Mixtape of Their Favorite Band

Turn the Lights Off, Carry Me Home

Dallas’s Perspective

Since Friday, I’d felt like I was in a whirlwind. I spent nearly every waking moment texting either Alex or Zack. It was incredible.

No one had said anything, but I knew I had to keep my mouth shut. If I said I knew All Time Low, either no one would believe me, or I would be thrust into the public eye, neither of which I wanted. Also, the boys didn’t want a scandal, which I totally understood.

But a few times, I couldn’t help but reply to their tweets and they’d reply to mine. But it wasn’t a big deal.

And now we were hanging out with them and the crew.

I should’ve known that nothing in my closet would suffice. I sifted through the many dresses and skirts and blouses for the millionth time, sighing.

I should’ve gone shopping earlier, but then I wouldn’t have had time to shower, put on lotion, do my nails, hair, and makeup.

I was still only in my bathrobe and a matching bra and thong set. They were lace. Hey, you never know!

I moaned and my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID: Gaskank

“H-Hello?” I said. I wanted to cry.

“Dally bear, are you okay?” Alex asked bluntly. He’d come up with that nickname for me. It was really fucking adorable.

“Yeah, I’m fine.” I replied.

“Where are you?” he asked.

“Um, still at home.” I said sheepishly.

Alex sighed.

“Dallas, is it a bad time for us to hang out? Because if it is, I don’t see how avoiding us is helping at all--” Alex ranted.

“Alex, stop!” I snapped.

“I’m sorry. I just really wanted to see you tonight.” he whispered.

“I’m sorry too. I’m just having trouble picking out an outfit.” I felt stupid saying it out loud.

“Don’t worry about it. You’ll look sexy either way.” he told me.

I was shocked by his admission.

“Alex, you have a girlf--” I started, but he cut it.

“Oh no no no, I didn’t mean it like that!” he said assuredly.

Suddenly, in the background, I heard Zack’s muted voice.

“Alex, please give me the phone.” I heard.

“No!!!!” Alex shouted.

“Alex, I can hear you.” I laughed.

“Oh, sorry Dallas, dear.” he smiled.

“Gasbarf, stop flirting with Dallas.” Zack snapped.

I sighed.

“Alex, give Zack the phone before he explodes.” I told him.

“But I wanna talk to you!” he whined.

“You can talk to me when I get there.” I promised him.

“Okay.” he sighed.

I heard some voices in the background.

“Hey Dallas.” Zack said finally.

I immediately relaxed.

“Hi Zack.” I smiled shyly.

“What’s going on?” he asked caringly.

“I’m, uh, having a little outfit problem.” I stammered, feeling even more silly than I did when I’d told Alex.

“Do you want me to come over?” he asked plainly.

“I-um-what?” I stuttered, a little taken aback.

“Let him come over, bitch!” I heard Adelaide yell in the background.

“I guess it’s settled then. I’ll be there in, like, five minutes.” Zack told me and hung up.

I groaned, throwing myself on the bed, back first.

Before I could even think about changing out of my bathrobe, my doorbell was ringing and my Papillon, Minnie, was barking.

I swore and ran out to the door and opened it. Zack was smiling in the doorway, but when he saw what I was wearing, or wasn’t wearing, his jaw dropped.

“Woah.” he whispered.

“Yeah, um, sorry, I thought about changing, but uh...” I said awkwardly.

“No, it’s fine.” he shrugged.

“So...uh, this is it.” I nodded and led him to the bedroom.

I paled suddenly. Maybe plastering my entire apartment with All Time Low shit wasn't such a good idea.

"Sorry about that." I whispered.

He smiled wolfishly.

"Hey, it's fine. Good to know you love me oh so much." he laughed, making a pucker face. "Woah, I remember signing this!" he said suddenly, picking up the copy of So Wrong It's Right.

"Yeah." I nodded.

"That was like a year and a half ago, right?" he asked.

"Yeah, junior year." I smiled.

I led him to the walk-in closet and he whistled.

“Um, these are my clothes then.” I told him.

“Alright.” he nodded.

Zack’s Perspective

Holy shit. I went to Dallas’s place, expecting her to be in sweats or whatever girls wear when they’re not doing much, but she was barely half-dressed. I nearly lost it when I walked in the door.

