Don't Forget I'm a Lightweight

Chapter Fifteen: This Isn't Too Much To Ask, Now That You Are Safe

Jack’s POV

Operation: Safe House, Safe Alex is a go. I got a few of my buddies from high school and they’re all ready to get this plan set for action.

“Jack, is it time to go in?” Rian beeps over the walkie talkie I gave him earlier that day where I met up with him, Zack and Ahri.

“It’s time, make Alex safe again.” I say, looking through the window of my white van and only hoping everything will be alright for once in Alex’s life.

Rian’s POV

I rumble through the rose bushes of Alex’s house, trying not to get pricked by the thorns but knowing it’s for a good cause.

“Rian will we be safe? Jack showed us the photos of Alex back at Starbucks.” Ahri asks me as we pick the lock of Jack’s boyfriends home, acting like spies in the midst of the dark.

“We will, just trust me darling, plus if anything goes wrong we have Zack, don’t we?” I tell her, kissing her on the cheek in the process.

“You guys know I can kick ass, don’t worry.” Zack says, making my girlfriend a bit calmer as I break the lock with the bobby pin Ahri gave me.

“We’re in.” I whisper to the people behind me as we sneak into Alex’s house, parents no where to be seen but a small, caramel haired boy laying down on the couch with the TV on low and the infomercials for the Magic Bullet playing at this early morning at two am.

Ahri tip toes towards who we believe is Alex and shakes him gently, whispering so silently I can hardly hear her.

“Are you Alex?” She whispers silently, slightly shaking him under the burgundy throw blanket.

“Huh? Yeah, you’re supposed to be Ahri right? Or are you one of my parent’s friends?” He asks as Zack and I get closer to him.

“Yup! And this is Zack,” My rainbow haired girlfriend points. “And my boyfriend Rian.”

“Okay, now Jack called you here to save me? My parent’s room is the first door on the left upstairs. You guys know what to do?” Alex says, letting us know where to go and stays down stairs as we walk up, legs still crossed.

We knock on the door and all we hear is a loud scream from a woman.

“Alex, go the hell away! We don’t want you, nor do we care about you!” The woman screams.
Ahri just barges through the door, anger skimming through her blood, I can just tell because nothing makes her mad.

“Who the heck do you think you are, being crude to your own son like that! He’s done nothing wrong to anyone or anything! He’s been hurt for so many years, you blame him for the death of his own brother! That’s sick lady! He died of cancer, there was nothing he could do about that! Your “perfect” son hurt your “imperfect” son’s best friend and then guess what happened to him? He was hurt just like the girl he hurt. Bruised, broken and tattered. The only two people that seemed to care about him was his own first friend he had in years and his teacher who just happens to be his boyfriend! People like you can rot in jail! I’m done.” Ahri screams at the top of her lungs, me hearing tiny sniffles from the outside of the door from a boy I have to believe is Alex.

Walking out the room I turn to the right and see Alex, crying his eyes out on the phone with the only man I can think of.

Jack. Jack Bassam Barakat. Because he’s the guy who cares more about his young boyfriend’s safety than all of his inherited money. The man would take a bullet for the boy just as long as he’s safe from the weight of the world.

“Jack, thank you for keeping me safe. I love you.” Are the words Alex says to Jack and I know he really means it.

He isn’t using Jack for his money, he isn’t using him for anything. All he is using Jack for is love that he never had before, but this isn’t used love, this is love that means a lifetime. Love that takes up more than anything could ever hold.

“I can’t believe you want to marry me! Jack are you serious?” He cries and I watch from afar.

“I don’t care what ring it is, but if I can spend my lifetime with you, I wouldn’t mind. You were always there for me and when I didn’t want it, you stayed even then. I love you, I love you, I love you!” Alex cries harder and Jack walks up the stairs to hold his fiance in his arms like a small child, peppering kisses all over his face to show he’s loved.

“I love you too baby boy, I love you so much. I’d walk a thousand miles for you. I’d walk the world for you. Nothing is too much to ask, now that you are safe.” Jack says, not letting go of Alex.

“You are home to me, where ever you go I don’t think I’ll ever need a roof. I don’t think I’m a lightweight anymore.” The younger says and I walk down the stairs, leaving them be.

Life is perfect for everyone at some point. For Alex it took over eighteen years, after all his life wasn’t perfect to start with but it became better once he met the man he needed, a rock, a shoulder, a lover.

Now their story can live happily ever after, always in our hearts.

Notes

This is the end, I really thought it was going to be longer but no, this is the end and I'll write an epilogue tomorrow.
How many of you cried at the end? I did.
Was it too long? Too short? Not enough school action?
I love you all and now you can check out my co-write with TotalBandWh0re, Sixteen and Married.
I'm so sorry to let this end but it was time, I wasn't feeling it anymore and to be honest I only wrote this because everyone else was writing student/teacher fics so I jumped on the band wagon.
I hope this was a wonderful read for everyone.
