Walking down the streets of London towards her favourite Starbucks, Maddie never thought she'd do the same a month later with Jack Barakat.

"Fuck, I'm sorry. Let me give you a hand up" Maddie says stretching her hand out for the stranger she had just knocked over.
"It's ok, I'm Jack" the stranger says taken back by her long blonde hair and rainbow fringe.

Jack was different from Maddie's normal clean type, he had raven hair with various blonde streaks, he wore skinny jeans and a blink vest, he had tattoos. He looked like a rock star.

"Maddie, sorry for knocking you over, I guess I really love Starbucks." She says flashing him a cheeky grin.

"It's alright, for being so kind I'm going to buy you a drink"

"There's really no need to do that."

As they walked into Starbucks Jack signalled for Maddie to go and sit down, which she did.

As he put the coffee she'd asked for on the table he asked her
"So Maddie, how old are you?"
"19, and you?" Maddie had never really liked people asking her questions.
"I'm 21, would you like to tell me about yourself?"
"Hmm, well I'm 19 as you know, I study art at Oxford uni, I have two brothers, Dan's older he's left school and gone travelling, Harry's 18 he is doing three sciences at sixth form, he wants to be a doctor. You?"
"I'm 21, I have a sister May and a brother Joe, I play the guitar and I like to take pictures of things."
"Ok, cool" Maddie says taking the last sip of the coffee she'd been drinking.

For a few seconds the tense eye contact was unbearable, staring deep into to each others souls.

There was something about Jack that puzzled Maddie, he was mysterious. She liked it.
