If you’ve never had Alex Gaskarth mad at you, consider yourself lucky. Although he was passionate and attentive and caring when we were together, all that passion had a flip side into anger that smarted me like a whip.

We dropped the guys off at their houses, then went home. The dogs greeted us happily, like nothing was out of the ordinary. They attacked Alex since they hadn’t seen him in a month and he chuckled weakly, petting them.

He went up to his room and slammed the door. I sighed. I went up after him, into my own bedroom. We’d been sleeping together in his bed before tour. I went to bed early that night.

I woke up with my bedroom door open to hear Alex on his phone.

“...acts like she didn’t do anything...I know...but this doesn’t make sense...why would she lie? Dude, I don’t know, I thought I was good enough.” he choked.

I went into his room.

“Yeah...call you later, okay?” he said and hung up.

He still looked the same as he did yesterday.

“What do you want?” he asked sharply.

“I...why are you so mad at me? What did I do?” I asked helplessly.

“You fucking cheated on me!” he screamed, ripping at his hair.

“What?” I asked.

He pelted his phone at me and I caught it clumsily. I saw a text from me that I have no recollection of sending, saying that I was breaking up on him and that I’d cheated on him, all of which were lies. How did he get a text I never sent? Nicole.

“Alex, look. It’s a big misunderstanding. I was hanging out with my old roommate, Nicole, and she must’ve sent that while I was in the bathroom.” I told him.

“You really expect me to believe that?” he asked.

“Well, it’s true!” I replied.

“That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.” he told me.

“Well, I’m glad you think so.” I huffed and walked out.

I sat in my room, crying.

Sometime later, I heard the guys come over. I didn’t bother to go down because they probably all hated me on Alex’s behalf.

Eventually, I had to go down to get a drink. I saw Jack and Alex sitting on one of the pool chairs together. It looked like Alex had his head on Jack’s shoulder and Jack was hugging as he waved his hands emphatically. Zack and Rian were splashing in the pool.

I had ruined Alex, and I hadn’t even done anything.

I know I say this every chapter, but it makes me so happy that you guys enjoy this so much and give me so much love. This has become my favorite story (and not because of the feedback, although that is part of it).
