I wanna feel weightless

*Zack’s POV*

“We’ll catch you later Rian.” I said as we pulled away.

If Elizabeth didn’t want to go to school today, me and her would have a day to remember.

“You know you drove past the school right?”

“Yeah, I figured we could go watch a movie or something, get some ice cream, blow something up.”

Her face changed to concern at the last suggestion and I laughed it off.

“I was kidding about the blowing stuff up, but, we could still get some ice cream and watch a movie?”

“I guess that sounds good.” She agreed with a smile.


*Elizabeth’s POV*

He is definitely the best friend ever, he took me to a movie and now we are at the mall. I don’t like shopping for clothes because I look like shit in them anyway but I could still go to hot topic and get myself some jewelry. I was able to get a bunch of stuff thanks to my neighbor who used to let me babysit for her all the time. I bought a bunch of bracelets, some nail polish and a backpack with Jack from Nightmare Before Christmas; it’s going to be my new favorite I can tell. I also got some new plugs and beanies. It’s like im reinventing myself, now that my mom won’t be around to tell me how shitty I look with my ears stretched, or wearing a T-shirt and jeans, I can wear whatever, maybe I’ll eventually learn to be comfortable in them. After we were done shopping, as promised, Zack took me for ice cream. We got to the front of the line and Zack ordered one scoop of each, chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry. I simply went for my favorite, chocolate with peanut butter cups sprinkled on top. After we got our ice cream we found a booth and sat across from each other.

“You know you could’ve gotten more than one scoop, I mean look, I got three.” Zack mumbled between bites.

“The fact that I’m eating ice cream at all is a stretch for me right now.”

“What do you mean? You and I have ice cream all the time on movie nights.”

“I know Zack just forget I said anything.”

“Okay so when we get home what do you want to do?”

“I guess we can just watch some movies, I’m kind of tired so I don’t really want to do much.”

“Okay whatever you want.”

There goes his smile again, it’s so beautiful.


*Zack’s POV*

We got done at the mall and started home. School still didn’t get out for another 4 hours so we had some time before the guys get here for practice and mom and dad were at work so we had the house to our selves.

“Okay what movie do you want to watch?” I asked her

“Are we picking from netflix?”

“Of course,” I replied as I plopped down on the couch next to her, “So what’s it gonna be?”

“hmm, how about… Sleepover! Yeah, let’s watch that.”

She lied down in my lap and clicked on the movie.

“This is great,” I thought, “I wish I could stay like this forever, just her and me, together.”

My thoughts were interrupted by her phone buzzing on the coffee table in front of us. I waited for her to check the messages from the unknown number but she had fallen asleep. I grabbed her phone and opened her message.

From: 555-3612
Hey, Elizabeth, this is your cousin John. Grandma has asked me to message you and tell you that Aunt Karen and I will be in Baltimore to pick you up on two days. The hospital called and asked if your insurance had been stolen because it showed you being in Baltimore and yours is still for Texas on grandmas insurance so we called your mom and she told us what happened. See you in two days, love John

John again, grandma says she will buy you new things when you get here so only pack the essentials.

I set her phone back down and slowly lifted myself up. How could she be leaving, they can’t take her. She’s almost 17; she can stay here with me and my folks. She started to stir and I quickly slipped a pillow under her head. I needed to go for a run or something, get out of here, collect, my thoughts. I grabbed my key for the house, locked up and just ran. I ended up at this little park that me and Lizzy go to all the time. The swings were our favorite. I went to the swings and started to just get lost in thought again. Suddenly I snapped out of it.

“Shit, I forgot my phone, what time is it?”

I checked my watch and realized I had been gone for 3 hours. The guys will be home any minute and Lizzy is probably wondering why I left her. I ran as fast as I could and got to the house within 20 minutes. I didn’t see the guys outside and sighed in relief.

“Good, now I can go get a quick shower.”

Hope you are enjoying the story. I've pretty much finished writing it, it's just a matter of getting it all on here but its going to end around chapter 18 and then I would like you guys opinions about whether you'd like a sequel or not. I'm going to continue it but like do you want me to just continue it on here or *technically* start a second one? in the second part is where Pierce The Veil will finally come in to play so keep an eye out for that.
