Ashley POV:

After we drove for a while, Alex parked his car in the driveway of a beautiful house. He opened my door and took my hand. We walked to the front door and he opened it with his key. "Wait, this is your house?" I asked. He grinned. "Yes it is." We walked through a long hallway. "It's so pretty." "I'll show you around later. But now you have to trust me." He smiled at me. "Do you trust me, Ashley?" I looked at him, confused. "Yeah, I trust you." "Well good, because I'm going to blindfold you." He walked over to a small drawer and grabbed a scarf to wrap around my head. "Oh please, you know how much I hate that." I said. I couldn't see a thing but when Alex entwined his fingers with mine, I felt safe. "We have to take some stairs, that might be a problem." "I'm not going to walk up the stairs with this thing covering my eyes!" I complained. Suddenly he let go of my hand and the next moment my feet were off the ground. A yell escaped my mouth and I heard him laughing. "If you don't want to walk up the stairs, I will drag you up the stairs!" We walked up the stairs (okay, he walked, I did nothing) and after a minute he put me down. I heard him opening a door and he grabbed my hand again. We walked a few steps forward and I felt wind brushing my skin softly. We were outside somewhere. "Are you ready?" he whispered in my ear. He stood behind me, his hands on my waist. I nodded and he took the scarf off.

"Oh my god.." I whispered. We were at the rooftop of his house and the view was spectacular. Baltimore had never been this pretty at night. As far as I could see there were lights everywhere. There was a light summer breeze and when I looked up towards the sky, the lights still hadn’t ended. There were a lot of stars tonight. I had never seen anything as magnificent as this view. “Pretty, huh?” Alex whispered, still holding my waist. “It’s beautiful, Lex.” I whispered back. After standing like that a couple more minutes, Alex sat down and I did the same. “You know..” he began saying after a long time. “You’re the first person to come up here besides me. Ever.” I turned my head to lock eyes with him. I couldn’t believe what he just said. “Really?” I asked softly. He nodded. “This is my safe place. Whenever I feel bad, or just needs to be alone or whatever, I come here. Very few people even know this place exists..” I was quiet, not knowing what to say. “I get a lot of inspiration up here. A lot of songs are written here.” I layed my head against his shoulder. “Why did you take me here?” He started playing with my hair. “I don’t know..” We were silent for a while and he kept playing with my hair. He must have remembered I like it when people do that. And then suddenly he stopped and sighed. I tilted my head so I could look at his face and he looked me in the eyes. “Actually, I do know why.” He took my hands in his. “Ashley Sparks, you are the most interesting and honest person I know. You’re intelligent, brave, sweet and funny. Besides all of that you’re also the best friend a person can get. I don’t know how I would have survived my childhood without you. And on top of everything else you are the most beautiful person I’ve ever met. As well on the inside as on the outside..” I was overwhelmed by his words and the next thing I felt were his lips on mine. I’d experienced this moment so many times already in my dreams, but now it was real and even better than I could have imagined. Butterflies filled my stomach and our tongues started playing their own lovegame. His strong arms held my waist and I threw my arms around his neck. God, I wish this moment would never stop. When he ended the kiss we were both breathless. I smiled and he did, too. He wrapped his arm around me and pulled me to his chest. The last thing I remember, we were counting the stars.
