Damned If I Do Ya

Surprise!

Our set tonight was amazing. It seems that having Ember back had put us all in a good mood. We were all hyper on stage, Zack even spoke to the crowd and the meet and greet couldn't have been better. By the time we ended the show, we had the kids going crazy, still rocking out as they made their way to the merch tables and exit. Needless to say, we were pretty stoked as well.

By the time we made it back to the bus and managed to clean ourselves, the bottles were already opened and the music was already busting through the speakers. I couldn't help but feel a weight come off my shoulders, knowingn that if I drank as much as everyone else tonight, I wouldn't have to fight for sleep because I missed the girl I love. She'd be right there with me, which brought a smile to my face.

I ventured into the area where Ember was dancing with Alex and wiggled my eyebrows. Alex always thought he was the best dancer out of all of us, but I can honestly say, my lady had him beat. I snickered and extended my arm to snatch her away.

"Hey!" Alex sighed, putting on his best frown. "I was dancing with her!"

"Sorry, dude. I need to steal her for a minute."

"Ember!" Alex whined, stomping his foot like a toddler. "Bring her back!"

"I will," I chuckled, rolling my eyes. "Just as soon as I'm done."

I pulled Ember through the bus and to our bunk. Holding open the curtain, she slid in before, and I grinned as I watched her eyes grow wide. She was focused on the bright bag in front of her, multi-colored tissue paper sticking out and the card propped up on the bag. I watched her fingers wrap around the card and slide it open. Of course, it was simple, just telling her how much I loved her.

"What's this for?" Ember questioned, putting the card down with a small smile on her face. "It's not my birthday, Jack."

"Well, duh," I laughed, rolling my eyes. "Just open it, okay?"

"Okay... Does this have anything to do with your talk with Matt earlier?"

"Ember, just open it!"

Said girl sighed and started pulling the paper out. A smile formed on her mouth when she realized most of the bag was just that. When finally, she reached the bottom, her small fingers wrapped around a certain box she'd fallen in love with earlier. As she pulled it out, I watched her face light up as she ran her fingers over the edges.

"You didn't have to," she whispered, opening the box with no surprise this time. "But, thank you."

I shrugged, the smile never leaving my lips.

"I know I didn't have to. You just seemed to like it so much earlier and you wouldn't let me buy you anything else. Besides, this is different. You found something beautiful in a room full of junk. It was meant to be yours."

Ember sat the box down and bent over my bed, wrapping her arms around my neck as her lips brushed against my own. It was sweet and loving, making my heart skip a beat as she slid her tongue across my bottom lip asking to be let in. Of course, I granted her entrance.

"So you like it?" I mumbled as she pulled back, catching her breath.

"I absolutely love it, babe."

With a smile, I pushed her playfully back on the bed and crawled on top of her. Pinning her arms down above her head, I completely skipped kissing her lips and went straight for her neck. My teeth grazed her skin and my tongue drew circles on her flesh. She grunted in responser, her fingers wrapping my arm tightly. Smirking, I sucked a bit of her skin into my mouth and hummed against her neck.

"Jack," she whispered, squriming to get out of my grip. "Everyone is here. We can't right now."

"Doing it while they're partying is safer than doing it while they're sober and right next to us," I murmured against her neck, sliding my way down to her collar bone. "Come on, it's been forever."

"You can wait a bit longer," she pressed, biting her lip to fight a moan and I let go of one of her arms so I could trace it down her body, to the heat in between her legs. She shivered, moving her legs in attempt to stop me. "Jack!"

"Tell me you don't like it."

"I can't," she growled, letting a loud sigh come from her mouth. "But we can't right now."

I pressed on her through her jeans one good time, just enough to hear her moan, before I sat up and shrugged my shoulders. If I was going to suffer, at least I wasn't going to suffer alone.

"Go, then," I smirked, staring her down, "go back and dance with Alex."

"You're coming with me," Ember smiled, standing up as she pushed the curtain back and extended her hand for my own. "Come on!"

I rolled my eyes playfully and stood up, following her back through the bus and to where our friends were acting like drunken fools. As Ember slipped out of my grip and ran over to Alex, taking a cold beer from his hand before she started making a fool of herself by his side, I smiled.

Damn, it's good to have her back.
