Grow Up Jack

Jack's POV:
I carry the bucket full of beer bottles to the recyclables, ever since Sarah forced Adison from me, I haven't been the same. Before Adison, I thought I knew what I wanted, but when Adison came into my life, she gave me a purpose in life. And Sarah took that purpose from me. The guys are fed up with me drinking, and so they emptied all of the beer and dumped them, and then they made me recycle the bottles alone. I dump the bottles into the large bin the venue has and walk back to the bus. I haven't missed drinking. But drinking seems to be the only thing that's helping right now. I get back to the bus and walk in, everyone is lounging around, we got to the venue a few hours early. I go to the back and lay down on the couch. I been having nightmares of Adison leaving me ever since she did leave, there usually of her crying for me and reaching out to me. And no matter how much I run for her and reach for her, I can never catch her.

I hear my phone ring and I look at the caller ID, I don't recognize the number but I answer anyway. "Hello." "Jack," I hear Sarah. I sit up in shock. Why is she calling me. "Yeah." "We need to meet." "What are you talking about?" "I just want to meet with you and talk to you for a bit." "About what?" "I think you already know about what, Jack." "Your talking about Adison." "Yes." "Okay, I'll meet with you."

"What's wrong with Adison," I ask Sarah quickly. "Jack-" "I know something is wrong with Adison. That would be the only reason why you would need to talk to me. Isn't it." Sarah looks away from me, "I knew it. What's wrong with her." "She keeps asking for you but I don't want her to see you." "I'm not a bad person Sarah, why are you so against this." "Because that's what Alli wanted, for you to live your life the way you want it, without having a child in the picture." "Have you ever thought once of how my life was with Adison? My life changed for the better when she found me. I stopped drinking, I stopped partying, and I stopped sleeping with random women. She changed me for the better. But you still think I'm still the old me and that Adison isn't safe in my life. When really, she is." "Really, because I heard she had to go to the hospital due to a allergic reaction. How was that caused Jack."

"We had a small fight, she didn't like how I always had to exclude her from my work. And fans kept giving me candy for her, but I wouldn't let her have any. The same night we had that fight, I guess I left out the candy on accident in the same room she was in, and during the set I was told about her and a emergency. I didn't do it on purpose Sarah." "You were irresponsible, that's what you are Jack. That's what you always have been. If you were a better parent, you would have kept a better eye on her, causing no fights, and not running the risk of her having a allergic reaction." "I'm irresponsible? Who's the one who couldn't keep track of her to go to camp." She glares at me, "that has nothing to do with this." "Yes it does. Its the reason Adison came into my life. Your the reason Adison wanted to be in my life." "I am not." "She wants to be with her dad, not her aunt. And also, Adison never had nightmares except for the first night she was with me. She told me how she used to have nightmares, but she never told me what they were. I'm guessing they were of Alli. So if you even think I'm the bad parent your wrong. Its you."

"I'm not about to let Adison in this life again, she'll never be normal again. She won't have a normal childhood." "Ever stopped and think this is how her life should be? To be with her dad on the road, in his life, being home schooled. She belongs with me." "No, she belongs to have a normal life." "And what's so wrong with her being in my life?" "Everything Jack!! Your life is not normal!! I have already seen the things about Adison, and I do not like them." "Are any of them negative." "No but-" "And what's your argument?" "No child her age should be exploited like that." "She has not been exploited." "That's what you think Jack." "I'm done with this, I'm done with your excuses. What's the main reason you called me. I know something is wrong with Adison." "She..she's been having nightmares." "Which stopped when she was with me." "...She's having nightmares of you being taken away. They been frequently, more then the ones in the past." "And your saying Adison is better off without me." "Yes she is!" "Well by the sound of it she's not!! She needs me!!"

I run off, anger boiling in me. Adison needs me, I know she does. She is not better off without me, and Sarah needs to see that.
