"What was that?" Someone asked after two agonising minutes of silence.
"Someone needs to see who or what that was" Zack shouted to everyone
"Who?" Jack asked. Everyone turned and looked at me.
"I can't do it!" I said.
"Come on Alex, you're the only one who's brave enough" Zack replied.
"Ugh, fine. But If I'm not back in 20 minutes come after me" I said to Zack. He nodded and I turned and made my way deeper into the woods.

Every twig snapping under my foot made me jump. This is by far the scariest thing I've ever had to do. another twig snapping gave me a fright and I started to run. I just wanted to get out of here.

I heard the scream again and I stopped to listen to where it was coming from. It sounded like it was coming from the right so I ran that way, stumbling a couple of times.

Then I stopped dead. There was a girl curled up half naked on the floor crying. I knelt down next to her and put my hand on her shoulder. She looked at me with fear in her eyes and I was suddenly scared for her. Who knows what happened to the poor girl.
"It's all right, I'm here to help, I wont hurt you" I said quietly.
"L-leave, they'll g-get you" She sobbed.
"Who? And they're gone now." I reassured her.
"The strange men. They'll hurt you!" She shouted.
"No, they're gone, it's just you and me and my friend Zack will be here in a minute, he'll help you too" I replied calmly.
"Please don't hurt me" She begged.
"I wont, I promise" I smiled.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?" I heard someone shout. My head shot up and I saw a rather large, scary looking man glaring at me and the girl. He began walking towards us and I stood up in front of the girl.
"She needs help" I tried to sound brave but fear was slowly taking over my body.
"Well she isn't your problem, so leave now and we'll forget all about this" The guy said. I looked down at the girl and I could tell she wanted me to stay. I thought about leaving, and even though I was terrified, I just couldn't walk away.
"No" I said. The guy just looked at me in shock then laughed.
"Just get out of here, kid" He said.
"No" I said again.
"So be it" He shrugged and pulled me by the arm to a very large shed. He pulled me inside and a group of about 15 or 20 guys turned to look at me.
"This little brat was trying to help the girl escape, boss" The guy holding my arm said. A guy who I assumed was the boss walked over and looked at me. He then moved his face right up close to mine.
"No one ever tries to take what's mine, got it?" He growled.
"You're a monster" I said. He took a step back and right hooked me in the face while the guy who dragged me in here held my arms.
"I suggest you keep your mouth shut" He shouted at me. I spat up at him and he walked off.
"Do what you want to the boy" He said, then left. All the guys in the room began punching and kicking me and I had no choice but to lie there and take it.
"Please stop" I begged, but they ignored my cries and carried on beating me up.

All of a sudden, the beating stopped and i was being pulled up to my knees. I looked up and the biggest guy in the room pointed a gun at my head.
"P-please don't shoot me" I begged, the guy just laughed. I closed my eyes and waited for it to end.
"Alex?" I heard a familiar voice. I opened my eyes and it was Zack!
"Zack!" I shouted. One guy went to punch Zack but he dodged it and punched the guy right in the face. Then all the guys went for Zack, but I couldn't see what was going on as I was too weak to get off the floor.

After what seemed like the longest fight in the world, Zack was thrown on the floor next to me with a bloody lip and a swollen eye. A guy pointed a gun at both of out heads.
"Now, where were we?" He laughed. I looked at Zack and Zack looked at me, then

BANG!

Everything went black.
