Twenty-three.
Ashley POV:
After a long drive we finally arrived in Nashville. During the car ride, Emily and I hadn't talked much. Yesterday, when she was staying over at my place so we could leave early, we had argued about the whole Lisa thing. She thought I should tell Alex what happened, but I didn't want to bother him with it. I mean, it's not like something really bad happened, right? Nothing for Alex to worry about. I would probably never even see that little bitch again. But what she said, had hurt me, that's something I couldn't deny. Especially when she'd threatened me about getting Alex back. It made me think about the stupid magazine all over again. I knew that she had a history with Alex, a very long one. Seriously, I mean, they were in a relationship for almost fucking 9 years. Even though it was kind of an on-off relationship, I couldn't help but feel a tiny bit jealous. And she may be an annoying, mouthy little girl, nobody can deny that she is pretty, really pretty.
"Shit, we aren't going to make it before the show starts with all this fucking traffic." I hit the steering wheel in frustration. "Can you calm down?" Emily asked, annoyed. "Can you shut up?" I snapped at her. "Wow. This Lisa girl is still on your mind, isn't she? Just forget about it already or tell Alex if it bugs you this much. But don't let that bitch ruin this night for you." She was right, but I was too angry to admit that now. I couldn't let Alex's ex ruin this night, I had been looking forward to it for so long.
When we finally arrived at the venue where they would play, we walked to the back of the building. "The show has already started." Emily said, looking at her watch. We walked past security after showing our ID's, luckily Jack had told those big guys that we were coming and that we were with them. They also handed us our backstage passes so we didn't have to worry about security anymore for the rest of the evening. We opened a door that lead us through a long hallway with a lot of doors.
"Are you lost, girls?" I didn't recognize the voice, but when I turned I saw Matt walking towards us, smiling. I'd never really met him before, but I had already heard a lot of stories about him. He was the tour manager and friend of All Time Low, and apparently, he knew who we were. "Ashley and Emily, right?" I nodded, smiling back at him. "Nice to finally meet you, girls. I've already heard a lot about you." "Nice to meet you too, Matt. Hope you only heard good things about us?" Matt laughed. "Of course only good things. Congratulations with your pregnancy, Ashley." "Thanks, Matt." "But, I assume you're looking for the boys?" he asked and we nodded. "Alex will be very surprised, he isn't suspecting anything." Matt told us while gesturing that we had to follow him. We walked towards the end of the long hallway and he opened a door on the left. I heard that they were playing Stella, one of my fave songs. "Et voilà, you can watch the whole show from here." Matt smiled at us. "I still have to do some stuff, you know the way now, right?" "Yes, thanks." Emily said and Matt left again.
I stepped a bit closer to get a good view. There he was, my perfect boyfriend, rocking the stage. I just couldn't get over how perfect the sound of his voice was. Even though he was sweaty, he was still sexy. Rian was giving his all on the drums and Zack was also completely caught up in the show. Jack was jumping around like always, like he owns the whole stage. The song ended and Jack started speaking into his mic. "HEEEEEEY!" he yelled and the crowd went wild. "It's a very special day today, because it's my bestfriend Alex's birthdaaaaay!" Everyone screamed. "He's getting old!" Rian said from behind his drums. "And he's going to be a daddy!" Jack shouted and then started singing 'happy birthday' to Alex. And that's when Jack saw Emily and me watching their show. He stopped singing and started to speak again. "Actually, I have a surprise for him. And the surprise just arrived!" he said, making my heart beat really fast, because I knew that I was the surprise. God, I had already done this once, please don't make me come up that stage again. I hate it when too many people are staring at me. Please Jack, don't do this.. Alex was looking very surprised, he didn't know what to expect. "Do you guys want to see my surprise for Alex?!" The screaming meant obviously 'yes' and Jack put his arm around Alex. "Alex, my boy, are you ready?" Alex nodded with a cute smile on his face. "OKAY YOU GUYS, MAKE SOME NOISE FOR THE BEAUTIFUL ASHLEY SPARKS!" Fuck. I stumbled onto the stage after Emily pushed me. She was going to pay for that one. Alex had an unbelievable look on his face and turned to face me. Next thing I know I was in his arms and damn I had missed his arms. All my stress was gone from the moment he wrapped his arms aound me and I forgot about all the people looking at us. "I missed you so much, babe." he said softly in my ear. "CUUUUTE!" Jack pulled us both into a hug. "Okay, you guys can cuddle later. Let's play a song!" He suggested. Alex nodded and gave me another hug before letting me walk off the stage again. "Not even a kiss?" Jack said. Alex grinned and pulled me back in for a small kiss on my lips.
When their show was over and they had all taken a shower, we decided to go to a bar to celebrate Alex's birthday. "This is the best present ever, you being here." he whispered in my ear. He held my hand as we were on our way to a bar that Jack had chosen. I looked up to smile at him. "I missed you." I told him. "I missed you too. But in a couple of days we have 2 weeks vacation to spend the holidays together." Thinking about that made me happy. It would be the first time that I would spend Christmas and New Year with Alex and our little unborn baby. I placed my hand on my stomach and softly rubbed it. Our baby.. Alex saw it and placed his hand over mine. "How are you doing?" he asked. "Good. Morning sickness is kinda over and I'm not too fat yet, so everything is okay." "Good." He leaned in to kiss my cheek.
"Anyone want something to drink?" Zack asked. We were here for 2 hours already but we were all still sober. Guess nobody was in the mood to get drunk tonight. I couldn't drink anything because I was pregnant of course, Rian was whining about missing Cassadee. Em and I had asked if she would come with us tonight, but she had an acoustic jam session in a mall tomorrow early in the morning and if she came with, she wouldn't make it. Emily was sitting on Jack's lap and they were talking as good friends, although I was still hoping there would finally happen something more. I could just feel the sparks between them. Zack was actually the only one who was a little tipsy. He was chasing after hot girls who could pass as models. "No thanks, I'm good." Alex answered. Zack shrugged and went to the bar to get something for himself and a bunch of girls. "It's you're birthday, you should be totally drunk right now." I said to Alex and played with his hair. "I don't want to be a drunk mess now that we're finally together again for a night." he said. "If I wasn't pregnant, we could both be drunk messes right now." I joked. "True." "Are you excited to open your presents?" I stroke his cheek with my finger and he raised an eyebrow. "I thought you were my present." He pressed his lips against mine and my hands rested in his neck. After a couple of seconds, his tongue licked my bottom lip and I opened my mouth a little. He tasted a bit like beer, but I didn't care. My hands went from his neck to his hair and he softly bit my lip. I thought about the sexy lingerie I'd bought to surprise him tonight and smiled against his lips. He pulled away and looked into my eyes. "It's getting boring here, let's go."
