I lived, luckily. Dupont missed my heart with his silver dagger. I got pretty damn lucky. It's now a month later, I'm fully healed and so is Aveline, kind of. She's scarred mentally from the torture we went through thanks to her dad. With tonight being a full moon, my dad was adamant that we turn and stay in the basement tonight.

"Aveline," I walked into my room that I now shared with Aveline. She came to stay with me and my family because she got kicked out of her house by her dad.

"Hi," she looked up at me with haunted eyes.

"Are you ready to come downstairs for the night," I asked her as I sat down on the bed next to her.

"I just have to take my wolfsbane tea," she replied as she grabbed her mug from the nightstand. She took a small sip and began choking on it. I got her up and took her to the bathroom where she threw up the tea into the toilet. I held her hair back and rubbed her back until she was done throwing up.

"I've never done that before," Aveline whispered. I could feel her shaking, "What's wrong with me that I can't drink my tea?"

"I don't know. Maybe my mom can help you while I'm a wolf tonight," I told her as I kissed her forehead, "You feel a little warm, Aveline."

"I'll lay down in your bed and rest. Maybe I have the flu or something," Aveline stood up and I helped her to my bed. I grabbed a bucket from the basement and placed it by the bed for her.

I was laying down on one of the dog beds my mom had downstairs for us wolves when I saw Aveline come downstairs. She sat down next to me, holding a plastic stick in her hands. From the look on her face, she was scared of what I'd think of what she had to tell me.

"My period was late, Alex," she whispered.

Shit, I didn't wear a condom when we had sex the night before everything happened. I think I know what she's going to say.

"It came out positive," Aveline showed me the pregnancy test, the dark blunt positive in the results window glared at me.

I sat up and nestled up to Aveline, rubbing my nose against her cheek. I'd let her know in the morning that I was staying by her side. I wasn't going to abandon her and our baby. We might be teenagers just about to graduate from high school, but I was going to be with Aveline through this. I love her so much and I am not going to make her raise our baby alone. I want her to keep it and raise it with me.

"I wish I knew what you were thinking, Alex," Aveline whispered as she wrapped her arms around my neck, "I want to know what you think about this. I want to know how you feel about me being pregnant."

I woke the next morning and I got redressed and ran upstairs to find Aveline. I got to my room to find her throwing up in the bucket by the bed. She must still be getting sick from her tea and getting morning sickness too.

"Aveline," I called quietly to get her attention.

"Alex," she replied, "Did you want to talk about last night? I can get an abortion or look for a family to adopt the baby."

"I don't want that, Aveline," I told her as I walked over to the bed and I took her into my arms.

"Then what do you want," she asked as she held onto me.

"I want you and our baby. I want us to be a family one day when we're ready to make it happen. This baby is ours and I want to raise it as my son or daughter. I won't make you go through this alone. We will figure this out together, Aveline. I promise you that," I told her.

"I love you, Alex," she whispered as she started to cry into my shoulder.

"I love you too, Aveline, always," I replied as I kissed the side of her head and rubbed her back.
