Fear of Falling Apart

You're A Little Late, I'm Already Torn

I open my eyes and bite my lip as the burning sensation in my stomach returns. Not as bad as yesterday. I look over and see Jack latched onto me, small snores coming from him. I giggle a little and he stirs.

"Morning, Jacky." I smile. "Happy Saturday." he looks up at me and smiles. I don't tell him I cried last night, since I don't really want to. I'll have to go into details.

"Morning. What are we going to do today?"

"I think this is perfect." I say, kissing his nose. He blushes and smiles.

"Boys!" Jack's mom yells. We sigh and look at each other. I hope Jack closer to me and smile. "I was thinking we could go to the mall or something today. Whatever you want to do." his mom says, walking in.

"OOH the mall!" Jack cheers. I laugh and scrunch my nose. He hits me. "How do you not like the mall?"

"I'm not girly like you are." I laugh. He pouts and I kiss his cheek.

"You guys are adorable." She says. I smile. "How 'bout this. We go to iHop for breakfast and decide then."

"Alright!" we shout.

"Get dressed then." She says, shutting the door.

We strip off our clothes and Jack walks over to me. He wraps his arms around my waist and smiles at me.

"You're attractive with scars too." He says. I smile and kiss him. "I'll get you to eat. I don't want you to go like my sister did."

"I'll try to recover. I want to make you happy." I smile. He smiles and looks at my stomach. "

Are you sure those don't need stitches. They don't even look like they're healing." He says. I sigh.

"I don't know."

"We should ask my mom." He says. I shake my head quickly.

"No. No. No." I say quickly. "I'm not telling anyone else."

"But Alex. How would we know if those need stitches?" He asks, eyes pleading. I sigh.

"Alright... fine." I sigh.

He hands me jeans and blink shirt. We change, but I don't put the shirt on. We head downstairs and I feel myself shaking.

"Mom... Can you come here a sec." He asks. She walks in and immediately spots my stomach. "

What is this?"

"It... I..."

"He did it. We're kind of Worried it may need stitches." Jack says. Actually, I could care less.

"Looks like it." She says. I gulp, starting to shake more. Jack rubs my arms. "C'mon. We'll fix ya up."

"Is that n-necessary?" I ask. She nods.

"It'll be fine."

"But they'll send me to therapy." I say. She nods.

"I don't want to go to therapy!"

"Let's fix you up first. My brother is a doctor. He'll do it for free and you don't have to worry about therapy." She says. I nod. "I know Jack will help you recover."

"O-okay." I stutter.

We head to her brother's house and to say I'm terrified is an understatement. I've never had stitches.

"Hey, Joyce!" the man greets. "Hey, Jack. Is this your friend?"

"Boyfriend." Jack says, smiling at me. "His name is Alex."

"Hey, Alex. I'm Wesley." He says, holding his hand out for me to shake. I take it and smile. "So, what am I doing?"

"His stomach." Joyce says. I take my shirt off and he gasps.

"Nothing I can't fix." He says. "Come with me, I'll have ya fixed up in no time."

"See ya in a bit Lexxy." Jack says, before Wesley whisks me away.

He leads me to a room with a bed and medical supplies. It already scares me.

"How'd this happen?" He asks, getting stuff to start.

"I-I did it, sir." I say. He nods and looks at me.

"Has Jack been good to you? Helping you recover?"

"Y-yes." I stutter.

"Good. Don't worry. This won't hurt too badly. I won't lie and say it doesn't hurt, but it won't hurt as bad as you think." After an hour he finishes.

He numbed it so I didn't feel much, but it still hurts a bit. He tapes gauze over it and helps me sit up.

"Okay. In about six or seven weeks, I'll take 'em out for ya." He says. I nod and stand up. I see Jack sitting on the couch watching TV. When he sees me he smiles.

"Thanks Wesley." Joyce says.

"Thanks Uncle Wes!" Jack says, hugging him. He then walks over to me and drapes an arm around my shoulders.

"How long?" Joyce asks.

"Six to seven weeks." Wesley answers. "When the pain comes back, Alex, take some pain killer."

"Okay." We head to Jack house so I can rest. Since no one's at my house, I basically stay with Jack.

"Jacky... my stomach hurts." I mumble.

"Need some pain killer?"

"Yes please." I say. He nods and grabs some for me. I swallow two and he smiles. "So much for a fun Saturday. Now I have to lay low for a while so I don't break open the stitches."

"Now we can get you to eat." He says. I groan. He grabs a bag of chips and hands them to me. "Try."

"Fine." I mutter. I'm STARVING! I just never wanted to eat much. I start shoveling chips into my mouth. Jack smiles when I dont throw up.

"You did it."

"I need a full out meal." I says.

"I could do that."
