Coming Home?

Jack and the others walked up to Alex as he stood by a window and just stared. He looked both happy and hurt at the same time. When they saw what was on the other side they all smiled. It was lots and lots of babies.
"Wow, so many babies" Jack said.
"Which one is yours?" Zack asked and looked all over.
"That one" Alex said and pointed at the one just on the other side of the window, by the wall and she had her eyes open.
"I wonder if she can see you" Jack said.
"No, she can’t. Not yet" Alex said.
"A baby is practically blind until it’s about a few months old" Rian explained. Jack stared at Rian.
"Seriously?" Jack asked.
"Yeah, they only react to motions and light, and of course voices" Rian said.
"And about three months old they will be able to recognize faces" Alex said.
"Exactly" Rian said and smiled.
"Mr. Gaskarth?" someone said behind them. Alex turned around and looked at the doctor.
"Yes?" he asked.
"She’s in room 394" he said. Alex stood there for a second before he hurried away to the room, and when he opened the door she was there. She was still under, but she was there. Beeping machines was proof enough that she was alive and Alex fell down and sat on the floor. He felt so relieved. So relaxed, and everything was just… Perfect.
"She’s going to be in a lot of pain when she wakes up, but in a few days she will be able to leave and go home" a nurse said.
"She’s okay" Jack said behind Alex, and smiled.
"She’s okay" Alex echoed and smiled.

Max woke up to the cries of Tigerlily. She looked around and wondered how she could be home. The last thing she remembers was seeing Alex face when they were doing a C-Section. She sat up and frowned a little when her stomach ached. She lifted up the blanket and saw that she had Alex flannel on and pink underwear. Why was she at home?
She got up and slowly walked towards the sound and soon heard Jack and Alex. Alex was singing and Jack humming behind a door to one of the guest rooms. But she guessed it was Tigerlily’s room now.
"Max?" Jack said when she opened the door. Alex turned around and he was apparently bottle feeding her.
"You shouldn’t be around walking" Alex said and stared at her.
"Why am I home?" Max asked.
"You… You don’t remember?" Alex asked.
"Probably the fever" Jack said and looked at Alex.
"Yeah, you were pretty gone because of it" he said and put Tigerlily in Jack’s arms. He walked over to Max and softly kissed her, before he walked with her back to the bedroom.
"Please rest… I don’t want your wound to open up" he said.
"How is she?" Max asked as she laid down under the blanket again.
"She’s gorgeous in every way, she barely cries and she sleeps most of the time" Alex said. Max smiled and yawned, and Alex brushed back hair from her face.
"Sleep, and when you wake up I’ll prepare something to eat for you" he said.
"Okay" she said and soon drifted of to sleep again.

Alex was sleeping and he was really tired, so when Max heard that Tigerlily started to cry she got up and walked over to her room. She didn’t care that her stomach ached a little when she walked, and lifted the little creature up. She stopped crying as soon as Max held her.
"Hi there" Max said and teared up. It was the first time ever that she held her and her eyes was looking at Max. She knew that she couldn’t see her, but it was still prefect. Her golden eyes was almost shining. Max looked around and saw a couch in the corner. She hadn’t seen it before but she knew that it was all Alex doing. She gently sat down on the couch, before she laid herself down and placed Tigerlily on her chest. It didn’t take long before Tigerlily fell asleep and Max smiled. It felt perfect. This was her daughter. Her and Alex daughter. The door opened and Alex looked inside, and Max looked at him. He looked surprised first and then he smiled. He walked over and snapped a picture of them and then he showed to Max, and Max smiled.

Well it’s been a few days but I want you all to say hi to Tigerlily.

Alex whispered what he had written and then posted it on instagram and twitter. The comments all flowed in after that and everybody seemed to love her.
"Do you want breakfast?" Alex asked.
"Yes please" she said.
"And what do you want?" Alex asked.
"What about a light sandwich and some tea?" he asked and smiled.
"That would be good" she said and smiled back. Alex left the room and Max slowly sat up again, doing everything she could not to wake Tigerlily up. Then she walked over to the big crib and put her down, and then she headed downstairs where Alex just finished with preparing breakfast.
"How are you feeling by the way?" he asked.
"My stomach ache in some movements, not much but a little… Other than that I feel just fine" she said.
"I saw your pictures from the Mama to be shoot, and wow. It looked amazing" Alex said.
"So it finally came out?" she asked and took a bite.
"Denise sent over a copy, and yes. They published the shoot about a week ago" he said.
"I really like the clothes" Max said and smiled.
"I liked the dungarees you got, somehow it suited you well" he said with a chuckle.
"Well I’m planning on getting some to have now as well" Max said and smiled. Then they heard a small cry again and Alex got up.
"I’ll take care of it" he said and kissed her on the forehead. Max smiled and looked at him as he hurried upstairs. She still couldn’t believe that they were parents. She was a mother. A real mother.
