Three Musketeers

Later that day we were sounding checking and for the first time in years I wasn't look at Alex to if he was watching me sound check but I was looking at Joel and he was smiling. But not just a smile, he was smiling at me and it was the proud omg look how hot my girlfriend looks. Once we were done, I rolled a cigarette and walked outside for a smoke. Alex came outside.
"Hey can we talk?" He asked sheepishly like I was planning on kicking off with him or something. He obviously hadn't heard the news and didn't know my new happy mood.
I turned to face him "yeah sure.Whats up?"
"Julie and I broke up" He just looked at me. Obviously looking for a reaction off me. I already knew this I had dealt with this information a while ago. "But you already knew that. I was gonna call you up" He was looking down at his shoes then slowly raised his head while saying " I didn't have the balls to admit I had fucked up and I didn't have the balls to face you after that. I know we have been through so much and I was too afraid that we were over that we could never be friends again let alone anything else. So Rather than talking to you about, I convinced myself I had screwed everything up because it was easier to do that than hear you say it" He looked like he was on the brink of tears. "I went to the hospital" He looked at me biting his lip, tears about to escape. "I saw you with Joel" He nodded, there the first one went. I swallowed "he called me that night. Asking he if I was alright for you two" I was shocked "I said yes. I don't care how. But as long as you are truly happy I am happy even if it breaks my heart in the mean time. So are you two? official?" I nodded my head more tears escape from his eyes. Then mine went.
I walked up to him, I stretched up so our eyes were equal. I held his head up to look at me. "Alex you have been my best friend for 11 years you big idiot. There is no way in hell we will never be friends. We could not be talking for years and you could hit me up one day happy sad depressed. Anything. And I would be there. As I know you would be for me. I am Happy Alex and You will be baby you will be! nothing has changed between us. I just need to know what it is like with him first ok?" He nodded. I kissed his forehead and walked back in the room. I wiped away a couple tears and joined Joel In a hug. He kissed my head and carried on the conversation with the band.
He whispered at me "You ok baby?" I just nodded at him "You two ok?" I smiled and nodded again. Giving him another kiss.
6 Months later
Joel and I were great, Alex and I were best friends again. everything was how it should be. The band sold the house in Texas and we bought a new band house in Baltimore, back home. Only down the road from the ATL House and GC house. Although Joel practically lives at our house with me. We are actually on tour together all three bands which in theory sounds like a disaster but it wasn't! It was coming to the end of so we decided to have a band and crew party before we all went home! We had a bbq when we all got back to Baltimore back at our house. It was nice we decided to invite some Family round my Dad actually made it but he did bring Kat which was slightly annoying cause she wasn't actually family didn't really want to her be. She was only a few years older than I was. It was weird. But everyone was there I did think that maybe Joel had something planned because had invited alot of people to this bbq but the night went on and nothing happened. We have fire pit in the garden , Joel and I set the fire going and we all sat round just jamming. Alex got his guitar out and I start singing. It was like something out of a movie then my dad and Joel moved across the garden they were talking for ages. My dad came back and Joel went back into the house. What felt like for ages he emerged from the house again. Alex started playing a softer more romantic track and everyone stared at Joel walking up to me. He had a massive smile on his face. He came and got on one knee by my chair. I was in genuine surprise. My Hands over my mouth in shock.
"Jasey Rae Ferrana. I have known you since you were like 12 years old. And I remember clearly the day I saw you again 6 months ago. The moment I laid my eyes on you I instantly fell inlove with you, I knew I would spend my rest of my life with the women I was gonna love beyond the grave. I knew in that moment I would be here on my knee asking the girl of my dreams. My riot girl to marry me. So Jasey I did it all right I asked your dad for permission for your hand. Now its down to you baby girl. Will you make the happiest man on this earth and marry me?"
Tears ran down my face, A massive smile on my face at the same time. Happy tears. "Ofc I will" He slipped the ring on my finger then my arms around his neck. One hand resting on the back of his head, we kissed.
