’ll see you in six days.”
She got excited at the happy look in his eyes at her last sentence. “That’s true. Remember: you’re helping me to school.”
She smiled. “I make sure to mark it on my calendar.”
And that was just what she did.
