This Love Was Accidental
Chapter 10
P.O.V Alex
I hadn't seen jack since the night we spent together. I had been dying of the flu all week and couldn't come into school to see Jack. I missed him like crazy though.I just really wanted to speak to him. I guessed i hoped that in the time i'd been off he would have tried to contact me or see me but why would he? It wasn't like we were in a relationship. I really didn't know what we were tbh, friends? boyfriends? friends with benefits? The confusion was killing me. I really just needed to speak with Jack so i made the decision to go round to his apartment. It was only 9:20 pm so he should still be awake. I really hope he is.
The drive to Jack's house was short, i still wasn't feeling that great and the car journey was not helping. I was beginning to think i should just not have bothered going to Jack's but i was basically already there so i kept going. Upon arriving i looked up to where Jacks windows are and seen that the lights where still on. Well that's a good sign that he's still up. My nerves where really starting to kick in and i took a final look in the rear view mirror to check i looked okay, a deep breath and got out the car and walked towards the door to his apartment.
I took a final deep breathe before rounding the corner to his door. I took the final few steps and what i seen broke my heart. The door was wide open, and there in the hallway was Jack and a small man. They had their lips locked together, Jack was shirtless and the mans hands were all over Jacks chest. The sight of it made me feel sick, i couldn't help but cry. I was frozen to the spot, tears dripping down my cheeks watching my heart break as Jack and this man kissed. Jacks eyes rose from the man and he saw me, his eyes opened wide in horror. The little man pulled away from Jack and looked at me, he had a snarl on his face.
'Well who do we have here Jacky?', the little man snarled at me. In the time that the little man had spoke to me, Jack had moved out of his reach and sat on the floor with his head in his hands. His shoulders were shaking and i was pretty sure he was crying.
'Ja-ack, whaatss go-ing on?', i managed to stammer out. He didn't answer.
'Well as much fun as this has been Jacky, Im gonna love ya and leave ya' , the little man said with a sly smile as he pushed past me on his way out the door.
That just left me and Jack. I had no idea what to say. Jack was still in the same position, his sobs louder now. It broke my heart even more to see him like this. He was obviously in a lot of pain.
'Jack', i said softly. Trying my best not to upset him more. He didn't answer, he didn't even look up. He just kept his head in his hands sobbing. I decided to put my confusion behind me just now and comfort Jack i couldn't bear this. I walked inside his apartment slowly and gently closed the door behind me. I made my may towards Jack and slowly sat down beside him.
'Jack, tell me what happened please?', i begged. I got no reply though just more strangled sobs. The tears were streaming down my face by now, seeing him like this was the worst thing i think i'll ever see. I slowly, placed my arms around his shoulders and pulled his head onto my lap letting him sob onto my sweatpants. I tried my best to soothe him by stroking his hair or stroking his bare back.
'shh.. Jack.. shhh.', i mused into his hair. 'It's okay, Jack it's okay'.
We sat there for god knows how long, Jack sobbing onto my lap whilst i stroked his hair or back soothingly whilst whispering comforting words to him. His tears had stopped now but he still hadn't spoke. He was just lying there, his breath catching in his throat as he tried to breathe. I slowly began to pull his head up from my lap so that i could look him in the eye. I held his face gently between my hands and looked into his red, bloodshot eyes
'Jack, please tell me what happened', i begged. He took a minute to compose himself.
'That was my ex boyfriend Vic, he came here and kissed me', he whispered. I was stunned. I think Jack took this silence as something bad.
' i didn't want to kiss him Alex, i didn't! i didn't! He just came on to me, i couldn't get him off me!', his words all came out in a rush.
'I believe you Jack, I do', i said surely.
'I'm so sorry, i'm so so sorry!'
'Jack, stop apologizing. You don't need to! You did nothing wrong!, i exclaimed. Jack went to apologize again but i cut him off with a kiss. Once he recovered from the shock of my kiss he began to kiss me back. The kiss tasted like a mix of his tears and mine, but in that moment i could feel my heart that had been broken like an hour ago began to heal again as i had Jack in my arms. I pulled away from the kiss and looked Jack in the eyes.
'I have something to ask you', i said nervously.
'What is it? You can ask me anything babe.', he replied staring intensely into my eyes.
'Be mine?', i asked, my cheeks flushing bright red.
'Yes'.
And with that one, three letter word, my whole world came togther.