She was wearing a soft cheetah-print bathrobe that did a good job of covering up her winning curves and ample breasts. Not that I’d looked or anything.

I knew it wasn't technically against the law to be attracted to her, since she was over eighteen, but it still felt wrong. There was a whole seven and a half years between us.

Also, her apartment was covered in pictures of my bandmates and me. It was a little off-putting, but also flattering at the same time.

Now she was standing just behind me and suddenly I couldn’t take it anymore. I turned around and threw her up against the wall of the huge closet, trying to be gentle since I was a lot bigger and stronger than her.

I looked into her eyes and they were the brightest green I’d ever seen on a person. I leaned down slightly and kissed her hard on the lips. I braced myself against the wall, hands on either side of her head so I wasn’t leaning on her too much.

She grabbed me by my hair and pulled me closer to her and I had to suppress a moan. She lifted up her left leg and wrapped it around my waist and I held her close to my body. She wrapped her arms tightly around my neck and I lifted her up bridal style and carried her to the bed, our lips staying connected.

I threw her down on her bed and she pulled at my shoulders. I was tempted to pull her robe aside, but I settled for massaging her breasts deeply. She moaned a little and I chuckled.

Dallas’s Perspective

Wow. Zack and I finally broke off from the most passionate and intense makeout sesh I’ve ever had.

“Zack...” I whispered. Stupid mouth, ruining the magic.

“You should probably get ready. They’re waiting for us.” he told me and I nodded.

Weird, we were back to being awkward again.

I knew Zack. I mean, I knew what he presented to the world. I knew that he never spoke without thought, one of the reasons I liked him. And I was slowly getting to know him, and realizing that he was much smarter than he let on, that he had so much to say if you took the time to listen.

That's why I didn't understand why he was so awkward and quiet around me sometimes. Was it because I was younger? I couldn't help but be intimidated by him. I mean, here was this perfect, twenty-six year old guy who wanted to be with me, a dumb eighteen year old high school kid.

I shook myself out of my thoughts to see him in the closet, tossing out some random items.

“So, how’s that?” he asked when he was finished.

He’d found a soft pink tank top, jean shorts, blue Vans, and a dreamcatcher necklace as well as a ring with a star on it.

“Zack, are you secretly a girl?” I asked teasingly.

“Oh, is that not okay? I can...” he said quickly, but I walked over and kissed him to make him shut up.

“It’s fine.” I smiled.

I grabbed the outfit and went into the bathroom to change. Surprisingly, after all that, my hair and makeup still looked good. Nonetheless, I put my curled hair in a loose side-ponytail to make the look more casual and changed.

When I came out, he was sitting on my bed, staring at his hands. He looked up at me and smiled.

“Ready to go?” he asked.

“Y’all aren’t going anywhere because we decided to come here!” Adelaide sang.

I left the bedroom and found her, and All Time Low and their crew sitting in my living room.

“What are you guys doing here?” I asked obviously.

“We got sick of waiting, so we came here.” Adelaide explained.

“And we brought movies, betch!” Jack yelled.

I laughed and leaped into Alex’s lap.

“Well, hello there, pretty lady.” he said in a weird Southern accent. I laughed.

“Guess it was worth the wait then.” Rian observed.

“Hey, watch yourself, Chip Skylark, before I call Cassadee on you.” I warned and everyone laughed.

But Zack was glaring murderously at Alex and me. I gave him a questioning look, but he shook his head and cleared his expression. Hmm, I’d have to ask him about it later.

“Hey, look, it's my face!!!” Jack yelled, breaking the slight silence. He pointed to the walls. We all looked at him strangely.

"My face is on the wall!" he yelled again.

I looked. He was right. It was the cover of their AP issue from like 2012.

"Yep, that's you, alright." I smiled. I was positively in heaven.

Dallas

ok, so in chapter two, Dawn (NewKidOnAnOldBlock) wrote that Dallas lives with her parents, but I wanted to change that because of this chapter, so now Dallas lives in her own apartment. Hope nobody's confizzled or anything. She graciously edited chapter 2 for me and this chapter kinda talks about it. so yeah.
