Me Without You

A week before the wedding my girls and I decided to have my bachelorette party. We were going to club, Susan was in charge of tonight's event.

"Alright ladies time to get a move on let's go let's go let's go" Susan demanded clapping her hands together. I finished applying my lipgloss and then applied some mascara. Susan told me not to look so hot tonight because I was getting married. I told her to fuck off because no matter what I wore I would always look hot as hell.

We saw the limo pull up and Susan rushed us all out the door.

"No time to waste my friends we have one last fun night with Ashley!" Susan squealed, I could have sworn I saw her eyes water.

"Don't worry Susan we will have more fun nights after I'm married" I smiled sliding in next to her and giving her arm a small squeeze.

"Just promise you will name a kid after me" she said

"I promise" I extended my pinkie and she wrapped hers around mine.

When we pulled up to the club I could have sworn I saw jacks car. I shook the idea from my mind and got in step with my friends. We stepped inside and I was taken back to the first night I had partied with the boys. This wasn't the same bar but the loud music and drunk adults made it seem like it.

Walking to to the bar I thought I saw jacks hair make its way threw the crowd but instantly denied it. I was probably just imagining it.

I ordered myself a martini at the bar and took a seat. The tender quickly filled my order and soon I was on the dancefloor dancing with my friends. I honestly felt invincible.

That was until I had to go use the bathroom. I told my friends that I would be back soon but Susan insisted on coming with me.

Walking into to the bathroom a couple was making out in one of the stalls. I tried to tune them out and went to the sink. Opening my purse I pulled out my lipstick to reapply. I heard the stall latch of the stall the couple was in. A small blonde girl with a short, tight, and pink dress walked out. She was followed by...

"Alex" I said dropping my lipstick in the sink breaking the cover of it.

"Shit" he muttered under his breath. The room seemed to get smaller and smaller as I ran outside to get a taxi. The last thing I remember was Susan slapping Alex across the face and running after me. The worst part was that he was completely sober.

i called alex the next day after that event and called off the wedding. He made me sick.

I took up residence at Kathy's house with her and her husband. Altogether I received over a hundred calls from all the boys. I wasn't forgiving Alex this time. Last time it wasn't really his fault but this, oh this was low. You could make the joke that it was an all time low.

I sat on the couch being angry at myself but mostly at Alex. Kathy and her husband had gone out for a date. I was just staying here until I could find myself another place in Pennsylvania.

My train of thought was interrupted by the doorbell. I got up to answe it.

"How did you know where I was?" I asked angrily two seconds away from slamming the door in his face.

"Please hear me out" Alex begged pushing the door aside and letting himself in.

"If you want your ring back here, I was going to mail it out tomorrow" I shoved the ring in his hand and pushed him back towards the door.

"Ashely give me another chance please" he begged

"sorry Alex, you were fake, I was great, nothing personal" I mocked his lyrics and glared at him.

"Hear. Me. Out." His tone rising. Tears pricked at my eyes, the were ready to come out and I let them. I couldn't help but cry. The man I loved cheated on me a week before our wedding.


"Do you have any idea what you did to me?" I said choking through my sobs, tears trickling down my face. I couldn't bear to look at him, to think of what he did to me.

"Do you!" I said raising my voice. My voice cracked and I fell to my knees on the wooden floor. My arms were red from me scratching at them, a habit I had picked up for when I get sad. Alex looked at the ground scratching his head. He kicked his feet together and rocked back and forth on his heels. I could not stand the fact that he was speechless. The man I fell head over heels in love with turned out to be a complete dick that couldn't even offer up some words of sorrow.

"go" I whispered

"whaaa-" Alex started but I cut him off "I said leave!" venom dripping from every word that came out of my mouth. If he expected to come here and say a quick sorry and things would be all patched up he was completely wrong. Did he not understand I did not want to see or speak to him?

I made the mistake of looking into his eyes as he stood there, disappointment and sadness written all over his face. Alex's eyes were red and puffy from the amount of crying that he possibly did. My heart melted and the only thing I wanted to do at the moment was to reach out and hug him but, I quickly reminded myself of what got us here. I stood on my feet and locked eyes with him, no longer feeling sorry for how sad and tired he looked. It didnt seem like Alex was going to move from that spot anytime soon.

"fine, if you wont go then I will" opening the door I let it slam behind me. Letting go of Alex Gaskarth in the process.
