I'll See You In My Dreams

Chapter 12

It was after school when I pulled up to the same Starbucks that I took Jack to study at. I had called Jack's mother to have a parents teacher meeting and we agreed to have it there.

I had walked in and ordered a coffee before sitting down and pulling out a lot of Jack's classwork. Mrs. Barakat soon walked in with Jack right beside her and I couldn't help but smile.

"Hi Mrs. Barakat, pleasure to see you. Jack, same for you." I said and motioned for them to sit down at the table I selected.

"Hi Mr. Gaskarth, I hope it's not a problem that I brought Jack. I didn't want to leave him be at the house." Mrs. Barakat said with a small smile, Jack sinking down into the wooden chair.

"That's totally okay. We won't be talking bad about him anyway." I said laughing and Jack held back a blush.

"Well surprisingly, Jack is a little ahead than everyone else. The only subject we're having a bit of trouble in is Algebra." I explained while pointing out Jacks grades.

"He's always had a bit of trouble with that." His mom said while nodding along to his otherwise A's and B's.

"We really only have one problem I'd like to point out about Jack, though." I said and saw said boys face fell.

"He really needs to learn to speak up for himself. He won't ask for help unless you ask him if he needs it. Among other things, too. He knows what I'm talking about." I explained and Jack chuckled but his mom was un-amused.

"I told you in the begining he was like that, Mr. Gaskarth." She said and I nodded.

"I know, ma'am, just bringing it to your attention again." I reasurred as she nodded.

"I guess that's it." I said and shook Jack's mothers hand as I stood up.

"Oh, Mr. Gaskarth, is there anyway for the next two weeks or so Jack can stay after school with you? I'm working over time and won't be getting home til late, like around seven." She asked with a pleading look on her face.

"I don't see a problem with that, but I normally leave the school at four, and they lock up the school at five so we would have to go to my place and i'll gladly take him home for you." I said and smiled at the two of them.

"That takes a load off my shoulders, thank you!" She praised and I laughed, hugging her softly.

"You're welcome, Mrs. Barakat. I'll see y'all tomorrow." I said while packing my bags to leave right behind them. Jack waved at me and I hummed as I waved back.

I sat at my desk waiting for the first bell to ring. I was in the midst of grading some papers when my fellow co worker walked in, holding an envelope of paperwork.

"'Mornin Miss. Jardine," I smiled as she returned it.

"These are for you." She said, handing me the thick envelope of paper.

"What's this?" I asked while opening it. "Mentor forms for the elementary school. They're looking for someone to mentor the kids after school some days and all the teachers elected you!" She said with a smile and I couldn't help but return it.

"That's great, thanks!" I said while skimming the packets.

"You deserve it," She said with a slight bite to her lip, "Anyways, I better get back to my class before the heard comes."

I laugh and shook my head and returned to grading the papers. The packets can wait till later. I was snapped out of my trance when Jack walked in, coffee in hand with Cassadee.

"Sup guys." I said happily and they both laughed walking up to my desk.

"This is for you, love." Jack said and reached his hand out to give me the coffee.

"Thank you, Jack."

"You're welcome." He smiled as he sat in the desk that was still to the right of me.

"So you're free to do whatever you want after school here until about four, then we're leaving to go to my place for the remainder of the night before I take you home, deal?" I told Jack and he nodded, making grabby hands at my coffee. I laughed and handed it to him so he could take a sip and set it back on the side of my desk.

"Get your own next time." I whined and he stuck his tongue at me.

My head shot up when I heard the door open and saw Jeremy and Neil walk in, back packs over their shoulder.

"Morning Mckinnon, Morning Westfall." I said lowly and saw Jack shrink into his desk.

"You two, c'mere." I said pointing my finger and motioning to them, which they obliged.

"Sit." I pointed at the who chairs in front of me. They did.

"What's up Mr. G?" Jeremy said and I sighed.

"Care to explain what happened the other day?" I said nodding my head over to Jack.

Jeremy and Neil sighed dramatically and I laughed. "C'mon." I encoraged.

Neil was the first to speak up.

"I know we came across as bad asses and all that and everybody knows we're nice and all that but here's the thing... We've seen what Jordan has done to Jack." Neil said and Jack physically winced at the name.

"Jack is a super chill guy and it hurts us to see him get hurt." Jeremy added.

"I don't see where you're coming from." I said and Neil held up his hands in defense.

"We've been secretly looking out for him so encase he gets hurt again, we would attack that person quicker than Rian can blink when he's on coffee."

Cassadee loudly laughed at that. I forgot she was even in the room.

"We were gonna do it in secret like he would have gaurdian angels but our cover is blown. So what we're trying to say is that when Jeremy and I found out something was between you two, we'd watch out for him even more. So we tested you. We did all of that stuff to see what you would do and if you would protect him. You passed our test, Mr. Gaskarth." Neil said with a smile.

"So I can pass your tests, but you can't pass mine?" I said back quickly and Jeremy, Jack, and Cassadee gasped.

"Harsh, Mr. G. But yes." Neil laughed and I rolled my eyes.

"But you do realize you kind of hurt Jack in the process of all that, right?" I said softly and looked over at Jack who had his head down, the hood of my jacket over his head.

"Shit, we didn't mean to. Sorry, Jacky." Jeremy said this time.

"'S fine." Jack mumbled and they smiled.

"So we got your back, Barakat, okay?" Neil said and Jack laughed and nodded.

"Thanks guys, means a lot." Jack said shyly and blushed.

"Remember, I'm not afraid to use my tennis ball, okay?" I said picking it up and threatening to throw it at them.

Neil was about to say something but got cut off by the loud bell signaling class had began and the rest of my students piled into the class room.

When they all were seated and comfortable I decided to make them uncomfortable. With a smirk on my face, I stood up and walked the the middle of the room trying to get their attention.

"Today, Class," I started while clapping my hands together loudly, "We are going to talk about how babies are made." I finished trying not to break into laughter.

Several peoples heads shot up and had wide eyes before one person raised their hand.

"Yeah, Austin?" I said pointing at him.

"Um, Mr. G... This is English class."

SHORT CHAPTER I'M SORRY :(

How do you guys feel about Jeremy and Neil now that they explained themselves? Good or bad? Do y'all trust them?

Sadness will overtake the next chapter and then shit will go down the chapter after that or the next. Let's just wait and see ;)

Leave your opinions in the comments! I barely got any feedback the last one.
