Oh Life
Seven.
Ashley POV:
I woke up around 6:30 am already because I was freezing. I was still naked because of Alex’ and mine earlier adventure. I looked for my sweater and yoga pants, trying not to wake Alex. “Hm, what are you doing?” he mumbled and opened his eyes. “I was cold, I’m sorry I woke you.” I gave him a kiss and he smiled. He looked for pants and a shirt, too and opened our tent. Everyone was still sleeping ofcourse. “Wanna go for a morning walk?” he asked me. I shrugged. “Why not?” I made a messy bun and grabbed my shoes.
“Do you know where we are going?” I asked, not wanting to get lost in these woods. “Trust me, I came here all the time when I was still in High School.” He held my hand and we walked quietly through the woods. It was a beautiful morning and the only sound you could hear was the sound of several birds singing. “Tell me again why I have to go back to New York in only 4 days?” I said when we stood in the middle of a clearing. He stopped walking and looked at me. “You don’t have to.” He said softly while stroking my cheek. “You know I really want to stay, but I can’t..” I answered. “Sure you can.” “Alex, I live there, I have work there.. My parents would never agree. And I don’t have the money to come live here anyways.” I sighed and he looked me in the eyes. “You don’t have to spend money on a house, silly.” He took both my hands in his and half-smiled. “Ashley Sparks, do you want to move in with me?” “Oh Alex.. Yes! Yes, ofcourse I want to!” I jumped in his arms and he grinned before kissing me deeply. “But what about my work?” I said after he had put me back down. “Well, what if I can give you a better job?” I raised my eyebrow at him. “Give me a week, and I’ll make sure you have a new job.” He said confidently. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him again. “You’re the best.” “I know that.” He chuckled.
When we got back to the others, Rian and Cassadee were awake, too. Emily and Noah were still sleeping. We waited another hour, but when they still weren’t awake we decided to eat breakfast with the four of us already because we were hungry. Just when we finished eating, Emily stepped out of her tent. “Morning.” She smiled and grabbed a sandwich and a small bottle of water. She sat down next to me and took a bite of her sandwich. “Can you guys keep in mind we’re sleeping all together in tents here? Jeez, I couldn’t sleep last night because of all the noises.” She said to me and Alex. I blushed and Rian laughed. “Good morning everyone!” Noah said with a smile on his face and sat down next to Emily. "Morning." we said.
Rian and Cassadee went back in their tent to get dressed. “I need music. Where is your iPod?” I asked Alex. “It’s still in the car I guess. I’ll come with you.” I liked Alex’ taste in music, so I always used his iPod instead of my own. He unlocked the car and I found the iPod almost immediately. When we walked back to the tents I saw Emily and Noah talking and laughing. “What did we miss?” I asked Alex. I could see he was thinking the same. Yesterday Emily didn’t say a word and was all sad and now she almost looks like the happiest person in the world. “I have no idea..” Alex said.
“So, what are we going to do today?” I asked no one in particular. “Fishing!” Rian answered. “Really? Cool, never done that before.” We filled our backpacks with all the stuff that we would need and started walking. It wasn’t very far, like a 20 mins walk. Rian and Alex were leading the way and I followed, walking beside Cassadee. Behind us we heard the voices and laughter of Noah and Emily. “Give me a minute.” I told Cassadee. “Hey Em, can I talk to you?” I asked her. Noah got the hint and started walking ahead of us. “What’s wrong?” Emily asked, looking confused. “Nothing is wrong anymore apparently. What’s up with you and Noah?” She blushed a little. “He’s so cute.” I couldn’t believe what she was saying. I mean, I get the part that she thinks he’s cute, because he is a cute boy. But what about Jack? Yesterday she was still heartbroken and now she is smiling all the time. Not that that isn’t a good thing. I just don’t know what to think of it. “Is this because of Jack? Em, you can’t use Noah as your rebound.” I said. “I’m not using him! He is a sweet guy and I would love to get to know him better.” I sighed. “Whatever..” We were both silent for a moment. “Too bad we’re leaving again in 4 days.” She said suddenly. Oh fuck, I hadn’t thought of Emily when I'd said to Alex I would move in with him and stay here. “Yeah, about that..” I started. “Alex asked me to move in with him..” Her eyes widened. “Oh, my god. That is amazing!” she smiled. “Aren’t you mad?” I was confused. “Ofcourse not, I’ll find a way to stay here in Baltimore, too!” she cheered. “That way I can get to know Noah better and I don’t have to miss you.” Emily was acting so fucking weird. But I shouldn’t complain now that she was happy again. “What are you going to do? Rent a house?” I asked. She shrugged. “Maybe.”
Fishing wasn’t that great, it was most of the time just waiting and I thought it was pretty boring. When we got back, we made a bonfire again to keep us warm and I rested my head on Alex’ shoulder. I watched Emily and Noah talking. “She wants to stay, too.” I said to Alex. “Emily?” I sat up to face him. “Yeah, she wants to get to know Noah better. She says she likes him.” I was still confused about all that. “Wow. Do you think she means it?” I sighed. “I don’t know. To me it seems like she’s using him to get over Jack..” Alex kissed my hair. “So, where is she going to stay?” he asked after a moment. “She doesn’t know that yet.” I answered. “Well, if this is really what she wants, she should ask Rian. Now that he has moved into the appartment with Cassadee, his house is empty.” “I’ll tell her that. Maybe it’s the best she stays here, that way I can keep an eye on her.” He chuckled and gave me a kiss.
