Damned If I Do Ya

Simplicity

I told Jack we should find somewhere to window shop and just walk around. A movie didn't sound too entertaining, and it was too cold for me outside still. We managed to find a mall, where we just walked around, hand in hand, looking at random things. We stopped inside a few places, but never bought anything. Jack offered a few times, but I kept telling him to save his money, there was no need for new stuff while we were on tour.

We managed to find a trinkets shop, that was already full of Easter things. I started thinking about how last year, Matt and I hid eggs all over the bus with little note of what the person who found it would win, or candy. I think there was one gag egg that when the person opened in, syrup came out. I started thinking about how we should do that again, looking over some of the things. I happened to pass by a little wooden box that caught my eye. I looked over at Jack, finding him laughing at one of those dolls that dance while some song plays. The one he found was a rabbit dancing to that Peter Cottontail song.

Looking back at the wooden box, I picked it up curiously. The top of it was a painting of a swan on something that felt like stone. The rest of it was all dark wood, with little fancy legs on the bottom of it. I opened the lid, and nearly jumped when a small melody started playing immediately. I smiled, transfixed on the little music box.

“That's pretty.” Okay, that made me jump. I shut the box and looked at Jack, who was smiling at me.
“The box or the song?”
“Both.” He smiled. “And seeing you smile like that again.”

I blushed, and set it back down, shrugging. Jack still leaned over and pressed a small kiss to my lips, and we went through the rest of the shop, before heading off. We talked a little more as we finished up exploring the place. Nothing about being separated, the fights, anything bad was brought up. We just talked about the show tonight, Jack asked how Bailey was, I asked if we were going to go anywhere warmer. It was...nice.

I believed Jack still loved me, it was getting me through this without a doubtful thought. But when we ran out of things to do, and we started heading back to the bus and venue, I got worried all over again about our friends. They haven't really talked to me, granted yesterday they wanted to give Jack and I alone time, and this morning he dragged me off. I think Jack sensed my rise in anxiety, cause his hand went from mine to my waist as he wrapped an arm around me.

I leaned into him, grateful for the support. The only person I was really worried about was Alex. I mean, it was both mine and Jack's best friend. He's stuck up for both of us, what if he decided he doesn't want to do that anymore? Just wants one best friend to count on and be there for. I know if tht were to happen, he'd pick Jack. They were friends first, I just kind of showed up at a wedding and moved in one day.

“You know they all still love,” Jack suddenly said, once the bus was still in sight. “If they can forgive me for what I did, they'd forgive you.”
“I know, I just...worry.” I sighed. This was starting to sound old.
“You'll just have to see.” He smiled, opening up the bus door.

“You guys are back?” Rian asked, he was sitting on the couch. “It's only like, 5:30.”
“We got bored.” Jack shrugged, walking in. I went to follow after him and found myself in the air.
“Finally!” Alex's voice rang above me, “Jesus, Jack. Way to be gone like, all day with Ember.”
“Sometimes I think you forget she's my fiancee.” Jack rolled his eyes, and I felt Alex shrug before setting me back down.
“The rest of us missed her too, so no hogging!”
“Alex, quit being dramatic.” I laughed, and he pouted at me.
“But we have yet to beat all of Call Of Duty! Now get your butt in the back lounge and play with me!”
“Okay okay,” I laughed, and he cheered before running off.
“Told you so.” Jack mumbled, and I playfully elbowed him.
“Shut it, come on.” I started following after Alex but, Jack didn't come along.
“You two chill, I need to talk to Matt.”
“Alrighty.” I waved, and got to the back lounge.

Alex was already setting up the xbox, and my controller was chilling on the couch. I picked it up, and slid down to the floor. I get really heated during games, so, if I'm on the couch, I'll fall. Alex soon plopped down next to me, and we continued right where we left off last time, screaming soon filling the room. We screamed at our characters, each other, everything. When a cinematic was going, Alex spoke up.

“You know, Jack told us what you said last night.” He stated, leaning against me.
“I figured.” I muttered, willing the game to hurry up and this concversation could not happen.
“We don't hate you.” He mumbled. “We were mad, yeah, I'll admit that. But, you left and got help, coming back showing how clearly sorry you were. We will always love you, okay?”
“Thanks, Lex.” I smiled. “Is this why you demanded my attention?”
“Nope, I just really wanna beat this already and I like taking you from Jack.”
“You're terrible!” I shoved him, which turned into a wrestling fight.

Alex managed to pin me down quickly, though.

“ALEX IS KILLING ME!” I screamed, and there was the sounds running feet and Zack showed up.
“Dude, get off her.” He laughed, shoving his friend.
“She started it!” Alex whined, and I poked Zack.
“You're tagged in, get 'em muscles.”
“No!!” Alex ran out of the room, followed by Zack.

I got up and heard the sound of Rian's voice. 'Stay away from me you two! No Alex I will not- ZACK GET OFF!' and walked out to find three boys now on the ground. Vinny was in the kitchen, watching the three of them, and laughing his ass off.

“Day one, and you manged to start trouble.” He chuckled, when I took a seat next to him.
“Oops?” I smiled. “Where's Matt and Jack?”
“I don't know.” He shrugged. “Jack grabbed Matt and told him they needed to talk about something.”
“Oh....” I frowned.

Why would they need to leave the bus for that? What even took this long to talk about? I wonder if it's about m-

“GET HER.” Someone yelled and I had three boys on my tail.
“Get away from me freaks!” I yelled, climbing over the table to run away.
“Gotcha!”

Zack caught me first and held me as Alex tickled me to death, Rian was just enjoying it while I managed to ask for mercy in the middle of all my giggling and laughter.

“This is for your silly thoughts! Muahahaha!” Alex yelled.

I love these idiots.
