It was Friday at long last. I chose to skip school with the guys to get them prepared for the long night we were about to have. I loaded my bag with all the tools of the trade I needed to keep Alex and the others locked up tight in Alex's basement for the night.

I pulled up to Alex's house to find him sitting out on his porch, waiting for me. I pulled my car up into his driveway and I hop out, grabbing my bag loaded with everything, before meeting up with him on the porch.

"I'm glad you made it," he breathed as he hugged me.

"I wasn't going to miss this, Alex," I told him, "I want to be here to help you out tonight and keep you guys under lock and key."

Alex and I went inside and into his basement where the rest of the guys were there along with Peter, Alex's dad. I threw my bag up onto the bar in Alex's basement and dumped out my bag, sending all my gear out onto the counter of the bar.

"Silver and this weird smelling flower is all you have to keep us in here," Zack doubted my tools I was going to use tonight.

"You are allergic to silver, Zack," I told him as I tapped a silver chain against his skin, burning it, "And this flower is wolfsbane. It's toxic to you."

"What in the vial," Alex asked as he grabbed the vial in question.

"That is my anti-toxin. If I get bit by one of you, I have to take a dose of that to keep me from getting sick and dying from the bite," I told them, "I take a different strain as precaution."

I grabbed the other vial I had with me and I tied up my arm and found my vein. I got my syringe loaded with my anti-toxin and I gave it to myself, feeling a little better being prepared for when one of them decides to bite me.

"The moon's about to rise," Peter said as he came downstairs to join us.

"Already ahead of you, Papa Gaskarth," I told him as I gestured to my holster belt being loaded with everything I needed.

"Do you happen to have some wolfsbane tea on hand. I need to take a swig so I'm weaker," Peter asked.

"Yeah here," I handed him the bottle of tea and he took a swig.

"Let me try some too," Alex took the bottle from his dad, "I don't want to cause trouble since I'm the alpha of the pack."

Alex took a small sip and began choking on it immediately. I took the bottle from him and I took a swig myself since it helps keep wolves away from me.

"Easy, Alex, easy," I said soothingly to him.

Soon the moon had risen and the boys turned one by one. Alex was the last to change, and his was the worst transition of them all. Each bone in his body broke slowly, causing him to feel complete agony as he turned. I kept my distance from him for my own sake.

Once the guys were done turning, I saw two brown wolves, a black wolf, a grey wolf, and a white wolf. I knew the brown ones were Alex and Peter. Jack was black, Rian was grey, and Zack was the white one.

Alex started to growl at me, I knew he was feeling threatened since the wolf instinct around hunters is to attack them to protect the pack, even if you grew up with them and they're your best friend.

"Alex, stand down," I told him, "I'm your friend, your best friend. I'm protecting you."

He kept snarling at me, even Peter tried to get him to stop.

"Alex, stand down," I scolded him, but to no avail.

Alex launched himself at me and bit into my arm, shaking it like a ragdoll. His teeth tore into my skin, tearing apart the flesh. I screamed and cried in pain, saying every French curse word that existed. Alex finally released me when Peter grabbed him. I tried to get my anti-toxin, but I lost consciousness.
