Drawn To Each Horizon

Four

Olivia POV:
(Two weeks later)

“So my sister’s coming into town today,” Cassadee went through her phone to look through her contacts. “And Olivia, I’m glad you’re a bridesmaid.”

“Thanks Cass.” I smiled.

“But it sucks that my sister lives so far away,” she set her head in her hands and rubbed her forehead.

“You know, I could always help you out.” I suggested. “I live in the same house that you do.”

“That’s a great idea.” Cassadee looked up, “But I don’t want you to go through so much trouble for me.”

“Are you fucking kidding me right now?” I asked. “You’re going to be my sister in law, don’t even start.”

“Okay then,” she laughed. “I already have a venue and time of year picked out, so now all I have to do is get dresses and food. Plus the wedding is a few weeks away.”

“Cassadee, the wedding is two months away.” Rian walked into the kitchen.

“And you need to go get your tux.” I pointed at him.

“Well the guys and I can always get stuff today.” He shrugged, “We don’t have anything going on at the moment.”

“I just want you guys to get your tuxedos before you go back on tour.” Cassadee looked at him.

“So I only have a week.” Rian scratched his head. “I’ll have to gather up the guys and go to a suit shop.”

“And I have to gather up the girls and go to the bridal shop.” Cassadee stood up.

“Am I driving?” I asked.

“If you want to,” Cassadee shrugged.

“Alright, we have your appointment right here.” The woman looked at the computer screen and squinted for a few seconds. “Okay Miss Pope, right this way.” She grabbed a clipboard before guiding our little group to the back of the store. She stopped in front of a dressing room and placed the clipboard into a slot.

“So what kind of dress are you looking for today?” The woman quizzed Cassadee. I zoned out and started to ignore their questions. It was a terrible habit. My eyes wandered around before seeing an amazing dress. It was a ball gown with rhinestones all over the bust.

“Hey Cass,” I might have interrupted their conversation, but who cares. “What about this one?”

“Oh wow, that’s gorgeous.” She walked over to the dress and held the fabric in her hands. “I was looking for something a bit simpler, but I’ll definitely try this on.”

--

Cassadee walked out in the dress I liked. To be honest, I didn’t like it as much on her.

“What do you guys think?” She tilted her head slightly.

“I don’t think it’s you.” Her mom frowned.

“That’s what I was going to say.” Her sister Ashley nodded.

“Hey, you have a whole bunch more to try on.” I encouraged her.

“Yeah,” she lifted the dress up and went back into the dressing room. There were only a few people here today, our party (consisting of me, her mom, and sister) and two other groups.

“So what was the proposal like?” Ashley turned to face me.

“Oh you know, just the simple get down on one knee thing.” I shrugged.

“Hmm, where was it at?” Her mom asked me.

“Backstage before one of their concert a few months ago.” I leaned back into the couch and looked over at them both. “She didn’t tell you this stuff?”

“Eh, not really.” Ashley said. “She told us what happened but she wasn’t very detailed about it.”

“Yeah, I thought it was kind of odd.” Her mom agreed.

“Alright, what about this one?” Cassadee walked back out in a simple white gown.

“Oh my gosh, you look beautiful!” Her mom started to cry.

“Mom,” Cassadee was starting to cry too.

“Do you think this is the dress?” I asked. Cassadee nodded with another tear rolling down her cheek. I felt my phone buzz. Cassadee’s mom and sister walked over to Cass to feel the dress and get a closer look. I reached into my pocket to see who it was.

From: Lexy
How’s the dress shopping going?

To: Lexy
Great, I think Cass found her dress. Second try too!

I got up to go look at Cassadee’s dress. It was very simple and the fabric was kind of silky. She and her mother were still crying when the woman finally started to talk prices with them. I guess her mom was going to pay for it so the budget might be a little tight. My phone buzzed again, thank god.

From: Lexy
Awesome! Tell her I said congrats. And Rian is being an idiot and trying on all these dumb tuxedos. Meanwhile, all of the groomsmen have their tuxedos picked out.

To: Lexy
That’s too bad. Well we still have to get our dresses later on, blue for the win!

My phone buzzed not long after I sent the text, he must be really bored.

From: Lexy
Yeah, we got black tuxedos with a blue button up and black ties.

To: Lexy
Well you’re going to look smoking.

Cassadee had a huge grin on her face as she went back into the dressing room.

“So she’s getting the dress?” I asked.

“Yep, and we got a great deal.” Her mom smiled.

Another text.

From: Lexy
Not as great as you will ;)

To: Lexy
Alright we’ll just have to see.

From: Lexy
Here’s mine.

He attached a picture of him in his tux. What a cutie.

To: Lexy
You’re looking quite dashing.

I chuckled at my own response. What was I supposed to say? The boy looked great in a tux.

Cassadee came back out in her normal clothes and went to the front desk with her mom to pay for the dress.

“So you’ll have to come back in a one month to try on the actual dress again.” The same woman from before was telling them. “Have a great day.”

“Thank you so much.” Cassadee waved at her as we walked out the door. “Time for your appointment.”

We went into the second shop and we were met by a few other girls. Their names were Lilly and Sarah. So I guess the only ones in her bridal party were me, Ashley, Lilly, and Sarah. Her mom would be getting one of those “mother of the bride” dresses. We went our separate ways looking for some light blue dresses. I looked back down at the picture Alex sent me of him in his tux. He looked so cute in a tux. I explored dresses of a similar blue. Cassadee appeared next to me and looked at the dresses with me.

“So it has to be like a robin blue,” she described the color for me.

“Oh yeah, Alex sent me a picture of the tux so the colors would be similar.” I told her.

“Can I see?” I showed her the picture and she just nodded.

“I guess Rian actually got the right color.” She continued to look at dresses with me.
