Have faith in the unfaithful.

Its been a whole 2 weeks since I arrived back in New York and I'm loving it, Dan and I are growing closer than ever and I haven't heard a thing from Alex, Jay or anyone else. Dan will be here in about an hour to pick me up for our 6th date! Can you believe we've had 6 dates? Knock knock knock went my front door. I walked over to it and opened it. It was Alex. He didn't say anything, he just pushed past me and walked straight in.
“Do you mind? This isn't your house Alex!” I said.
“The others made me come over, they thought you might listen to me. You can't see Dan any more, you remember what he did, I can't live with myself knowing that you're with someone like that, please please please just stay away from him” He said.
“You should've thought about that before you decided you wanted nothing to do with me” I spat.
“Lauren please” He said.
“No Alex. You hurt me twice now, I think I deserve to get my life back rather than waiting around for you all the time, don't you?”
“Lauren, you walked out on us, you kissed Jack. I just can't forgive that” He said.
“I didn't kiss Jack, Jack kissed me! You slept with Lisa just so you could break up with me, now leave, Alex, before Dan gets here” I said.
“Fine. But just go careful, okay” He said and then left. I sat down on the sofa and ran a hand through my hair. Alex really needs to stop interfering with my life. But then, I did walk out on them. Jack and Alex would have sorted it out even if I didn't leave. So maybe it is my fault that they all hate me. I ran upstairs and did the one thing I promised to never do again. I self harmed. A year ago I made a promise to Jay and Alex that I'd never do it again, but they promised me they'd always be here for me, and now their not. I guess you could say we're even. I searched for a plaster to cover up the small but deep cuts on my leg. Then I re applied my make up and went downstairs. 10 minutes until Dan gets here. I put my phone and purse in my bag, slipped my shoes on, washed the bowl and spoon that were in the sink then sat and waited for Dan to get here. Knock knock knock I got up and hurried over to the door. I opened it and Dan pulled me into a hug.
“You look beautiful” He said.
“Thank you” I smiled. It wasn't a real smile though. It was my first fake smile since I got back from Baltimore. And it's Alex's fault. We got into Dan's car and drove off.
“So where are we going?” I asked.
“Do you really want to know?” He looked at me.
“Yes” I said.
“We're going to the aquarium” He said with a big smile on his face.
“Yay” I fake cheered. The last time I was here was with Jay just a few days before I took off. This was going to bring back some memories.

Dan parked a little away from the doors and we went in. I was mesmerised by the fish and Dan was laughing at how interested I was.
“Stop laughing at me” I pouted.
“Its just so cute how mesmerised you are” He said. I pouted some more, then he bent down and kissed me. We walked around hand in hand a bit more until I felt my leg start bleeding again. I looked around for the bathrooms and ran off as soon as I spotted one. I locked myself in a stall and put pressure on the cuts until the stopped bleeding. Then I walked back out and looked up at Dan who looked worried.

“Lauren you scared me half to death, what was all that about?” He asked.
“Can we go and sit down somewhere?” I asked. He nodded and we went into the little café. The same café that me and Jay sat in last time I was here.
“Why did you run off?” Dan asked. I took a deep breath.
“My leg was bleeding” I whispered.
“What? Why? Did Alex do it?” He asked, looking pissed off.
“No no, it wasn't Alex” I said.
“Who was it then?” He asked. I looked down at my lap and let a few tears fall.
“Me” I mumbled.
“Who?”
“Me” I said even louder and looked him dead in the eye. He looked back at me then walked over to my side of the table and pulled me into a hug.
“Lauren, you're too beautiful to do that to yourself, I'm here, next time you feel like doing that, call me, okay?” He said. He knelt down next to my seat and held both of my hands.
“Thank you Dan” I said. He leaned in and kissed me. We pulled apart and Dan looked behind me and his eyes narrowed.
“What are you looking at?” I asked.
“They're glaring at us” Dan said. I looked around and guess who it was, Jay, Emma, Max, Alex, Jack, Rian and Zack, all glaring at me and Dan.
“That's my family and Alex's band” I said. Dan looked back at me.
“Do you want to go?” He asked. I shook my head.
“Not yet, I like it here, let's not let them bother us” I said.
“Are you thinking what I'm thinking?” Dan smirked.
“Hell yes” I smiled back at him. He kissed me again then sat back down in his seat.
“These past few weeks with you have been amazing, Lauren. I'm glad you forgave me” He said, rather loudly.
“I'm glad I forgave you too, Dan. I've had so much fun with you, especially last night” I said and looked out of the corner of my eye. They were glaring at us in disgust.
“They're glaring” Dan laughed. I burst out laughing too. It was pretty fun rubbing this in their faces. We started reciting some random quotes from Shakespeare plays and laughing. It was all fun and games until Jay walked over. I froze and looked at Dan who just winked at me. I smiled at him.
“Lauren what the fuck do you think you're playing at?!” Jay shouted.
“Don't talk to her like that” Dan spat then winked at me.
“I wasn't talking to you” Jay said he turned back to me.
“I thought you were better than this, but you've obviously made your decision.” He said. I pushed down on the area of my thigh where the cuts were and winced at the pain. Jay looked down at where my hand was then looked back up at my face. My nose was wrinkled up in pain.
“You didn't- no you promised” He said.
“Just like you promise you'd always be there for me, no matter what” I said.
“But you walked out on us.” He replied.
“And you said no matter what” I said through clenched teeth.
“You're unbelievable. We were scared half to death. Where did you go?” He asked.
“That's none of your business Jason” I hissed.
“Tell me” He demanded and slammed his hand down on the table.
“Hey man, she doesn't want to tell you, just leave her alone” Dan said. Jay glared at both of us then walked back over to his table.
“You alright?” Dan asked. I nodded.
“Do you wanna go now?” He asked. I nodded again and we stood up. He slipped his hand into mine and we walked out of the café without even looking behind us. This is the life I'm choosing. With Dan. They'd already proven that they hate me, so why should I even try with them? Dan was nice, he cared and he was definitely on my side. So this is my life now. Me and Dan against the world.

Its been way too long since I last updated and I'm sorry, but I really really wanted to get this chapter perfect! I've got my play tomorrow, and I'm so nervous!
